Product Manual

15 May 2014

Configuration by Web Interface

Connect a laptop/workstation to the CableFree LC Microwave Indoor Unit over
Ethernet LAN/WAN using Telnet. Open the Web browser on the computer. In
our examples, Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) is used, though virtually any web
browser can be used.
In the address bar, enter the URL by typing
http://a.b.c.d where a.b.c.d is the IP address of the unit. Ensure that the
PC network settings are correct and both are on the same subnet. You will be
prompted for user name and password.
A web-based management system is now available with a tabbed menu
system as shown in the screenshots shown in the following pages.

The second tab is the Modem configuration screen

On the left of the screen are the current operating modes for the modem in
the microwave indoor unit, including operating state, bandwidth, modulation,
line interfaces and symbol rate.
On the right of the screen are options to change the settings for all of those
parameters, and to store or restore settings.

The third tab is the Link Quality display

This tab shows measures of Link Quality including errored codewords and
frames, link up and down time counters, error-free, errored, severely-errored
and unavailable seconds, and block error rate. It is possible to reset the
counters, which is normally done after the link is commissioned for example.

The Fourth tab is the Telco Lines screen which displays the status of the
E1/T1 TDM ports on the Indoor unit

The status of each E1/T1 port is shown (above is the 32-channel version) with
Loss of Signal (LOS), All-ones detect, Driver Failure Monitor (DFM). The
number of active E1/T1 ports is summarised at the top as well as the state.

The Fifth tab shows the Ethernet port configuration

The LC microwave indoor unit contains a sophisticated Ethernet/IP switch

fabric with advanced features for VLAN, Quality of Service, per-port rate
limiting and port-based priority schemes. These can be set for each of the 4
Ethernet ports on the indoor unit using the controls at the top of the screen.
The bottom section shows the port state including up/down, duplex, speed,
priority and ingress limits.

IDU to ODU connectivity status, and below that specific information on the
ODU that is connected.
On the right of the screen it is possible to select various RF parameters
including transmit on/off, output power and transmit frequency.

The Seventh tab shows the Logged Data screen

The data that is logged here is useful for diagnosis of link performance either
at time of installation or subsequent operation. On the left, the logging
period start and end times are shown. Next, the received signal level (RSSI)
in dBm is shown. Next the demodulated received power is shown, followed by
the demodulated Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). To the right the Demodulated
frequency and Temperature are shown. Each value has Minimum, Maximum
and Average values for the monitored time period.
