Sacred Geometry Introductory Tutorial by Bruce Rawles

In nature, we find patterns, designs and structures from the
most minuscule particles, to expressions of life discernible by
human eyes, to the greater cosmos. These inevitably follow
geometrical archetypes, which reveal to us the nature of each
form and its vibrational resonances. They are also symbolic of
the underlying metaphysical principle of the inseparable
relationship of the part to the whole. It is this principle of
oneness underlying all geometry that permeates the architecture
of all form in its myriad diversity. This principle of
interconnectedness, inseparability and union provides us with a
continuous reminder of our relationship to the whole, a blueprint
for the mind to the sacred foundation of all things created.
The Sphere

Starting with what may be the simplest and most perfect of
forms, the sphere is an ultimate expression of unity,
completeness, and integrity. There is no point of view given
greater or lesser importance, and all points on the surface are
equally accessible and regarded by the center from which all
originate. Atoms, cells, seeds, planets, and globular star
systems all echo the spherical paradigm of total inclusion,
acceptance, simultaneous potential and fruition, the macrocosm
and microcosm.
The Circle
The circle is a two-dimensional shadow of the sphere which is

regarded throughout cultural history as an icon of the ineffable
oneness; the indivisible fulfillment of the Universe. All other
symbols and geometries reflect various aspects of the profound
and consummate perfection of the circle, sphere and other
higher dimensional forms of these we might imagine.
The ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, Pi, is
the original transcendental and irrational number. (Pi equals

1) It cannot be expressed in terms of the ratio of two whole
numbers, or in the language of sacred symbolism, the essence
of the circle exists in a dimension that transcends the linear
rationality that it contains. Our holistic perspectives, feelings and
intuitions encompass the finite elements of the ideas that are
within them, yet have a greater wisdom than can be expressed
by those ideas alone.
The Point
At the center of a circle or a sphere is always an infinitesimal
point. The point needs no dimension, yet embraces all
dimension. Transcendence of the illusions of time and space
result in the point of here and now, our most primal light of
consciousness. The proverbial light at the end of the tunnel is
being validated by the ever-increasing literature on so-called
near-death experiences. If our essence is truly spiritual
omnipresence, then perhaps the point of our being here is to
recognize the oneness we share, validating all individuals as
equally precious and sacred aspects of that one.
Life itself as we know it is inextricably interwoven with geometric
forms, from the angles of atomic bonds in the molecules of the
amino acids, to the helical spirals of DNA, to the spherical
prototype of the cell, to the first few cells of an organism which
assume vesical, tetrahedral, and star (double) tetrahedral forms
prior to the diversification of tissues for different physiological
functions. Our human bodies on this planet all developed with a
common geometric progression from one to two to four to eight
primal cells and beyond.
Almost everywhere we look, the mineral intelligence embodied
within crystalline structures follows a geometry unfaltering in its
exactitude. The lattice patterns of crystals all express the
principles of mathematical perfection and repetition of a
fundamental essence, each with a characteristic spectrum of
resonances defined by the angles, lengths and relational
orientations of its atomic components.
The Square Root of Two
The square root of 2 embodies a profound principle of the whole

being more than the sum of its parts. (The square root of two
equals about 1.414213562) The orthogonal dimensions (axes
at right angles) form the conjugal union of the horizontal and

vertical which give birth to the greater offspring of the
hypotenuse. The new generation possesses the capacity for
synthesis, growth, integration and reconciliation of polarities by
spanning both perspectives equally. The root of two originating
from the square leads to a greater unity, a higher expression of
its essential truth, faithful to its lineage.
The fact that the root is irrational expresses the concept that our
higher dimensional faculties cant always necessarily be
expressed in lower order dimensional terms e.g. And the light
shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it
not. (from the Gospel of St. John, Chapter 1, verse 5). By the
same token, we have the capacity to surpass the genetically
programmed limitations of our ancestors, if we can shift into a
new frame of reference (i.e. neutral with respect to prior axes,
yet formed from that matrix-seed conjugation. Our dictionary
refers to the word matrix both as a womb and an array (or grid
lattice). Our language has some wonderful built-in metaphors if
we look for them!
The Golden Ratio
The golden ratio (a.k.a. phi ratio a.k.a. sacred cut a.k.a. golden
mean a.k.a. divine proportion) is another fundamental measure
that seems to crop up almost everywhere, including crops. (The
golden
ratio
is
about
1.618033988749894848204586834365638117720309180)
The golden ratio is the unique ratio such that the ratio of the
whole to the larger portion is the same as the ratio of the larger
portion to the smaller portion. As such, it symbolically links each
new generation to its ancestors, preserving the continuity of
relationship as the means for retracing its lineage.
The golden ratio (phi) has some unique properties and makes
some interesting appearances:
phi = phi^2 1; therefore 1 + phi = phi^2; phi + phi^2 =

phi^3; phi^2 + phi^3= phi^4; ad infinitum.
phi = (1 + square root(5)) / 2 from quadratic formula, 1 +

phi = phi^2.
phi = 1 + 1/(1 + 1/(1 + 1/(1 + 1/(1 + 1/(1 + 1/)))))
phi = 1 + square root(1 + square root(1 + square root(1

+ square root(1 + square root(1 + )))))
phi = (sec 72)/2 =(csc 18)/2 = 1/(2 cos 72) = 1/(2 sin 18)
= 2 sin 54 = 2 cos 36 = 2/(csc 54) = 2/ (sec 36) for all you
trigonometry enthusiasts.
phi = the ratio of segments in a 5-pointed star

(pentagram) considered sacred to Plato and Pythagoras in their
mystery schools. Note that each larger (or smaller) section is
related by the phi ratio, so that a power series of the golden ratio
raised to successively higher (or lower) powers is automatically
generated: phi, phi^2, phi^3, phi^4, phi^5, etc.

phi = ratio of adjacent terms of the famous Fibonacci

Series evaluated at infinity; the Fibonacci Series is a rather
ubiquitous set of numbers that begins with one and one and
each term thereafter is the sum of the prior two terms, thus:
1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144 (interesting that the 12th term
is 12 raised to a higher power, which appears prominently in a
vast collection of metaphysical literature)
The mathematician credited with the discovery of this series is
Leonardo Pisano Fibonacci and there is a publication devoted to
disseminating information about its unique mathematical
properties, The Fibonacci Quarterly
Fibonacci ratios appear in the ratio of the number of spiral arms
in daisies, in the chronology of rabbit populations, in the
sequence of leaf patterns as they twist around a branch, and a

myriad of places in nature where self-generating patterns are in
effect. The sequence is the rational progression towards the
irrational number embodied in the quintessential golden ratio.
This most aesthetically pleasing proportion, phi, has been
utilized by numerous artists since (and probably before!) the
construction of the Great Pyramid. As scholars and artists of
eras gone by discovered (such as Leonardo da Vinci, Plato, and
Pythagoras), the intentional use of these natural proportions in
art of various forms expands our sense of beauty, balance and
harmony to optimal effect. Leonardo da Vinci used the Golden
Ratio in his painting of The Last Supper in both the overall
composition (three vertical Golden Rectangles, and a decagon
(which contains the golden ratio) for alignment of the central
figure of Jesus.

