NARRATOR:
This story is The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy was a little girl who lived in a farm in Kansas with her uncle
Henry, her aunt Em, and a little black dog called Toto.
SCENE 1: AT THE FARM (TORNADO)
UNCLE HENRY
A tornado is coming!
AUNT EM
Henry! Henry! I cant find Dorothy...She is somewhere out in the storm!
UNCLE HENRY
Oh no! Dorothy, where are you? Can you listen to me?
AUNT EM
Dorothy, Come here!!....Please answer us. Dorothy!
DOROTHY 1 Toto, come here. Lets go inside. Somebody help me! The house is shaking.

SCENE 2: AT AN UNKNOWN PLACE
(MUNCHKINLAND)
DOROTHY 1
What happened? The house is not moving anymore Come Toto, lets go outside.
DOROTHY 1
Oh, this place is so beautiful!

You killed the evil witch!

DOROTHY 1
I havent killed anybody.
WOMAN
Well, your house did. Look over there!
DOROTHY 1
Oh no! What have I done? Who was she?
MAN 1
She was the wicked witch of the East. She kept prisoners the people from this city. We were her slaves
day and night, and now we are free!
SONG: DING DONG! THE WITCH IS DEAD
DOROTHY 1
And who are you?
WITCH OF THE NORT
I am the witch of the North. My name is Glinda.
DOROTHY 1 Are you a real witch?
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1 Of course. But I am a good witch.
WOMAN 2 Yes, the witch of the North is a good witch and the muchkins love her because of that... Oh!
Look over there! I cant believe it! Its impossible!
MAN 2
Her feet are gone!
WOMAN 3
The witch of the East lost her feet! And now, she only left her red shoes. What a beautiful pair of shoes!
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1 She was so old that her feet dried with the sun. The shoes are yours you
can use them.
DOROTHY 1
I want to go home. Can you show me the way to Kansas?
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1
To the East and to the South are great deserts, but nobody can cross them.
MAN 3

And to the West theres an evil witch. If you go there, you would be her slave.
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1
But... What is your name, dear?
DOROTHY 1
My name is Dorothy, and this is Toto.
WITCH OF THE WEST 1
What have you done! You killed my sister! Was it you? Answer me!

So it was you, was it? You killed

NORTH WITCH 1
Go away!
WITCH OF THE WEST 1
I want my sisters shoes! Give them to me!
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1

WITCH OF THE WEST 1
Very well. I cant attend to you here and now as Id like. Im leaving but Ill find you later I promise!
Ha, ha, ha! But just try to stay out of my way.
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1
You must go to Emerald City. The Wizard of Oz might help you.
DOROTHY 1
Where is that city?
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1
Its in the middle of the country.
DOROTHY 1
Is he a good wizard?
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1
Hes a good wizard, but I have never seen him.
DOROTHY 1
How can I get to that city?
WITCH OF THE NORTH 1

Just follow the yellow brick road.

WOMAN 4

DOROTHY 2
Oh, shes gone. Toto, we have to go.
SCARECROW 1
Help me! I want a brain! I need a brain!
DOROTHY 2 Did you hear that, Toto? Who is talking?
SCARECROW 1 Its me! Look this way!
DOROTHY 2 Did you say that you need a brain?
SCARECROW 1
Yes, I only have straw.
DOROTHY 2 And, how can you talk?
SCARECROW 1
I dont know.
SONG: IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN
DOROTHY
Well, I cannot get you a brain, but if you come with me to visit the Wizard of Oz,
I am sure he will give you a brain.
SCARECROW
Are you going to visit the wizard? I will go with you!
TIN MAN
Oil can! Oil can!
DOROTHY
Oil can?

SCARECROW
I think hes trying to say that he wants some oil.
DOROTHY
Look, theres an oil can on the floor.
Maybe thats what he wants.
SCARECROW
Where do you want me to put the oil?
TIN MAN
In my chin! In my chin!
SCARECROW
Here... Ill put some drops in your chin.
TIN MAN
Oh now I can talk again! But I need some in my arms, too.
SCARECROW
Let me put some in your arms.
TIN MAN
I also need oil in my legs and in my feet.
DOROTHY
Let me put some, too.
TIN MAN
Perfect! Now I can talk and move again.
SONG: IF I HAD A HEART.
TIN MAN
Now my problem is that I dont have a heart.
DOROTHY
Dont you have a heart?
TIN MAN
No, I want a heart. I want to know what love is.
DOROTHY
Well, come with us then.

We are going to see the Wizard of Oz, he will help us!

SONG: WERE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD
DOROTHY
Toto, stop barking!
DOROTHY
Come here Lion. Toto will not harm you.
DOROTHY
But Why are you crying?
LION
I am crying because I wished that I had courage.
I was scared with your little dog.
DOROTHY
Mmmmm! I dont understand. You are the king of the forest!
LION

TIN MAN
Why dont you come with us to visit the Wizard of Oz.?
Maybe he can help you!
LION
Yes, I need courage, and I want to get it. Lets go!

