This is the third fiberglass tutorial ive written. If you wish to look back at the other two, which explain the process in more detail, you can see them
below.. (glassing 1), (glasing 2). This tutorial is how to fabricate kick panels for your car.. It does not go into depth about imaging, stage height,
proper alignment or anything like that because i dont know much about that---refer to any car audio forum for the best way to do this in your car.

Retire todas as capas laterais que voc puder. Voc vai fazer o molde em fibra utilizando a maior rea possivel para
depois retirar o excesso, assim facilita a estrutura ter boa resistncia e tambm se encaixar no local.
Remove any panels that you can. You are going to make the fiberglass mold large than it has to be, so that you can trim away excess and it will fit
properly..

Coloque os falantes no local para ver como eles ficaro, isto apenas para ter uma idia da rea que voc vai cobrir
com fibra de vidro, voc pode ver na minha situao que vou trabalhar a partir do final do pedal, ento vou ter cerca de
6cm de excesso para ser cortado fora depois.
Place your drivers roughly how they will sit--this is just to get a rough estimate in your head about how far out you need to glass to -- you can see

in my situation i am going to about where the dead pedal ends--so i will glass about 2-3" beyond that and then cut the excess later.

Cubra toda a rea com fita crepe. Tinha vrios fios passando perto da lateral, em vez de passar a fita em volta deles,
apenas cubri naturalmente, assim fica mais fcil quando passar a fibra por cima e tambm deixa espao de sobra no
caso de vc precisar passar mais fios por este local.
Cover the entire area with masking tape. I had a bunch of wires there, instead of taping tightly around them, i taped so it flowed over it evenly-this will make it fit easier, glass easier and also give u room incase u need to run more wires in the future.

Como uma precauo extra, eu normalmente coloco pedaos de papel alumnio sobre a fita, para que a resina no
passe da fita e grude no carpete. Esta etapa no necessria, mas recomendada, principalmente se o carro no for
seu.
As an extra precautionary step i usually put some aluminum foil on top just in case some resin seeps through-- this is not necessary but its
recomended..

Pegue alguns plsticos ou sacolas velhas e cubra toda a rea em volta do local de trabalho para que a resina no
respingue diretamente nestes locais.
Get some painters tarp or garbage bags and cover the entire area around the glassing area so that any stray resin will not get into your carpet

Passe a primeira camada de resina e fibra. Este mais difcil por se tratar de um espao apertado e cheio de curvas.
Use pequenos pedaos de fibra, evite bolhas de ar. Por no se tratar de uma caixa para subwoofer, eu utilizei apenas
duas camadas, no h necessidade de ser to forte quanto uma caixa para um subwoofer grande.
Lay the first layer of glass as mentioned in the previous tutorials. This is a more difficult scenario than the others bc it has more curves, and is in a
confined space... Use smaller peices of glass and take your time---avoid air bubbles. Since this isnt a subwoofer enclosure, i did just two layers
overlapping--it doesnt need to be very strong like a sub box

Depois da resista estar seca, remova o molde e as fitas. Com uma caneta, marque o contorno onde ser cortado, vc
pode colocar os falantes sobre o molde, pra ter uma idia de onde cortar. Na parte debaixo, onde tem uma seta,
marque o lugar onde a soleira da porta ir cobrir para que vc no coloque o falante sobre este lugar.
After the glass has dried, remove the mold and tape and foil... Then outline the area where you will cut---place the speakers prior so you have any
idea of where to trace... and also on the bottom, where i have the arrow, mark the point at where your door sill will cover the peice--u want to
make sure u dont mount a speaker here.

Enquanto a pea secava, vc deve montar os anis para os falantes utilizando madeira de 12mm.
While all that crap was drying, you should be making the mounting rings.. I did not make flush mount rings like i did here, and i also used 1/2"
MDF as opposed to 3/4"...

Agora vc deve prender os anis. Usei cola quente para segurar tudo no lugar. Este um passo importante para saber
como o pezinho vai ficar. No sei muito como angul-los. Mas escutei pessoas dizendo que ajustavam durante muito
tempo at que o som lhe parea bom. Eu no queria fazer isso ento apontei o midbass para os lados. Para os tweeters
eu fiz o seguinte que foi recomendado, medir 5 polegadas abaixo do topo da minha cabea e 3 polegadas a frente do

meu nariz (estas medidas ainda no foram comprovadas se funcionam, autosom.net), marquei com fita ambas as
portas, depois angulei o tweeter de um lado apontando para a marca do lado oposto do carro, fiz isso para ambos os
lados com a ajuda de um laser.
Next you want to mount the rings.. I used hot glue to hold everything in place.. This is a very important step in how the kicks will sound--i do not
know a lot on the proper way to aim them---ive heard alot of people use towels and just keep adjusting until they found what they liked---i didnt
wanna do that.. So i aimed the woofer straight across, which left me with the most room i could get.. and for the tweeter i did this, which was
recommended to me; Measure 5" down from the top of your head, and 3" in front of your nose.. Mark this spot with tape on the adjacent
door/window.. Do this for both sides. Then, aim the driver side tweeter at the passenger, mark, and vice versa.. to do the aiming i used a laser
pointer.