Greece is enclosed by a Golden Rectangle by design.
The Square Root of 3 and the Vesica Piscis
The Vesica Piscis is formed by the intersection of two circles or

spheres whose centers exactly touch. This symbolic intersection
represents the common ground, shared vision or mutual
understanding between equal individuals. The shape of the
human eye itself is a Vesica Piscis. The spiritual significance of
seeing eye to eye to the mirror of the soul was highly
regarded by numerous Renaissance artists who used this form
extensively in art and architecture. The ratio of the axes of the
form is the square root of 3, which alludes to the deepest nature
of the triune which cannot be adequately expressed by rational
language alone.
Spirals
This spiral generated by a recursive nest of Golden Triangles

(triangles with relative side lengths of 1, phi and phi) is the
classic shape of the Chambered Nautilus shell. The creature
building this shell uses the same proportions for each expanded
chamber that is added; growth follows a law which is
everywhere the same. The outer triangle is the same as one of
the five arms of the pentagonal graphic above.
Toroids
Rotating a circle about a line tangent to it creates a torus, which

is similar to a donut shape where the center exactly touches all
the rotated circles. The surface of the torus can be covered
with 7 distinct areas, all of which touch each other; an example
of the classic map problem where one tries to find a map
where the least number of unique colors are needed. In this 3dimensional case, 7 colors are needed, meaning that the torus
has a high degree of communication across its surface. The

Dimensionality
The progression from point (0-dimensional) to line (1dimensional) to plane (2-dimensional) to space (3-dimensional)
and beyond leads us to the question if mapping from higher
order dimensions to lower ones loses vital information (as we
can readily observe with optical illusions resulting from third to
second dimensional mapping), does our fixation with a 3dimensional space introduce crucial distortions in our view of
reality that a higher-dimensional perspective would not lead us
to?
Fractals and Recursive Geometries
There is a wealth of good literature on this subject; its always

fascinating how nature propagates the same essence
regardless of the magnitude of its expressionour spirit is
spaceless yet can manifest aspects of its individuality at any
scale.
Perfect Right Triangles
The 3/4/5, 5/12/13 and 7/24/25 triangles are examples of right

triangles whose sides are whole numbers. The graphic above
contains several of each of these triangles. The 3/4/5 triangle is
contained within the so-called Kings Chamber of the Great
Pyramid, along with the 2/3/root5 and 5/root5/2root5 triangles,
utilizing the various diagonals and sides.
The Platonic Solids
Here are LOTS of math details and images of the Platonic

The 5 Platonic solids (Tetrahedron, Cube or (Hexahedron),

Octahedron, Dodecahedron and Icosahedron) are ideal, primal
models of crystal patterns that occur throughout the world of
minerals in countless variations. These are the only five regular
polyhedra, that is, the only five solids made from the same
equilateral, equiangular polygons. To the Greeks, these solids
symbolized fire, earth, air, spirit (or ether) and water
respectively. The cube and octahedron are duals, meaning that
one can be created by connecting the midpoints of the faces of
the other. The icosahedron and dodecahedron are also duals of
each other, and three mutually perpendicular, mutually bisecting
golden rectangles can be drawn connecting their vertices and
midpoints, respectively. The tetrahedron is a dual to itself.
From April, 2000 through (at least) December, 2003, we
conducted a poll on which Platonic Solid folks liked best; heres
the results from that period. If theres interest, Ill start another
poll to see if the preferences has shifted!

The Archimedean Solids
There are 13 Archimedean solids, each of which are composed

of two or more different regular polygons. Interestingly, 5
(Platonic) and 13 (Archimedean) are both Fibonacci numbers,
and 5, 12 and 13 form a perfect right triangle.

Male and Female Aspects in Creation
There are male and female aspects within creation that are so
interspersed, so uniform throughout, that it almost defies logic,
and yet it is perfectly logical when fully realized in its potential. It
is the order within chaos, the law and codes put into place within
everything, great and small, so that you cannot look anywhere
and not see it. There is a third aspect, besides male and female
and from which they came, and that is a unified whole
containing both - the male-female combination (an androgyne of
sorts)... this is the original Spirit Energy that pervades and
permeates all of Creation. This all-encompassing original
source Energy containing both aspects and is in perfect
harmony. This is the beginnings of what sacred geometry is
about.

heavens, to all world religions, the plant kingdom, and the
animal kingdom, etc. A Biblical literalist cannot explain how or
why, when the "Eve" was taken out of the "Adam" it also
affected ALL LIFE ON EARTH as well... did God also remove
the "rib" ("chamber" in the Hebrew - the feminine reproductive
aspect of creation, the womb) from every animal at the same
time? We have male and female lions today, with their inherent
differences, as well as male and female parts of the plants,
many of them being androgynes. Even the original "Adam" was
an androgyne... the perfect being created in God's image,
having both parts in union within "him."
Male and Female in the Microcosm and Macrocosm

You will find BOTH male and female aspects in the macrocosm
as well as the microcosm... in ALL things you will find both
aspects; although, you will find (as in people) that one will rule
over the other, being the majority in either female or male
aspects so that you can call it "female" or "male." So as the
microcosm contains both, you will also find the main idea is this:
microcosm = female (hidden, underlying, quiet or invisible
processes)
macrocosm = male (obvious, overlying, loud or visible
processes)
The smallest parts in the universe include atoms. An atom
consists of a nucleus, which is made up of protons, neutrons,
and the outer electron shell - the electron(s). This microcosm
reality is but the type and order established at the base level
which the macrocosm copies. This is the order contained
naturally within the universe. The pattern from which everything
is derived. The intelligence and order behind what some would
consider chaos.

Protons = Male
Electrons = Female
Neutrons = Male-Female
Note that the protons (the positively charged parts) are male,
the electrons (negatively charged parts) orbiting the nucleus are
female, and the neutrons (male-female androgynes) are
contained within the nucleus. Because of this, we have a center
which is predominately male, consisting of the protons AND the
male aspects (which includes the female aspects) of the
neutrons. But it is the electrons which provide the movement
and change from one form into another. Females, as most
males know, are all about change. The old adage is that if a
woman feels one way now, just wait 5 minutes and she'll
completely change her mind! Interestingly enough, Dr. Bruce
Cornet (a geologist, palynologist, paleobotanist, and biologist,
not to mention a very dear person to my heart) recently asked
me, "If you could sum up what Chemistry is in one sentence
what would you call it?" I thought for a minute and was clueless,
so I asked him, "What?" His answer was,
"Chemistry is the movement of electrons."
Chemistry, then, is a feminine process. Interestingly enough, as
men are known for status, strength, and ego, women are known
for sharing and bonding between people (typically, other
females). The interaction of electrons around atoms can result
in two or more atoms joining together, a process known as
what?..... BONDING. Different females bond differently,
depending. If atoms of two or more different elements bond, the
resulting substance is a COMPOUND. Most minerals are
compounds, although gold, silver, and several others are
exceptions. There are several types of bonding, IONIC
BONDING, COVALENT BONDING, METALLIC AND VAN DER
WAALS BONDING.

atom, and one gained by the other atom) between atoms,
producing one fewer electron (negative charge) than it has
protons (positive charge) so that it becomes an electrically
charged particle called an ION. Ionic bonds form because of the

forms a new bond, but with different charges/status).

Covalent bonding forms between atoms when their electron
shells overlap and electrons are shared. For example, atoms of
the same element, such as oxygen in oxygen gas, cannot bond
by transferring electrons from one atom to another, so adjacent
atoms share electrons by overlapping their electron shells. This
is connection (a combining of both parties forms this type of
bond, like between best friends).
Metallic bonding results from an extreme type of electron
sharing. Electrons of the outmost electron shell of metals such
as gold, silver, and copper are readily lost and move about from
one atom to another (extreme flexibility/movement of the
feminine aspect). This electron mobility accounts for metals'
metallic luster (appearance in reflected light - and many women
love flashy metal jewelry), their good electrical and thermal
conductivity, and their malleability. Only a few minerals possess
metallic bonds, but those that do are very useful; copper, for
example, is used for electrical wiring because of its high
electrical conductivity. Electrical aspects are male (more on that
below) so the movement of the feminine aspect actually creates
a male conduit of energy due to networking (like a strong
business woman who is resourceful and sharp and perfectly at
ease in a male dominated society). This is the strongest form of
bonding.
Van der Waals bonding or residual bonding between some
electrically neutral (androgenous) atoms and molecules have no
electrons available for ionic, covalent, or metallic bonding. They
nevertheless have a weak attractive force between them when
in proximity. For example, carbon atoms in the mineral graphite
covalently bond to form sheets, but the sheets are weakly held
together by van der Waals bonds. This type of bonding in
graphite makes it useful for pencil leads; when a pencil is moved
across a piece of paper, small pieces of graphite flake off along
the planes held together by van der Waals bonds and adhere to
the paper. This is the weakest form of bonding.
Minerals are made up of atoms bonded together. By definition
minerals are crystalline solids in which the constituent atoms are
arranged in a regular, three-dimensional framework (more
shapes in sacred geometry - cubic, dodecahedron, octahedrons,
etc. - the stuff in which our world was formed/created). Not all
rigid substances are crystalline solids; natural and manufactured
glass both lack the ordered arrangement of atoms and are said
to be amorphous, meaning without form (much like "the earth
was without form, and void," in the beginning of creation). It
took time (more on time later) for the formless to take shape and
grow and form.
Electricity = Female (paradox: some say this is male)
Magnetics = Male (paradox: some say this is female)
Electromagnetics = Male-Female
(electromagnetics = light - an electric field with a magnetic field
moving 90 degrees to this wave, rotating/spiraling as it moves)
Within the microcosm there are forces and energies at work
continually. Positive and negative charges (as in ions, etc.)
constitute electrical charges (electrons are female) which affect
magnetics (positive/negative poles - an unseen force within
distinct poles). Electromagnetics are a powerful force together,
and are, ultimately, and intimately interrelated.
The macrocosm mimics the microcosm, or vice versa. Where
we have electrons (female) orbiting a nucleus (predominately
male (protons) but also having some feminine (male-female
neutrons) aspects) in the microcosm, we have planets (female)
orbiting a central sun (nucleus - predominately male, but with
some lesser female aspects).

