TOURISM BROCHURE OF CROSS RIVER STATE
INTRODUCTION: Brochures in the retail travel agencies has been the critical marketing tool
for many years and also the main influence on customers to purchase different holiday
packages. Tourism is an intangible item that clients are obliged to buy without having the
chance to examine it, (Holloway and Humphrey, 2012). More so Cross River State is been
located in the south south geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The state is divided into 18 local
government areas (COMETONIGERIA.COM, 2011).
Notwithstanding the researcher will produce a travel guide for Adie Tours and Travel Agency
using two destination in cross river state which are; Obudu cattle ranch resort and Calabar.

Accommodation: The resort offers more than nine distinct sorts of hotels rooms; African Hut,
Standard Double Room, Superior Double Room, Club Chalet, Executive Suite, Royal Suite,
Presidential Lodge, Governor's Place, Presidential Villa among others; all going from a cost
between 28,500 to 75,000 naira. In addition the resort has four eateries, one of which is the
Terrace Restaurant and bar that offers food and beverage, ranging from international to
national dishes. There is an additional room service been offered to guest in the hotel
(Olatunji, 2015).
Touring: On the off chance that you cherish watching flying creatures like birds, then a

Location: Calabar is situated at the south eastern part of Nigeria which is North latitude which

in cross river state and Nigeria at large (Maplandia.com, 2005).
Transportation means: Visitor tend to visit calabar by air, sea and mostly land. Calabar is
approximately one hour flying from Lagos to Abuja were it major airport is called the Margaret
Ekpo international airport in calabar. Where arik, Dana and aero air depart from this beautiful
city everyday. The sea means of transport runs from Orun in akwa ibom and all part of the
country to marina resort calabar, both smaller and faster boats are also in service (Cross River
State Tourism Bureau, 2015).
Accommodation: Calabar comprises of hotel, motel and guest house accommodation which
are; Le chateau, aqual vista, transcorp metropolitan, channel view, mirage and adsuite etc.
(COMETONIGERIA, 2011).
Calabar Museum: The only museum in Nigeria that houses one of the original documents and
largest quantity relating to palm oil production and slave trade in Nigeria. The museum has a
detail briefing about the early city of calabar rite from the early 1400s. The antiquity of the
British Empire that has survived from the distance past (COMETONIGERIA, 2011).
The obong palace: The palace tend to exhibits cultural heritage of the calabar people, their
memorabilias and involvement in slave trade (COMETONIGERIA, 2011).
Tinapa resort: The free trade which also known as Tinapa is been known as Nigeria first leisure
and resort with top notch facilities. Where visitor can explore a whole lot of activities in there
like a move production studio, a casino house, a cinema of eight screen, arcade for children,
restaurant and night club house (Nkori, 2015).
CONCLUSION: Other people culture and tradition can be easily understood in holiday after
having a great source of fun on visiting this two destination in cross river state (Obudu cattle
ranch and calabar), (Matthei, 2015).
The researcher was able to produce a well detailed travel guide for Adie Tours and Travel
Agency using two destination in cross river state which are; Obudu cattle ranch resort and
Calabar.
