PRESIDENT & CEO. Leveraged entrepreneurial orientation to launch health and beauty company to meet the needs of niche ethnic
markets. Responsible for leading the operations and strategic direction of organization with full P&L responsibility. Oversee all
finances, sales, business development and human resources. Functional responsibility for product development, product supply
chain, marketing and sales communications, consumer research, and community affairs. Business is currently transitioning from
direct sales to online retail.
Key Accomplishments
Created and sustained health and beauty direct selling business for 8 years. Identified market opportunity, secured capital
investment from private equity partners, and built business infrastructure from scratch. Drove company to just under $1
million in annual revenues.

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT SALES & MARKETING AND INTERNATIONAL. Joined this Hicks Muse Tate & Furst (HMTF) portfolio
company at a time when the organization had been just bought out by equity firm. Was the first outside hire for 50+ years family run
business. Within a year, role transitioned quickly into finding new business growth opportunities to increase revenue and reduce

reliance on the core business. This ultimately culminated in assuming responsibilities for Sales and Marketing, in addition to
maintaining responsibility for the International Division.
Key Accomplishments
Provided leadership for a team of over 200 with three VP level Sales and Marketing direct reports and 2 International
President level direct reports in addition to being second to CEO in providing sales leadership to US independent sales force
of 65,000+.
Drove comprehensive research project that culminated in a new strategic plan to define new corporate growth strategy.
The strategic plan included company re-branding, market segmentation, branded product lines, new product categories,
and operational improvements to enhance service to customers. Branded product lines included, a licensed Better Homes
and Gardens line (partnership with the Better Homes and Gardens Magazine) which yielded over 80 million dollars in
incremental sales within the first year of introduction, and a new childrens product category which led to $40 million in
revenues in first 6 months of product introduction. These lines included some of Home Interiors highest-selling products
(by annual sales dollars) of all time.
Spearheaded the implementation of new branded corporate website establishing a comprehensive online presence
allowing for over 65,000 independent shopping portals and yielding an operating cost reduction of 18%.
Led the turnaround of poorly performing Mexican subsidiary. Restructured local operations and established new
management team that led to record double-digit growth and operating cost reductions of 30%.
Advanced HIGs international presence by launching local subsidiary in Canada. Worked with international business heads
to implement new ERP technology, manage expansion of offices and warehouse, selectively customize product lines, and

Responsible for driving Mary Kay Inc.s international expansion efforts into Western and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet
Union. Held dual reporting relationship to Executive Vice President of Global Marketing in the US and the President of European
Region in the UK. Responsibilities included market assessment (ROI and market sizing) for potential new markets, market research,
competitive positioning, and country specific formulation & packaging. Provided day-to-day marketing leadership to existing
international subsidiaries.
Key Accomplishments
Had responsibility for managing a domestic Marketing team of 5 and providing Strategic Marketing guidance to 8 country
Marketing Managers across Western Europe, Russia and the Ukraine.
Led a cross-functional team with manufacturing, product development, and distribution to develop a strategy for product
manufacturing in Switzerland. This strategy resulted in an estimated $7 million annual dollar cost reduction through the
development of Pan-European packaging and local production of a Europe specific color cosmetic palette that could be
used across all markets. During my tenure at Mary Kay, the European business expanded from $20 million in one market to
over $200 million with presence in 8 markets.
Devised and instituted a new process for managing European marketing efforts including a centralized marketing function,
standard marketing processes ensuring brand consistency across the region, and aligned job descriptions. This led to
improved efficiencies and a 15% reduction in headcount.
Championed a centralized plan for creative print for multi-lingual brochures and other sales tools resulting in over 30% cost
savings to each local subsidiary.