EARTH = Female (BODY: i.e. "mother earth", intuition, earth

Silica Tetrahedron

constituent atoms are arranged in a regular, three-dimensional
framework. The regular geometric shape of a well-formed
mineral crystal is the exterior manifestation of an ordered

Tree of Life Symbology

The tree of life are the Ten Sefirot as understood in Kabbalah
(Kabbalah means "receiving" or "that which has been received" Jewish Mysticism). These branches spreading off of the original
vine (spirit-energy) are about creation and how it affects humans
on earth, and how to transcend this earthly existence into the

Math is the universal language, and the universe could not exist

C.G. It was as if I had awakened from a foggy dream to discovered a
totally new and spiritually intimate universe. Suddenly I was filled
with a child-like enthusiasm to really learn. And there he was:
someone who seemed to know ALL. It seemed miraculous, and shortly
after we discovered one another he told me he had a very specific plan
for my esoteric education which I was to follow explicitly. He was
teaching me a method of study and convinced me his sequence of
learning was imperative. Astrology was not part of that early teaching.
I never thought of resisting him because he was my Guru and I trusted
him completely. Years later, he told me I would eventually study
Astrology and said I would know the appropriate moment. He was
exactly right....as ever.
L.P. That's fascinating. So evidently the time was right and you met
Pamela.
C.G. "Yes, It was amazing....another miracle. By that time I had been
studying Sacred Geometry for years and could clearly see its esoteric
relationship to Astrology. I realized it was time to begin a dialog with a
professional astrologer and a mutual friend introduced us. For me it
was love at first sight....powerful chemistry. I found we were both
doing essentially the same thing: meditating on Sacred Geometry. I
was creating Mandalas and she was creating astrological charts for her
clients....a different form of Mandala making.
One of the most profound aspects of Pamela's work was that she did
not use a computer to create her charts. She did them all by hand. The
time and focus it took to do that encouraged her to slip into very deep
levels of open-eyed Meditation. That intense discipline was one of the
things that made her so extraordinary, allowing her oracular talents to
flower. I could relate. I was doing the same thing: spending hours and
hours in deep meditation with the archetypes of geometry. We were
made for one another.....understood one another. We taught each other

L.P. "Yes, good. I have a question, Charles. How dose it actually
work? I mean modern science has no explanation. In fact, most
scientists believe Astrology has no validity what so ever. But after all
these thousands of years, astrology is more popular than ever. How
does it work?"
C.G. "As ever Leslie, a great first question. Pamela was truly gifted.
She totally blew my mind on a regular basis. Through her studies,
experience, and her very deep astrological meditations, Pamela was
able to see into the heart her clients issues and energies. She gave wise
and sensitive consultation. She also regularly made very accurate
predictions which seemed magical and consistently stunned a lot of her

L.P. "It see what you are saying, Charles. In ancient times, way before
the printing press, anyone would have been able to create a clock like
division of the circle with only those simple tools: a compass and
straightedge. That is extremely interesting, a great example of natural
evolution....just simple logic.
C.G. "Simple is good, Leslie. Even a small child playing with a little
divided twig (used as a compass) could create the first icons of Sacred
Geometry in the soft earth. The perfections of Sacred Geometry are so
simple and pure."
L.P."Lets talk about your large Mandala on Astrology, entitled
1-2-3-4-12 (Fig 4). Explain the numbers, Please? Knowing you, there
must be some significance."
C.G. "Simple, really. Astrology divides The Circle into various parts,
one part, two parts, three parts, four parts and twelve parts: 1-2-3-4-12.
I left out some of the sub divisions, but you get the idea."
L.P. "I think I see. talk more about these parts. Tell me about this
Mandala."
C.G. "You tell me, Leslie. What do YOU see?"
L.P. "OK, we can do it that way. Let me see: it's an acrylic Mandala on
canvas, of course, and it seems to be relatively classical in the sense
that it makes reference to the four traditional doorways at the four
cardinal points. It's about three foot square and there are various
overlapping geometries inside; squares and triangles and circles. Of
course there are the twelve signs of the zodiac. The radiating aspect is
also very strong. Those waving lines at the outside are very energetic.
C.G. "Yes, there are 360 of those vibrating lines, Leslie, each
representing one degree. Astrology also divides the circle into 360
parts, one of the divisions I left out of the title."
L.P. "I see that, Charles....very precise. Let's talk about the various
parts. What about the twelve parts, or houses as the astrologers call
them."
C.G. "The first two outside circles represent the astrological chart with
the twelve houses. The horizontal line in the middle represents Earth's
horizon extended into space with the first house (Aries) in its
traditional place on the left and just below the horizon. Our planet
Earth is in the center with daylight above and darkness below.
L.P. "Let me interrupt a little Charles. Skeptics have always criticized
Astrology because it places the Earth at the center of the universe.
Comment on that point of contention, if you will."
C.G. "In the astrological sense, the Earth IS the center of the universe,
as it relates to the mapping of the movements of the stars. If we lived
on the Moon, and were mapping the heavenly bodies, the Moon would
then become the center of the universe and the Earth would be that
large multi colored world hanging in the black sky. And what a strange
astrology that would be. If we lived on the so called dark side of the
moon, we would never even see the Earth."
L.P. "So, you are saying this old criticism of Astrology somehow
misses the point?"
C.G. "Exactly! Some people just will not even try to get it. It's not
rocket science. If we lived on Phoebe (the first moon of Saturn) we
would still be at the astrological center of the universe and the
mapping of the heavenly bodies would be a very bazaar astrology
indeed, that huge sphere with its fantastic rings dominating, the sun but
a bright dot of light in a black sky and many times completely

L.P. "All right, let's get back to the astrological chart and its Twelve
houses with our Earth as the center of the universe."
C.G. "Each of the twelve houses is 30 degrees wide and, on our world,
represents about two hours, plus or minus. It takes one day (24 hours)

rotate with it. As pre-birth water creatures, it takes about 270 of these
revolutions for us to fully develop in our mothers womb. The moment

