Our Vision:
To challenge and encourage everyone in our congregation to know
and follow Christ by:

Growing as disciples through

Christs teachings
Connecting with one another in
Christian community

Pastors Corner
Please remember that we have a major Sunday
morning schedule change this coming Sunday
morning, June 7. In order to have all of our
confirmands confirmed at the same worship
service, we will have two worship services that
day. The first will be at the normal time, 8:30 a.m.
We will celebrate the Confirmation Class and you
will hear from the confirmands, but it will not
include the service of confirmation. It will contain
the Service of Holy Communion as we normally celebrate it on the first
Sunday of the month.

The second service will be at 10:00 a.m., and will last until about 11:30
am, followed by a reception for our confirmands and their families. This
service will combine elements of both our 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. services
and will also include the Service of Holy Communion. Im sure you will
make every effort to be here to support our confirmands who have
worked hard since February, and please be in prayer for each of them
as they make this major life commitment! On page 3 of this publication,
you can read the names of the confirmands, who their mentors are,
and what spiritual gifts they each possess.
This past Sunday, May 31, many of you heard our Lay Leader, Mike
Ragonese, address the congregation and let it know about listening
sessions to be offered to the whole church. The purpose of the listening
sessions is to gain valuable insight about how potential changes in our
Sunday morning schedule will impact our current members, nonmembers, and visitors from our community. These listening sessions
are vitally important as the Vision Team seeks to understand both the
will of the Lord and the guidance of Gods people.
You will be given a variety of ways to sign up for a listening session to
attend, and even to have a one-on-one session with someone from the
Vision Team. A sub-team is also being developed made up of those on
the Vision Team as well as representatives from each of the current
Sunday morning services to help prayerfully decide which direction we
will move.
If you attend a listening session, you can expect several guided questions to be asked of the group, as well as time to express any areas the
questions do not address. Careful notes will be taken of all responses
from each group, but names will not be attached to any of the
comments written down. We expect that persons attending will offer full
respect to everyone else attending, whether or not they agree with
other points of view. We will offer multiple ways to sign up for these
sessions, so please listen carefully on Sunday morning as we share
how the sign-up process will take place.
Blessings, Pastor Jim