Depois de tudo seco, vc precisa checar se os falantes se encaixam direito, verifique se os anis esto afastados o
suficiente da parte posterior do pezinho, eu deixei meia polegada entre o im e a parte trazeira do pezinho.
After everything has dried, you want to check the clearance of the woofer and tweeter---make sure the rings are out far enough so it will mount.. i
had about 1/2" of clearance between the magnet and the back glass wall.

Leve para dentro e corte um grande pedao de tecido. No basta colocar o tecido por cima e prender no lado de trs,
pois o buraco do tweeter que fica mais baixo vai sumir, passe cola quente sobre o aro do tweeter, cole o tecido e deixe
secar, depois, passe cola sobre o anel do midbass, estique o tecido, cole e deixe secar, depois puxe para trs e prenda,
com isso, os buracoes dos falantes estaro a mostra.
Take those bitches inside, and cut a fairly large peice of fleece. In glassing 2, when fleece was wrapped around the enclosure it was pretty straight
foward--it is a bit different in this case bc the rings may be indented in reference to the edges of the glass'd mold---so if you wrapped fleece
around the whole thing, the tweeter hole, and possibly the woofer hole wouldnt be seen---so you have to wrap a little differently. using hot glue,
apply in sections of the ring some glue, and place the fleece on it--wait til it dries, stretch it, and apply a little more---keep working until the entire
ring is glued.. I did the woofer ring first but it would have been easier to do the tweeter first, since i had a lot of left over creases.. After the fleece
is attached to the mounting rings, then stretch around the edges of the mold and glue them

Cole o tecido por trs, corte os excessos mas deixe cerca de uma polegada colada na parte de trs.
Wrap around the back, cut as much excess as you can, leaving about 1" wrapped around

Teste o encaixe mais uma vez, este ser a aparncia final.

Test fit once more--- this will be the final shape

Aplique resina sobre o tecido e deixe secar.

Apply loads of that goopy shit all over those bastards. Make pretend its your girlfriend's face and go to town. Let dry.

Esteja certo que tenha aplicado resina o bastante para saturar o tecido, uma boa maneira de saber isto olhar pelo
lado de dentro e ver se o tecido ficou escuro. Como o pezinho no vai segurar 100 libras, apenas resina e tecido o
suficiente, no irei aplicar fibra sobe ele, acredite, ser forte o suficiente. Apesar de ser resistente o suficiente, ele pode
vibrar, passe mais algumas camadas para q no haja colorao no som pela vibrao do pezinho. - AutoSom.net
Make sure you applied enough resin to saturate through the fleece---a good way to tell is to look inside and see if the fabric is darker from the
inside as well--if it is, its all the way through---since these kicks dont need to holds 100's of lbs, resin and fleece is all you need---i will not be
applying glass to this, trust me, itll be strong enough.

Depois de tudo seco. Corte os buracos dos falantes, seja cuidadoso para no cortar a madeira.
After it has dried.. trim the speaker holes, be careful not to cut the wood

Utilize uma lixa 80 deixe o pezinho to liso quanto possvel. Vai ter um monte de craterar que precisaro ser
preenchidos.
Using 80 grit, sand down the fleece to make it as smooth as possible.. there will be a shitload of pits that need to be filled to make it smooth.

Aplique a massa (no sei q massa foi mensionada - AutoSom.net) e passe uma faca para remover o excesso, remova
todo o excesso enquanto estiver mole, porque depois ser muito penoso. Voc tem 5 a 10 min para trabalhar antes que
fique duro.
Apply bondo body filler.. this was my first time using bondo, but the best way is to spread on a goopy amount, then use the putty knife to remove
as much as you can--the bondo will adhere to the pits.. if you leave a thick gunk on thre it will be a major pain in the ass to remove, and in some
cases i left the bondo gunks b/c i couldnt get rid of it----so make sure you remove as much as you can while its still soft--you get about 5-10mins
of work time before it starts hardening.

Despois de 20 min secando, lixe com lixa 80 novamente. A massa ter removido a maioria dos buracos, se tiver mais
buracos ainda, passe mais massa e lixe novamente.
After about 20 mins to dry, sand with 80 grit the entire thing again. the bondo will fill most of the pits. if you have any more pits, apply more
bondo or use glazing putty.