Mandala. It contains three overlapping squares all touching the outer
circle and marking the division of the twelve houses. Each is a
different color: Yellow, Red, and Blue. What's that all about?
C.G. "The Metaphysical system of Astrology divides the universe into
three major parts and contemplates these parts as a great mystery. All
philosophical systems do the same and assign various theories to this
natural Trinity....this Threeness. Of course the Christian tradition calls
this cosmic Trinity: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost; but
there are numerous points of view. For the Hindu vision of the Great
Trinity, we could look to the wondrous caves of Elephanta, India,
which holds a colossal bust with three faces; Brahma, the Creator;
Vishnu, The Preserver; and Siva the Destroyer. The three
manifestations of the Ultimate Reality. Astrology defines the Trinity
as: the Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable aspects, or the Spiritual, Material
and Mental aspects respectively.
Three Squares fit perfectly within the twelve houses. The yellow
square in this Mandala points to the Cardinal signs: the first house
(Aries) the fourth house (Cancer) The seventh house (Libra) and the
tenth house (Capricorn). The red square points to the Fixed, or material
signs of the zodiac: the second house (Taurus) the fifth house (Leo) the
eighth house (Scorpio) and the eleventh house (Aquarius). And the
Blue square (the mutable or mental aspect) points to the third house
(Gemini) the sixth house (Virgo) the ninth house (Sagittarius) and the
twelfth house (Pisces)."
L.P. "I'm beginning To see, Charles. What about the triangles in the
next Circle?"
C.G. "Esoteric astrology also sees the cosmos divided into four
parts....Fourness, also known as the Four Elements. The ancient words
defining the elements are: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, and four
triangles fit perfectly into the twelve houses. The fire signs of the
zodiac, in this case represented by the orange triangle, are Aries, Leo,
and Sagittarius. The Earth signs are: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn; the
brown triangle. The Air signs are: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius; the
sky blue triangle. And the Water signs are: Cancer, Scorpio, and
Pisces; represented by the Aqua colored triangle."
L.P. "Interesting, Charles. I see what you are doing with the three
squares and four triangles; but I could never quite figure out this
elemental idea of Fire, Earth, Air, and, Water. It seems too simple,
almost naive. Can you explain it in a more scientifically appropriate
way? Is that possible?"
C.G. "Of course. Leslie. No metaphysical system is valid unless it can
comfortably interrelate with scientific realities. The ancient sages
contemplated the Fourness of the universe and came to this
scientifically valid conclusions: All manifestations of the universe
must, by principle, be composed from at least one of these four
elemental qualities: Fire, Earth, Air, or Water. The astrological word
Fire, does not just mean the fire we see when a log burns. Elemental
Fire really means all radiant energy, the entire spectrum of radiant
energy. From this point of view, even radio waves would be
considered Elemental Fire. Earth, means all solid forms; the quality of
solidity. In this sense, Ice (frozen water) is no longer liquid and is
therefore Elemental Earth. The Elemental Air, is not just hydrogen,
oxygen and carbon dioxide, etc., but all things gaseous or vaporous.
Elemental Water is actually actually describing the universal quality of
liquidity, all forms of liquidity. From this elemental point of view, the
extremely cold liquid hydrogen would be considered Elemental Water,
and very hot liquid gold would also be considered Elemental Water."
This system also points to the possibility, and indeed the probability,
that a given thing will change its elemental nature from one form to
another. A solid log on fire (Earth) is being transmuted into radiant
energy (Elemental Fire) and various gasses (Elemental Air) and of
course carbon ash (another form of Elemental Earth). A pool of Water
(Elemental Water) changes its elemental nature becoming (Elemental
Earth) or (Elemental Air) as it freezes or evaporates."
L.P. "Excellent, Charles. After all these years of confusion I finally
understand that ancient concept of the Four Elements. I find it amazing
that these ancient minds could have truly grasp these unchanging and
very esoteric realities, especially without any scientific technology. It

parts. What about the two parts?"
C.G. "Yes, Duality. Twoness! This archetypal quality of the universe is
one of the great mysteries and the contemplation of duality occupies
energy (Elemental Fire) and various gasses (Elemental Air) and of

course carbon ash (another form of Elemental Earth). A pool of Water
(Elemental Water) changes its elemental nature becoming (Elemental

an omnipresent and omnipotent duel force at the heart of all
manifestation. In the East, this dual force is called Yin and Yang. The
Hermetic philosophers call this duality Gender Energy, and in the

The popular contemporary concept of the so called Left and Right
brains, is also defining this arcane duality. It literally makes the
galaxies spin. Gender Energy is the omnipresent and omnipotent force
at the heart of ALL. Mantaining relative balance within this dynamic is

L.P. "Yes, balance. I see the famous Yin/Yang at the center of your
Mandala. Let's talk about the Center of this Mandala.
C.G. "The center of this Mandala makes reference to the major
divisional qualities of the Astrological system. At the precise center we
find the Bindu, or single point. This is the symbol of unity, the ultimate
expression of the holistic. The Bindu is The First archetype of Sacred
Geometry, from which all form evolves. The circle which encloses the
twelve houses is also an expression of unity or wholeness....Oneness.
But our universe is created through the division of that unity and
necessarily, all individual expressions of universal Oneness are based
in duality; hence the Yin/Yang; The Projective and The
Receptive....Unity into Duality.
Next comes The Trinity (The Equilateral Triangle: the Cardinal, Fixed,

time with it. But I'm still curious. I see another division of our circle
we haven't talked about. What about those strange little shapes of
bright color....the yellow, red and blue forms between the three squares
and the four triangles.
C.G. "This is a fairly esoteric aspect of Astrology, Leslie, which I
know Pamela contemplated in her meditations. Each of the 12 houses
or signs in the Zodiac represents a 30 degree section of the heavens,
and each of those houses are divided into 3 parts: 10 degrees each.
These sections are called The Decants (36 parts of the circle) and they
are associated with the Astrological trinity: the Cardinal, Fixed, and
Mutable. Each of the 36 decants are associated with one of those three
qualities. It's kind of a sub rhythm of trinity within the larger rhythm of
that same archetypal trinity. The 12 yellow decants are Cardinal
(Spiritual); the 12 red decants are Fixed (Physical/Material); and the 12
blue decants are Mutable (Mental). This rythm is very interesting to

moving in the opposite direction, that's ridiculous. But that is what
they occasionally appear do within the astrological map. For instance:
As you know, the planet Mercury is our Sun's closest neighbor.
Mercury is relatively close to the Sun (about 58 million kilometers)
and orbits the Sun about three times faster than the Earth (every 88
days). In the astrological chart, Mercury is never very far from the Sun.
When you see the Sun, Mercury can never be farther than 28 degrees
away. Mercury moves with the rest of the planets as it crosses the Sun
on the back side, but as it continues to revolve around the Sun, it
appears to move backward as it swings around and moves in front of
the Sun; backing up in the astrological map. That's Mercury in
retrograde. As it reaches the lower part of its orbit and once more
begins its swing behind the Sun, it appears to change direction again.
This natural cycle repeats about three times per year."
L.P. "I get it Charles. Again, totally understandable when you really
look at it. I have no idea what was blocking me on that one. I am sure
we could go on and on but we need to bring this interview to an end.

mostly the fire element, and the symbology of the nucleus
(protons/neutrons form a more male aspect, although it contains
some female too). Abraham was told that his descendants
would be numbered like the stars in the heavens. The male
aspect of a star is simply the fiery energy and drive and light and
heat energy which gives life to the more feminine aspects which
surround and encircle it.
If some people are stars which give off light, what happens
when some die out or explode into a great flash of light
(supernova) or turn into a black hole (no light given off)?
A black hole is the grave of a star, when it loses all its fuel it
collapses (pit with no bottom - the "bottomless pit"?). Within the
black hole is a gravitational vacuum.... the closer you get to a
black hole, the greater the gravitational field. The greater the
gravity, the more space-time is stretched, and slowed. If you
were far away from a black hole and watched your friend flying
in a rocket toward the black hole, he would get closer and closer
and finally, in a split second, cross the "event horizon" (the place
of no return - the gravity boundary) and disappear into the black
hole. To you, the entire thing would take but seconds because
YOUR perspective is from the outside, but because your friend
is nearer to the event horizon before he crosses it into the black
hole, the whole experience (for him only) is slowed down to
nearly forever and it could seem like eons before he finally
disappears into the black hole. It's all perspective, placement,
space-time-gravity dependent, and RELATIVE. Black holes are
a symbol of negativity, bending light and sucking in stars (eating
them, like a psychic vampire or a person who steals other
peoples' energy, users and abusers, selfishness, like a force
unto its own, containing no light of its own, but stealing everyone
else's). Once past the gravity boundary (event horizon) you hit
something called the singularity in the middle of the black hole.
It is not yet known what happens at this point.
Quasars (the remains of a star) are on outer rim of universe
moving almost as fast as speed of light, but just before burn-out
it turns into a black hole.
Supernovae are of two kinds:
Type1 probably happen in binary stars (closely orbiting stars)
when one of the stars is a small, dense, white dwarf star. If the
orbiting star gets too close to the white dwarf then gravity would
draw matter from the other star... when the white dwarf gets 1.4
times as big as the Sun with the matter, it collapses into a
supernova.
Type 2 occurs when a star much more massive than our Sun
ends its life (like the death of a person) the star starts burning
out. The core quickly collapses releasing amazing energy as
neutrinos (a particle smaller than an atom which passes through
everything, even the earth does not stop neutrinos) and
electromagnetic radiation (energy that is electric (male) and
magnetic (female)). It explodes in a supernova.
Supernovae shine brightest for only a few days, and after a few
weeks or months or even years they start to fade. Some
supernovae leave a small, dense, neutron star behind
(composed of mainly neutrons - if it spins fast and is highly
magnetized (female) it is a pulsar). Other supernovae leave an
object called a black hole, or just an expanding shell of their
outer layers. Supernovae are most often found in the brighter,
larger, and older galaxies instead of the faint, smaller, younger
ones. Spiral galaxies (such as ours - another aspect of malefemale since spirals include symbols such as DNA, etc.) make
more supernovae than egg-shaped ones. Our Sun is not
orbiting a white dwarf, nor is it large enough to become a
supernova. It would take a billion years from now before our
Sun (son, Jesus, Ra, Horus, light-giver) to run out of fuel and
swell into a red giant star before going into a white dwarf form.
When our Sun uses up all of its helium gas, it will collapse with a
huge explosion causing debris to fly out into space to help form
new solar systems, starting the whole system over again (the
great play of life, the great story retold over and over, the neverending circle, alpha and omega (beginning and the end)... all of
which are in the form of a circle, which has it's beginning at it's
end, looping forever. Continual creation. If God is truly a
Creator, then it would make sense that He/She would continue
to create, and create, and create. WE, are co-creators with
God... not alone are we God (as mere pieces of the original
whole of God), but separate, with God WITHIN us, we are gods
(Psalms 82:6).

