Magallanes Food Products (MFP) was born in November, 2007
when it was registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTISorsogon) as manufacturer of Magallanes Sardines and Magallanes
Bangus.
March, 2008
The Department of Trade and Industry (the first one to notice
the potential of the product) funded the labeling of the product and the
training for good manufacturing practice.
May, 2008
Our Sardines in oil passed the microbiologicalcommercial
sterility test conducted by the Industrial Technology Development
InstituteStandards & Testing Division of the Department of Science and
Technology.
Through the help of the DTI-Sorsogon, the Magallanes Sardines
in Oil was subjected to nutritional analysis by the Adamson University
Technology Research & Development Center (AUTRDC), Manila. One
very good result of the analysis is that histamine level was found to be
very low signifying good processing product standards.
June, 2008
Our License to Operate as Food Manufacturer was approved by
the Bureau of Foods and Drugs under LTO No. RDII-RV-F-1870 and our
Bangus in oil passed the BFAD histamine and heavy metal standard
test.
August, 2008
Become a legitimate business through the Registration with the
Bureau of Internal Revenue.
September, 2008
Magallanes Food Products became a subscriber of the Global
Standards-1 Philippines (GS1) granting us to use the EANUCC System
thus giving us the ability to export our products to overseas market
where barcodes are in use