SCENE 3: AT THE PALACE

GUARD
What do you want? Go away, no one is allowed to get even near the palace.
DOROTHY
Oh, please open the door. We have come to look for the Wizard of Oz. Hes the only one who can help
us.

GUARD
Who sent you here?
DOROTHY, SCARECROW, TIN MAN , LION
The North Witch! Look at her shoes!
GUARD
Let me see what I can do. Wait here!
GUARD
Come in. Go straight through the hall, and then turn to the right. You will find a red door, open it, and
there you will find the Wizard.
DOROTHY
Oh, thank you.
WIZARD OF OZ
What do you want! How do you dare to come to my palace and bother me! I hope it is important what
you have to say, otherwise you will regret it.
DOROTHY
Oh, no...
LION
Please Wizard
SCARECROW
What we have to say...
TIN MAN
Its really important!
WIZARD OF OZ
Talk then. I am wasting my time!
SCARECROW
I need a brain so I can think!
TIN MAN
I need a heart so I can feel!
LION
I need courage so I cannot be afraid any more.
WIZARD OF OZ

And you girlwhat do you need?

DOROTHY
I want to go home I live in Kansas.
WIZARD OF OZ
Very well. I will help you, but with one condition.
First, you have to kill the Witch of the West.
Then, your problems will be solved.
TIN MAN
How?
WIZARD OF OZ
When you kill the witch, you will get your brain,
you will get courage and you will have your heart!
DOROTHY
And what about me?

WIZARD OF OZ
Then, you will find the answer by yourself.
SCENE 4:IN THE GARDEN
DOROTHY
Oh, this garden is so beautiful and those flowers are so pretty
and the smell is so good that I really want to sleep.
LION
Me too I feel so relax
TIN MAN
Ohh, I dont feel my arms I am so sleepy
SCARECROW
No! You cant go to sleep now. We have things to do...
FLYING MONKEY 1
Hey guys, they are sleeping
FLYING MONKEY 2

Yes, we can capture them; the West witch ordered us that.

FLYING MONKEY 3
Ha, Ha, Ha they wont feel anything. This is our opportunity.
Lets go. We are losing time.
FLYING MONKEY 4
Wait! One of you has to look around to check if somebody is near here.
We dont want to ruin this plan! The witch would kill us!
FLYING MONKEY
Dont worry! It is going to be O.K!
My partner and I will be watching everything,
and we will let you know if somebody gets closer to us.
FLYING MONKEY 6
Well tell you. We are going to fly around.

FLYING MONKEY 7
Ha, ha, ha! We got them. Now we can go. The West Witch is waiting for us.
SCENE 5: AT THE WEST WITCHS PALACE
DOROTHY , SCARECROW, TIN MAN , LION
Where are we?
WITCH OF THE WEST
You are in my palace! And now take off my sisters shoes!
DOROTHY
No! I will not give them to you!
WITCH OF THE WEST
I am warning you! If you dont give me the shoes you will never see the light of the day again! Ha, ha,
ha, ha
SCARECROW
Lets get her, thats what we are here for!
WITCH OF THE WEST
Ha, ha, ha, you will be easily killed
piece of straw into ash! Burn!

I will cast a spell on you: Tricky tash, tricky mash, turn this

DOROTHY
Stop it!
WITCH OF THE WEST
Water no please No! What have you done! I am melting melting! Oh, oh. Oh
TIN MAN
Dorothy, you killed her!
WIZARD OF OZ
Now that you have killed the evil witch, you will have what you need.
SCARECROW
Oh! I can think! I have a brain!
TIN MAN
I feel so happy for you! Am I happy? I can feel my heart!
LION
Rghh! Oh! I scared you, Toto! I feel so brave now!
WIZARD OF OZ
Now, I am leaving. Good-Bye, guys!
DOROTHY
Wait! What about me? Wait!
DOROTHY
Oh, Good Witch, please help me! Now everybody has what they wished for, except me. Help me go
home, please.
NORTH WITCH
Oh Dorothy, if you only knew! The power is inside you. It has been inside you all along. The shoes
that you are wearing can take you anywhere you wish to go.
DOROTHY
But How can my shoes take me home?
NORTH WITCH
All you have to do is tap your heels together three times, and say :Theres no place like home,
Theres no place like home, Theres no place like home.
DOROTHY

Oh, but first I have to say goodbye to my friends.

Oh, my good friends, I will miss you so much!
SCARECROW
I will miss you too. And thanks to you my brain will help me think of you and never forget you.
TIN MAN
And me, I will keep you in my heart.
LION
And I will always have courage to fight in your name.

NORTH WITCH
Are you ready?
DOROTHY
Yes.
NORTH WITCH
Now close your eyes and do as I told you.
DOROTHY

SCENE 6: AT THE FARM
DOROTHY
Where am I?
UNCLE HENRY
Youre home!
AUNT EM
Yes Dorothy you are at home
DOROTHY
I am home! It was all a dream.
Oh, dear uncle and aunt I love you so much
I thought I would never see you again.
UNCLE HENRY AND AUNT EM
We love you too!

DOROTHY
Oh! Theres no place like home.