When I was young I had a book called Mathemagic which
detailed the differences in numbers (odd numbers being male
and even numbers being female) and I later learned that the
alphabet was considered similarly, where consonants, having a
HARD sound (requiring the lips to close, or the tongue to touch
the palate, etc. in order to pronounce them) were male, and
vowels (A,E,I,O,U) having a SOFT sound (able to be
pronounced with the mouth open and no use of the tongue or
lips) being female. Consonants are many, having different
sounds (split into many specialized sounds a male aspect),
and vowels are few, are much more versatile/flexible, can stand
alone or be used in different combinations, and create new
sounds (this lumping/bonding effect is a female aspect). If
sounds and harmonics (realize music is a feminine right-brained
thing even though it sometimes includes consonants (in singing)
can have male-female aspects, then what about language
itself? It is here that we realize that the power of the spoken
WORD is so powerful. It is thought and energy manifested into
being.
I thought it was interesting as a child to learn that in Spanish
they have words with gender. In English it is not so much this
way, but in Spanish, like "mesa" (which means table) it is
feminine. I had never thought of a table as a female! To me, it
had always seemed neutral. But in most languages of the world
there are feminine and male aspects to words and their
meanings. In Spanish the words el and la are used before
words like mesa. El is masculine, and la is feminine. To say
"the table" in Spanish, one would say, "la mesa." If you used "el
mesa" then it would be incorrect. So when learning a new
language like this you also have to learn the gender of the
meanings of words! In English, although we don't necessarily
have words with gender connotations, we do have certain
things/objects which are considered to be male or female. A
good example would be a boat/ship, or a car, a plane or space
shuttle... these are all considered to be females. A pirate on his
ship will say, "She's a mighty good ship." Men throughout
history have attributed a female aspect to things they ride in, or
that brings them movement (remember the electrons' movement
bringing a change), or a change of scenery by going from place
to place. Women are the common motivators of change, often
being more flexible than the left-brainness of men, which is
typically standardized and methodical and unchanging in
processes. Men, however, bring stability and strength
(structural foundation), where women are considered to be more
emotional and unstable (chemistry which creates bonds).
Left-brain = Male (speech, judgement/objective, logic, linear,
analytical, rational (western))
Right-brain = Female (emotion, feeling, art, comprehension,
creativity, divergent, intuitive, holistic (eastern))
Balanced-brained = Male-female (equal in both aspects,
pulling from both sides harmoniously)
The term "mankind" (remember that MANkind inherently
includes the feminine aspect) is a patriarchal form. Many of the
worlds' religions are patriarchal, and interestingly enough, even
the feminine religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) were borne
from one of the oldest known religions, Judaism, and Kabbalah
(Jewish Mysticism - where many of these male-female aspects
are taught and known as a code and archetype of how the
universe was created, rather than taking the Bible or Torah only
from a literal standpoint). Christianity and all its factions and
doctrines, creeds, and church religions from Catholicism to
Protestants to New Age to Fundamentalists, all stemmed from
Judaism as well. Judaism, however, although the most
renowned and influential monotheistic religion in the world, still
got its teachings and traditions from a higher source.... the
ultimate TRUTH of which a piece (or pieces) of lies within the
heart of all religions of the world. Just as no one religion is THE
truth by itself, no one person is THE God by him/herself. All
religions have a common thread of truth running through them,
just as all peoples have a common thread of God (Male-Female
Spirit-Energy) running through them, making them "gods"
individually, but GOD collectively, if joined together with the
unified energy of the entire universe(s) on ALL levels. This is
infinite and beyond comprehension for the left-brain (male side
from one of the oldest known religions, Judaism, and Kabbalah

What is "right" in some peoples' minds (depending on how they
were raised, and where in the world, under a patriarchal or
matriarchal society) is not always what is correct universally.
For some, like the Jews, the father of the house is the leader of
the household and has the final say so in all things. The woman
is believed to receive her spirituality from God THROUGH the
man. Only if she is single does she receive God through
herself. This is the same aspect taught in Christianity where
Paul speaks of a woman being under subjection to the man
(husband) and obeying him in all things. BUT, the man is also
told, consequently, to love his wife as himself. Remember that
men are (typically, in patriarchal societies) about status and ego,
and that they are often in love with themselves in some fashion
whereas the woman is typically more flexible, giving up herself
and thinking of her husband and children before herself (not in
all cases, obviously). Where this arrangement works good for
both parties if they agree to it, believe it, and live it, it takes
BOTH parties doing their part in order for there to be harmony.
If, lets say, the woman does her part continually and faithfully,
but the man loves himself and his ideas and wants his way ALL
of the time, the woman will feel used and unloved and there will
be friction in the relationship and ultimately a breakdown of the
marriage may ensue. But, turning the tables here, if the man
does his part, loving his wife as himself, and giving himself for
her in all things, and the woman does not respect the man and
give him the status he needs to feel as strong and as competent
as he should, then he will go away from the marriage feeling
unloved as well, disrespected, and shamed. It goes both ways.
Matriarchal, or patriarchal, it doesn't matter. Matriarchal
societies such as the Native Americans have had, work well for
them (women naturally run the home more efficiently than men,
typically), just as patriarchal societies such as the Jews have
had also work well for them, bringing their left-brained
dominance into play, being some of the most wealthy peoples
on the planet. Do you see a trend here? Matriarchal societies
tend to be happy and in communion with each other, peaceful,
whereas patriarchal societies tend to be ego-driven, status and
money oriented. There are always exceptions to the rules
however.
What caused all of these matriarchal/patriarchal societies to
begin with (within the races) is commonly a left or right brained
functioning of the people themselves. Right-brained people
(men or women) are typically more spiritual, peaceful, artistic,
and laid back types. Left-brained people (men or women) are
more driven, more into the physical world, humanity, math, and
logical. The real deal is that both men and women, although
typically "typed out" as women being predominately rightbrained, and men being predominately left-brained, can really be
either! BOTH GENDERS HAVE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE
ASPECTS IN THEM (just as both genders have two
hemispheres of the brain), it's just that one usually predominates
over the other. Neither one predominating the other is either
"right" or "wrong." It's not uncommon to see a male who is rightbrained and gentle-natured and a follower, and a woman who is
left-brained and aggressive and a leader. Frankly, I've
personally known some men that would make better women
(being seamstresses, cooks, able to run a household, who clean
and do dishes, and who make good counselors because of their
ability to bond and connect with people), just as I've known
some women who would make better men (having strong
personalities, being terrible at cooking but can fix broken-down
vehicles with ease, are Presidents of big companies, and who
are stronger in being able to judge situations effectively rather
than break down crying from too much emotion). The male
aspect is considered "strong," and the female aspect is
considered "weak," but the fact is that the "stronger" aspect in
the forefront is just one form of expression, just as the "weaker"
is the unseen force which is the ultimate force of movement and
change behind the scenes, another form of expression.
The right and left brain are merely dualities, polarizations, just
like good/evil, black/white, right hand of God (blessings)/left
hand of God (correction), yin/yang, destruction vs. creation,
winter solstice (cold)/summer solstice (heat), long/short, up/
down, fat/skinny, etc. One is not better than the other, but work
in harmony with each other.
Thought = Male (in the forefront, status - conscious)
Spirit = Female (behind the scenes, meek - subconscious)
Unified Thought & Spirit = Male-female harmony (balance)

