This workshop on finite element methods

and its applications as an endeavor

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Recent developments in finite

element techniques.

The Finite Element Method (FEM) is a

numerical and computer based technique of
solving a variety of practical engineering
problems that arise in different fields. It is
recognized by developers and users as one of
the most powerful numerical analysis tools
ever devised to analyse complex problems of
engineering. FEM formulation will be
elaborated for various practical engineering
problems related to plates and shells, beams,
truss and bar elements involving 1D and 2D
problems of structural engineering, heat
transfer etc.

To inform the participants about the

various materials and its properties.
To study about modeling of engineering
systems and solid-structure interaction.
To implement material model in finite
element method and its applications.
Basic concepts in FEM.
Formulation of 1D and 2D problems.
Application of FEM in Heat transfer
problems.
Application of FEM in vibrational
problems.
