Who is the YHVH of the “Old Testament”?

Part 3

HOW CAN YAHUAH/YHUH INHERIT

Carroll L. Page clpage1@comcast.net Rev 1-11-09

Who is the YHUH of the "Old Testament"? Does your theory concerning his identity really hold up,
when scrutinized by the standard of the Scriptures? You must recognize that for a theory to be worth
consideration it must be able to address all issues concerning the subject. Can your idea concerning the
identity of Yah/YHUH of the "Old Testament" address the following questions?

How does Yah/YHUH inherit? And whom from?

How does Yah/YHUH of the "Old Testament" inherit if He is the Messiah's Father and the originator of
all?

If He is the Father of the Word, the Messiah, that created all, He therefore owns all. To "Inherit" indicates
that you acquire possession from someone else, at the very least. How could this possibly be if He is the
great originator of all?

The following scriptures address the subject of Yahuah's "Inheritance".

Exodus 34:9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Yah/YHUH, let my Yahuah, I pray
thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for
Thine inheritance.

1 Samuel 10:1 Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it
not because Yah/YHUH hath anointed thee to be captain over His inheritance?

Psalm 28:9 Save Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up forever.

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose Elohim is Yah/YHUH; and the people whom He hath chosen for
His own inheritance.

Isaiah 19:25 Whom Yah/YHUH of Hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria
the work of My hands, and Israel Mine inheritance.

Psalm 94:14 For Yah/YHUH will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance.

Jeremiah 16:18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled
My land, they have filled Mine inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable things.

I have asked many Pastors, "How does Yah/YHUH of the 'Old Testament' inherit?" and "how can they
explain some of the above listed scriptures". They usually don't respond or evade answering or simply say
"I don't know".

1
If the above Scriptures can't be accounted for, then ones' theory is flawed about the identity of
Yah/YHUH of the Hebrew Scriptures and should be discarded.

So- How does Yah/YHUH inherit? And who from?

Could it be that He is Yah the Son, the word of the Father? Could it be the Messiah
before His becoming a man?

Think about it………

Appendix: Some say this should be translated as possess or possession in the Scripts where it is
concerning YHUH. The problem with that is, this Hebrew word only means possess as an acquired thing
or an acquired possession, to come to possess or to inherit by some means. In other words to come to
possess something that was previously possessed or previously owned by someone else.

The root word here is: 05157 nachal {naw-khal'} a primitive root; TWOT - 1342; v
AV - inherit 30, inheritance 19, possess 5, have 2, divide 1, heritage 1, possession 1, strong's synonym
2; 61
1) to get as a possession, acquire, inherit, possess 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to take possession, inherit
1a2) to have or get as a possession or property (fig.) 1a3) to divide the land for a possession
1a4) to acquire (testimonies) (fig.)
1b) (Piel) to divide for a possession
1c) (Hithpael) to possess oneself of
1d) (Hiphil) 1d1) to give as a possession 1d2) to cause to inherit, give as an inheritance
1e) (Hophal) to be allotted, be made to possess

Showing that it is referring to acquired possession/inheritance, the Authorized Version renders it fifety
times as some form of inherit (inherit 30, inheritance 19, 1 heritage) and only 11 times as some form of
possess.

In the AV “possess” occurs 5 times and inherit fits just as well. In fact there is another Hebrew word that
means possess. Here is an examples:

Deuteronomy19:14 Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in
thine inheritance<5159 noun form of verb 5157>, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy
God giveth thee to possess<03423 - yarash > it. (KJV) Notice both words in one sentence!
,
Job7:3 So am I made to inherit/possess<5157 come to possess or have> months of vanity, and
wearisome nights are appointed to me. (KJV)

Isaiah14:2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall
inherit/possess<5157> them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take
them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. (KJV)

Isaiah57:13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away;
vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall inherit/possess<5157> the land, and shall
possess/inherit <3423> my holy mountain; (KJV)

Zephaniah2:9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as
Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a
perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall
inherit/possess<5157> them. (KJV)

Zechariah8: 12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give
her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to
inherit/possess<5157> all these things. (KJV)

AV – Translates <05157 nachal> as “have” 2 times

Numbers18:23 23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall
bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of
Israel they inherit/have<5157> no inheritance<5159 noun form of the root 5157nachal>. (KJV)

Numbers18:24 24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the
LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of
Israel they shall inherit/have<5157> no inheritance. (KJV)

You can easily see that the translators play fast and loose with translating the Hebew Scriptures, to get it
to fit their agenda!