of the brain and how it works. NLP is used in courtrooms and by

telling the truth. It's knowing how the brain is "wired" in people
(left-handers are typically cross-wired, although some righthanded people can be cross-wired). The left eye and left side of
the body is directed by the right hemisphere of the brain, just as
the right eye and the right side of the body is directed by the left
hemisphere of the brain.
Visual (seeing - energy/pattern recognition (male), spatial/
geometry (female))
Kinesthetic (feeling/sensing - female)
Auditory Tonal (understanding by tone/sound instead of
words/definition - female)
Auditory Ditigal (understanding by words/definition instead
of tone/sound - male)
Olfactory (smell - not crossed, L-brain=L nostril, R-brain=R
nostril, ?)
Gustatory (taste - ?)
The left brain (male aspect) is the logical thinking (science)
relying on facts and information allocated by speech and
definition, pattern recognition via analytical processes, and the
universal language of the universe... math.
The right brain (female aspect) is the understood feeling
(spirituality) relying on comprehension of symbols connected by
sound (harmonics/music/tone) and spatial geometrical shapes
(art) as well as feeling/sensing, intuition, inner knowing, trust.
Taking into account the aspects of the right/left and female/male
aspects of ourselves, made in the image of God, who is also
male/female energies, we must ask ourselves now,
Why is God considered a male when "He" is both male and
female?
Think about it. All the clues were given up above... follow the
original rules and laws of the universe set forth in the microcosm
and the macrocosm of our reality(ies). The sun is the Father of
thought who leads by verbal expression due to male dominance
within the nucleus of its being... the female planets and moons
is/are the Mother of intuition who follows and orbits the greater
gravity of the sun due to female energies which move and
change according to the seasons. God is considered male
(even though He is both) because that has been the order in
which the universe was constructed... after its Creator! Woman
is female and is the hidden force behind the movement and
represents true change. Man is the male and is the obvious
force causing the movement and represents stability. It's not
about patriarchal vs. matriarchal, nor is it about "right" or
"wrong"... It's simply a principle, not a prejudice!
Should a woman really let the man lead?
The answer to that question is easy.... which one in the
marriage/partnership/business deal/friendship/relationship is the
true right-brained feminine aspect (follower) and which one is
the true left-brained masculine aspect (leader)? Most are both,
but who is dominant in which way? Ideally, there is a sharing of
responsibilities where all is equal and certain tasks are allocated
to the one who is best at that particular aspect. I love to cook
but hate to do dishes. In our house we have the agreement that
I do the cooking and he enjoys being served, and he does the
dish cleaning and I am "served" in this way by not having to do
it. It works out well for us this way. Both of us, by the way, are
balanced-brained individuals. We have no problem with
crossing traditional barriers. Our brains function in a balanced
way, making use of both sides EQUALLY.
But what about other couples or partners who are not balancedbrained? Even gay/lesbian couples (in case there's still people
out there who haven't noticed!) take on the "traditional" roles of
male/female with one being dominant and aggressive
(masculine role) and the other more emotional and submissive
(female role). No matter what gender they are, or what sexual
preference people have, what it really boils down to is... HOW
ARE YOU WIRED? It is well known that women who lose their
husband to death or divorce, and must raise children on their
own tend to find their "maleness" qualities within themselves
which come out in time, so that they are both mother and father
to the children. Same goes for fathers who are no longer
married to a wife (provided either gender does not get or stay
involved in a new relationship which would remove this ability to
manifest opposite roles via left/right brain-dominance). People
can also rewire their brains... sometimes it happens by
conscious choice, sometimes subconsciously, and other times
through some kind of traumatic event which rewires them due to
the experience(s).
The point of all this is here... the principles involved are merely
to establish (within the universe) a sense of a source or giver,
and a vessel or receiver and a marriage (bonding) of the two for
procreation/continuing co-creation. God (energy) is the source
from which all things came, in whatever manner it came (the
order involved in a Big Bang throughout aeons of time with the
self-structure of laws put in place through evolution, or the Word
spoken for all of creation to be made in a literal 6 day period, or
whatever other view you may have in your belief system), and
"He" has the purpose of being the one who is in control, as the
leader, the director (thoughts and speech), and originator and
manipulator of our lives as groom/husband, and we (both men
and women) are to be the bride/wife (bride of Christ, if you are a
Christian), the female, the follower, the vessels of movement
and change and trust so that we may MARRY (join, bond,
become ONE) in a most ultimate promise of LOVE and
DEVOTION and COMMITMENT, with the female (us) obeying
the husband (God), and the husband (God) loving us as
Himself, giving Himself for us. Again, this is a principle... not a
prejudice. Once this is understood from a deeper level, then we
can realize that true prejudice and narrow-mindedness lies only
in the heart and minds of the ones who want it to be so by the

To know God, one must know thyself, for God (male and
female) lives within. Until we are in tune with this inner knowing
of right-brained realization then we are out of touch with
ourselves, the MOTHER side of God, and the energy of the
universe, and are therefore atheists, the ultimate in left-brain
thinking (separateness). Also, until we are in tune with the
abilities of logic, thought, reason, and purpose then we are out
of touch with our humanity, the FATHER part of God, and the
science of the universe, and are therefore flighty, lost, flying
aimlessly in an emotional cloud of air. A balance between
hemispheres (right/left - female/male) produces harmony in
thought and spirit. It is this union and balance which brings unity
and peace within.

The Mystery of Water, Blood and Neptune

Cancer the Mother is related to the manifestation of all
forms, whether it is the birth of souls coming into
incarnation and appropriating physical bodies, or soulinspired ideas precipitating onto the physical plane.
The Moon is the ruler of Cancer, governing the earthly
tides and building processes in nature. The Moon is
exalted in Taurus and rules Virgo esoterically; like
Cancer, both signs, are closely aligned with the feminine
principle and Mother Nature.
All three signs govern the northern hemisphere
symbolism of spring growth in Taurus, summer
maturation in Cancer and the final harvest in Virgo.
Cancer is a sign of ripening, of the baby arriving at full
term, the waters breaking and birth following. Cancer is
symbolically where the "idea of the soul" is fulfilled - its

urge to take incarnation or re-embodiment.
All these Moon-ruled signs are concerned with the

building of the form - a blade of grass, a flower, a
thought-form, a human being. The Moon is regarded
esoterically as having no spiritual significance, yet it
"veils" the energies of other planets such as Uranus,
Neptune or Vulcan, depending upon the soul's evolution
and its ruling ray; the nature of one of these three
planets is eventually revealed to the aspirant once the
illusion of the form nature is transcended.
Cancer is unique as a water sign, widely known for its
great emotional sensitivity. The majority of the planet is
water, it constitutes about 60% of the human body and
95% of the blood. The earth's tides are governed by the
gravitational force of our satellite the Moon, whilst the
oceans are ruled over by Neptune - the soul ruler of
Cancer the Crab. The crab lives between low water
mark and high tide, in a salty matrix that contains the
building blocks of life. Indeed, salt is a cube, one of the
five Platonic solids that are fundamental to sacred

