At the end of this course students will be able to:


COGNITIVE DOMAIN:
LO1. List and describe the skills in thinking.
LO2. Differentiate between all types of thinking.
PSYCHOMOTOR DOMAIN:
LO3. Apply creative thinking methods to suggest solutions to contemporary
social problems.
LO4. Determine and apply the scientific stages to problem solving in
analytical thinking.
LO5. Develop a creative problem solving skill.
AFFECTIVE DOMAIN:
LO6. Demonstrate positive attitude to help others through thinking skills.

Synopsis

Through this subject the learner will be involved in many fun activities. It will
guide them to be able to make a decision and solve the problems in any
situations. All the case studies will be discussed and solved through various
activities indoor and outdoor to make sure that the students will develop their
critical and creative thinking. Therefore, it will be encouraging students to
apply these skills to realistic scenarios.

Assessment

The course has no final examination


Students will be assessed on the basis of
their Final project and their journal.

Students are required to keep a journal


of their learning experience in the
classes that they enroll in that particular
semester. The journal will include their
personal collection of experiences,
thoughts,
ideas,
challenges/difficulties/problems that they
encounter, as well as observations
related to the project that they have
undertaken.
The complete journal will be handed in to
the lecturer in the 10th week of the
semester.
Project: (Group)
(mark: 70%)
Students are asked to form groups (5 to
8 members per group, depending on the
number of students in the class). The
main objective of the project is to
evaluate the students thinking skills.
The students are required to undertake
an activity which displays their thinking
skills. They will be evaluated on the basis
of the rubric attached.

Introduction- What is thinking skills?
Critical thinking skills;
Creative thinking skills
Explain the Project question to students;
Explain to students about Log book/ journal- explaining
importance of the same.

Week 2

Activity 1:
Divide students into groups;
Group Discussion about issues in their area (based on
course/cluster) then how to solve the problem by using mind
mapping method.

Week 3

Activity 2:
Case study game: Reorganize a puzzle
Students will be divided into few groups. Each group will be
given all pieces of puzzle in one envelope. They must
reorganize all the pieces become one complete puzzle.

Movement game: Who am I?


Lecturer will continue the game with this movement and
answer game. There is one person from each group will act
or do movement without talking to other people in their
group. He / she need to act or do movement about some
professions, and then the other students in the group will be
guessing all the movements.
Activity 3:
Lecturer provides five samples of issues which relate to
student daily life. Divides students into five groups, and each
group will discuss on how to solve that issue through critical
thinking steps.
Log Book is checked by lecturer
Activity 4:
Divide students into teams and give them equal amounts of
certain materials from surrounding. Then, give them
something to construct. The product and challenge will be
variety.
Every group should be presenting their model.
Activity 5:
Talk by expertise from industry. Students will give their
reflection on it.

Activity 6:
Explore race game:
Lecturer will ask the students to go and do outdoor activity.
The game will be conducted in groups. Each group will
collect all the clues which are going to be putted by lecturer
at some places in MSU. Once they have finish to collect all
the clues then they need to find the answer.

Activity 7:
Lecturer will ask students to encourage their decision making
skills which regards to their topic through IDEAL steps.

Presentation:
Students presenting their project result.
