Omar Schrock and his family have started a new Baptist church in their neighborhood of Vila Cardoso in Brazil. They held their first service with 35 people attending. Attendance has fluctuated but they are seeing new visitors. In May, the family took a road trip to renew their children's passports which went well with no issues. In June, Omar's Amish grandfather passed away and he was able to attend the funeral, seeing family he hadn't seen in years. Omar thanks supporters for their continued prayers for the ongoing ministry work in Brazil.

This
has
been
an
exciting
time
in
the
ministry
here
and
were
thrilled
to
tell
you
about
the
birth
of
Igreja
Batista
em
Vila
Cardoso
(Vila
Cardoso
Baptist
Church)
in
a
storefront
on
the
main
street
of
our
neighborhood
of
Vila
Cardoso.
We
are
holding
a
Childrens
Sunday
School
in
the
AM
and
the
main
Family
Service
in
the
PM,
as
is
common
here.
We
were
blessed
to
have
a
total
of
thirty-five
Brazilian
neighbors
and
friends
who
came
on
our
first
Sunday!
As
expected
with
a
young
church
plant
like
this,
the
weekly
attendance
has
fluctuated
quite
a
bit,
but
we
are
continually
blessed
with
new
visitors
as
well
as
returning
guests!
I
have
been
teaching
through
Genesis
in
the
childrens
Sunday
School,
and
our
co-worker,
Bro.
e ic rv e S l
Lockhart,
has
been
preaching
through
the
gospel
of
John
Schoo First
Sunday in
the
main
services.
We
are
so
excited
to
have
this
new
avenue
to
spread
the
gospel
here
and
we
ask
for
your
continued
prayers
that
God
would
work
in
hearts
and
that
many
would
be
saved
and
follow
Christ!
In
May,
our
family
drove
to
the
U.S.
Embassy
in
the
capital
of
Brazil
over
500
miles
away
to
renew
our
childrens
passports.
Although
we
have
driven
all
over
the
United
States,
this
was
our
first
big
road
trip
in
Brazil
and
I
was
somewhat
apprehensive
about
the
dangerous
roads.
But,
the
Lord
blessed
and
we
had
a
safe,
enjoyable,
and
successful
trip!
We
even
had
time
to
shop
at
a
Wal-mart
and
eat
at
some
American
restaurants
in
the
big
city!
Then,
in
June,
my
(Omars)
amish
grandfather
passed
away
of
Alzheimers
disease.
In
recent
years
my
amish
relatives
have
greatly
relaxed
their
shunning
and
even
requested
my
presence
at
the
funeral!
I
didnt
think
there
would
be
any
way
I
could
go,
but
at
the
last
minute
we
found
a
round-trip
ticket
for
less
than
half
the
normal!
I
was
very
glad
that
I
was
able
to
be
there
for
the
funeral
and
see
all
forty-seven
living
cousins
on
that
side
of
the
family,
many
of
whom
Id
never
met
before.
Their
friendly
reception
of
us
was
unprecedented
really
unbelievable!
We
continue
to
pray
for
their
salvation!
I
also
used
my
five-days
in
the
states
to
buy
supplies
and
to
visit
with
my
siblings,
including
my
sister
whom
I
hadnt
seen
in
five
years,
since
shes
a
missionary
in
Canada!
It
was
a
very
blessed
time,
but
I
was
also
very
happy
to
get
back
home
to
my
family
and
the
work
here
in
Brazil!
Again,
we
thank
you
for
your
continued
prayers
and
support
for
us
and
the
ongoing
ministry
here!
It
is
exciting
to
see
what
the
Lord
is
doing
here
and
we
are
thankful
for
the
part
you
share
in
it!
In
Christ,