Of course, Cancer is not only concerned with the
physical body. Neptune has an extremely important
function as the higher octave or soul ruler of Cancer.
Neptune represents that most elevated consciousness
that a human can attain ~ buddhi; this has a direct
reflection upon the astral plane. Neptune rules the blood
- the carrier of spiritual inspiration - and the life force
that keeps the physical body alive. Hence, Neptune
rules the cosmic and earthly oceans, as well as our
interior rivers and seas.
Neptune is closely allied with Love-Wisdom and the
Christ principle, which Cancer has the highest potential
of birthing. Yet, the rays of mind pass through Cancer,
the third ray of active intelligence and the seventh ray
of ceremonial order or magic. Saturn and Uranus are
manifesters and builders, the rulers of these two rays
respectively. Hence, Neptune's elusive, ethereal energy
is directed into Cancer the Cup, the container, the
womb.
These two rays contribute to Cancer's organisational

power and management of resources. The third and
seventh rays are pre-eminently the rays that shape and
refine forms on their path of precipitation into the outer
world - whether they are human bodies or
thoughtforms. Hence Cancer the Mother, births all
forms. The seventh ray is particularly important in this
process, as it is the incoming ray gaining strength in
this cycle, whilst the sixth ray of devotion swings out of
incarnation.
The seventh ray is the ray of sacred geometry and is
connected with the seventh plane, the physical-etheric.
The seventh ray, as it passes through the watery matrix
of Cancer, gives geometry to what is manifesting.
Hence the well known adage, "God geometrises".
Here lies a hint as to why the violet colour of the
seventh ray corresponds to the violet etheric body, the
true blueprint for the physical form.Neptune rules the
blood stream and is the carrier of the life principle, plus
the combined energies of the etheric body, nervous and
endocrine systems.[2] As stated earlier, the blood is
known to be 95% water.
Combining these facts opens a new realm of exploration
for scientists and occultists, determining the passage of
ray and astrological forces into the body - how to trace
the mechanism whereby originating energies finally
reach us, enter the body and circulate to its many
parts; this will bring Humanity eventually to a scientific
and occult understanding of the rays and astrology,
instead of our current mystical perception. The following
passage illustrates some of these investigations that are
underway:

"... the energy and information transmitted to the
watery robe comes from light, in particular the light of
the sun. Through the medium of water, light builds and
sustains the structure of all organisms ... Much of the
water in the healthy human body is in a liquid
crystalline/structured state and surrounds the DNA

electro-magnetic field.
So here we have a literal robe of water surrounding the
cells in our bodies, transmitting information to the DNA
on how to build the form. In turn, it is known that the
information is transmitted and imprinted into the
surrounding water by light so it seems that water is a
material building agent after all and the keynote of
Cancer, I build a lighted house and therein dwell,
applies on this physical level of expression too."[3]
This passage is a also a good illustration of "you are
what you think" - water, in its various expressions, is
impressed constantly by thoughts and feelings,

influencing and modifying the physical body. Likewise,
the language we use - some of us are "pirates" on
Neptune's ocean, using language inappropriately at
times (smirk!). All words direct the building devas who
obey blindly their 'commander', building inharmonious
or harmonious patterns into the etheric body. (The work
of Masaru Emoto was discussed in relation to this in
2013.) When language, affirmations and mantras can
shape our waters, then the results can be very
powerful:
"Through the practice of self-forgetfulness,
harmlessness and right speech, a redemptive
geometrizing power obtains unimpeded access to the
bloodstream which is ninety per cent water; thus is
created "a vessel meet for the Master's use".[4]
Indeed, "I build a lighted house and therein dwell". This
house can be the purified and redeemed personality how's your basement, a bit of rising damp?; what's
going on in the attic? Do you reside in your sundrenched living room or cower on some remote,
shadowy stairway? (Cancer is one of the most fearprone signs of the zodiac.)
Or, the "house" can symbolise the causal body of the
soul. Each incarnation is like a stone, "fashioned in the
quarry" of life experience; the soul extracts these
sattvas, these "rough hewn" stones now polished, to
build into its' temple.
Where women are revered and safeguarded, prosperity

reigns and the gods rejoice.
The New Epoch under the rays of Uranus [Aquarius] will
bring the renaissance of woman.
The Epoch of Maitreya is the Epoch of the Mother of the
World.

The ongoing redemption of, and by the personality
makes the causal body grow and expand,
"... from being a colourless ovoid, holding the Ego like a
yolk within the egg-shell [how very Cancerian], to a
thing of rare beauty, containing within itself all the
colours of the rainbow. This is an occult fact ... the work
of the Personality ...
is first to beautify, build and
expand the causal body ... to withdraw within it the life

of the Personality, sucking the good out of the personal
life and storing it in the body of the Ego. We might term
this the Divine Vampirism, for always evil is but the

The specific gravity of the causal body fixes the moment

of emancipation and marks the time when the work of
beautifying and building is completed, when the Temple
of Solomon is erected, and when the weight (occultly
understood) of the causal body measures up to the
standard looked for by the Hierarchy.
Then [at the final stage of the path], the work of
destruction supervenes and liberation approaches.
Spring [Taurus] has been experienced, the full verdure
of summer [Cancer] has succeeded, now must be felt
the disintegrating force of autumn [Scorpio],only this
time it is felt and applied on mental levels and not on
the physical. The axe is laid to the root of the tree, but
the life essence is garnered into the divine

God Moved Upon the Face of the Waters

Genesis 1:2 says, "And the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters". This passage refers to creation
upon the cosmic and earthly levels, concerning spirit
and matter, male and female, or Capricorn-Cancer
(father-mother). There is an interesting correspondence
here to Sirius, that great guiding light for humanity.

The forces of Sirius pass through Cancer-Capricorn,
are focused through Saturn, reaching human souls.
As in the diagram, the Cancer-Capricorn axis facilitates
the flow of Sirian forces through Saturn, the Lord of
Karma - to the "great redeeming Angels, Who are the
Sons of Men on their own true plane". They are also
known as, "The Hearts of Fiery Love" who save through
love.[7]
Sirius is also placed in Cancer in the Western zodiac,
conjunct the USA Sun. Note also, that the next solar
festival in Leo celebrates the importance of Sirius. (See

Crop Circles: Patterns of Emerging Consciousness
It is the crop circle season again in the northern
hemisphere, particularly in Britain where most of them
appear. These enigmatic patterns intrigue many people,
though the general public do not understand or take
much notice of them, dumbed-down by the British
tabloids who continually foster the "fakery" of crop
circles.
Yet, for those who have visited and studied crop circles,
all agree that no human hand could have created them.
There is never any sign of wheat disturbed around a
newly formed circle until people start to walk in to view
them. The author has witnessed some circles with many
2" radiating straight lines through the wheat for long
distances, proving that no human could have created
these lines, without making obvious disturbances in the
surrounding wheat. The precision and intricacy of many
patterns would take weeks and months to duplicate;
they are known to appear in seconds or minutes, fully
formed.
Crop circles convey a non-linear language directly to the
heart, inspiring awe and wonder - even if the conscious
mind does not fully comprehend them. Individuals have
experienced all sorts of phenomena within the circles,
from profound healing or nausea, to electronics not
working. Often circles appear on ancient magnetised
sites where stone circles and other sacred places once
existed.

Crop circles are universal patterns that are at the core
of nature, occurring in 'nature' or human-created wheat
fields - as spirals, fractals, perfect geometrical patterns
that contain vast amounts of encoded information. The
circles are braided, woven and interlaced with an
astoundingly sublime symmetry and complexity.
Students of sacred geometry have written long treatises
about their meaning - and their astrological significance
in many cases.
There are of course many speculations about how the
circles were created, but most agree that some sort of
"electro-magnetic" force has created them. Electrical

measurements taken inside a crop circle are much
higher than outside of the circle. Theories range from
aliens to the deva kingdom, working under direction
from the Great White Brotherhood. Whatever the truth
that lies behind the circles, they are not going to
disappear too soon:

There was a mist about 2-3 feet off the ground and it
was sort of spinning around
and on the ground a circular shape was appearing,
which seemed to get bigger
and bigger, as simultaneously the mist got bigger and
bigger and swirled faster."
"The plants appear to be subjected to a short and
intense burst of heat which softens the stems to drop
just above the ground at 90, where they reharden into
their new and very permanent position without damage.
Plant biologists are baffled by this feature ... Highpressure infrasound is capable of boiling water inside
the stems in one nanosecond, expanding the water, and
leaving tiny blowholes in the plants' nodes. The
pressure applied also causes the water to steam, and it
is reported by farmers that when they stumble upon a
new crop circle they see steam rising from within the
design. This process creates surface charring along the
stems.
... With the heat and electro-magnetic frequencies
applied, it has been scientifically documented that soil
samples taken from within crop circles show changes to
its crystalline structure and mineral composition. Expert
analysis concludes that such a process requires
temperatures of 1500 C and sub-soil pressure typically
found in strata thousands of years old.
... Crop circles also show existence of ultrasound
sound above the human hearing range and such
frequencies are known to exist at ancient sites such as
stone circles, long barrows, tumuli, dolmens and
menhirs. And like all sacred sites, temples and places of
worship such as Gothic cathedrals the crop circles
appear at the intersecting points of the Earth's magnetic

pathways of energy; thus the size and shape of a crop
circle is typically determined by the area of these 'node'
points at the time of their appearance."[8]
It is during the time of Cancer that crop circles are on
the increase in their annual appearance, the period
when many crops are approaching their ripeness, some
already harvested. Cancer is a sign of nurturement
("The Mother of the Swirled"), and wheat has been a
prime nurturer for humanity, despite the fact that it has
been so abused with modern agricultural practices.
Along with corn, wheat was reputedly gifted to
humanity by the Kabiri, the ancient guides of the
human race; it is said by some to have its origin on

Samuel Barber: Neptune in Cancer, Pisces Sun.
This newsletter for Cancer would not be complete
without tribute to the composer Samuel Barber
(1910-1981), who had the Sun in Pisces trine to
Neptune in Cancer. (He also had several placements in
Aquarius.) Neptune is the co-ruler of Pisces and the soul
ruler of Cancer, hence Barber's sensitivity to receiving
impressions. Many musicians have water signs
prominent in their horoscopes, such as Cancer Sun,
Percy Grainger.
But Barber's Adagio for Strings remains one of the great
classics, associated with the anguish of the human
heart. The piece was inspired by the distressing years of
World War II, but is a universal paeon to the plight of
humanity - and its inhumanity; even the crustiest of
crabs are deeply moved through its sheer beauty and
transcendent sound! Cancer is a highly sensitive sign
with the Moon as ruler; Moon rules the fourth ray of
Harmony through Conflict, also known as the ray of the
artist and musician.

The Golden Ratio: Pentagrams, Pythagoras and Venus
Some interesting facts about math, the pentagram,
nature, and culture.
The first known uses of the pentagram (the simplest
regular star polygon) are found in Mesopotamian writings
dating to about 3000 BC. The 5 points represented the 5
astrological directions associated with Jupiter, Mercury,
Mars and Saturn, and Venus (or Astarte, the local
Goddess). The top or "above" point of the star symbolized
Venus/Astarte - as she was revered as the "Queen of
Heaven."
In fact, the pentagram (the simplest regular star polygon)
has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the
worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent... When
viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of
Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the
zodiac every eight years.
At one time, the pentacle was used by Christians to

represent the Five Sacred Wounds of Jesus. The ancient
greeks and romans, among others, considered the
pentacle a symbol of balance and health. The pentacle can
be seen to resemble or symbolize the human body, the 5
points representing the head and 4 limbs. In the Tarot,
the pentacle symbolizes the female suit of Earth - divinity
manifesting in matter.
The golden ratio, (also known as the Divine Proportion, or
(spelled PHI) can be expressed as:
= (1+5)/2 1.618
The Divine Proportion plays an important role in the the
mathematical nature of the pentagram (among many,
many other such phenomenon). In the pentagram each
intersection of edges sections the edges in golden ratio:
the ratio of the length of the edge to the longer segment
is , as is the length of the longer segment to the shorter.
Also, the ratio of the length of the shorter segment to the
segment bounded by the 2 intersecting edges (a side of
the pentagon in the pentagram's center) is .
A pentagram colored to distinguish its line segments of

different lengths. The four lengths are in golden ratio to
one another.

The golden ratio has fascinated intellectuals of diverse

interests for at least 2,400 years.
"Biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects,
psychologists, and even mystics have pondered and
debated the basis of its ubiquity and appeal. In fact, it is
probably fair to say that the Golden Ratio has inspired
thinkers of all disciplines like no other number in the
history of mathematics." ~ Mario Livio
Adolf Zeising, whose main interests were mathematics
and philosophy, found the golden ratio expressed in the
arrangement of branches along the stems of plants and of
veins in leaves. He extended his research to the skeletons
of animals and the branchings of their veins and nerves,
to the proportions of chemical compounds and the
geometry of crystals, even to the use of proportion in
artistic endeavors. In these phenomena he saw the golden
ratio operating as a universal law.
Architecture was also profoundly influenced by the golden
ratio. The Egyptian Pyramids, Stonehenge, the Acropolis,
the Great Mosque of Kairouan (built by Uqba ibn Nafi c.
670 A.D.), and the Tempietto chapel at the Monastery of
Saint Peter in Montorio, Rome... these architectural
wonders and many more are said to have been designed
and built using the golden ratio.
Science has been influenced by the golden ratio as well.
Jean-Claude Perez proposed a connection between DNA
base sequences and gene sequences and the golden ratio
[link]. Another such connection, between the Fibonacci
numbers and golden ratio and Chargaff's second rule
concerning the proportions of nucleobases in the human
genome, was proposed in 2007.
one well known example of the golden ratio in popular
culture can be found, of course, in a da vinci painting - in
this case the vitruvian man. the painting illustrates the
golden ratio as it is seen in the human body - for

be ... same with the ratio between your hips, knees and
feet. (look it up!)
The Greeks usually attributed discovery of the golden

ratio to Pythagoras or his followers. The regular
pentagram, which has a regular pentagon inscribed within
it, was the Pythagoreans' symbol.
Pythagoras and his Pythagoreans - along with being

vegetarians and espousing the Pythagorean Theorum (who
doesn't love a2 + b2=c2?) venerated the pentacle and the
golden ratio. Pythagoras viewed the pentacle as a symbol
of mathematical and natural perfection . One of the
Pythagoreans' main symbols was the Pythagorean Pentacle
(above), a pentacle inscribed within a pentagon.
It is said that the pentagram had a secret significance and

power to the Pythagoreans, and was used not only as a
symbol of good health, but as a password or symbol of
recognition amongst themselves.

The cross in a circle, or some minor variance of this cardinal
symbol, is often depicted in ancient esoteric societies, in sacred

religious orders of today, in indigenous cultures, and in
petroglyphs around the globe. This symbol not only represents a
fundamental foundation upon which many faiths are built, but is
also made to remind us, especially in times of darkness, that
something profound is to occur for the entire Earth and for all of
her people. For many, this symbol is a promise of an event
leading to the spiritual evolutionary fulfillment of all life.
The cross in a circle is not only a spiritual symbol, it is also the
astronomical symbol for our planet Earth. And, the term "Holy
Cross" also means "Heavenly Cross"referring to a cross found
in the heavens. The cosmic significance of this symbol is that it
marks the timing of a primary transition or turning in the natural
evolutionary cycle of the Earth. Hidden within this symbol is an
astronomical time-piece found in a specific geometric
relationship between Earth, the solar system, and our galaxy
an astrophysical event occurring now, within Earth's ~25,000
year, precessional cycle.
This section of the Lunar Planner web site presents the
astrophysical geometry creating the "Cycle of Earth's
Precessional Cross"; how and when the cross forms; the greater
cycle in which it occurs; and the opportunities this event
provides for human consciousness.

Could it be that the Urn of the Soul, the DNA, the human mould
itself, is transformed into a supra-being dominated by spiritual
awareness / cosmic consciousness, rather than by bio-logic's
mentalizing limits, a transformation caused by impouring light,
illumination made possible as Earth's pole geometrically
reorients in its Great Year into the divine / undivided side of the
precessional cycle.
Just as the hydrogen atom re-aligns its spin axis in a magnetic
field (the fundamental principle of medical diagnostic imaging
(MRI technology), it could also be that the DNA's structure,
composed of hydrogen bondsa phosphodiester (light-bearing)
circuitrywhich nests in Earth's geomagnetic fieldreorients
right along with Earth as Earth re-orients its spin axis in the
sacred geometry in which Earth spinsa reorientation of human
consciousness in Earth's ~25,000-year evolutionary
precessional "Evolutionary Cycle of the Soul."
Now (~2000 AD), at the occurrence of Earth's Precessional
Cross, Earth's pole begins to lean back toward the plane of
galactic light, thus crossing a primary threshold in Earth's
precessional cycle. Earth begins to retune / return to galactic
awareness and the impouring light begins to avalancheand all
of life on Earth begins its transmutation and illuminationfrom
the inside-out.
ntroduction to Earth's Precessional Cross
The Construction of Earth's Precessional Cross
The ecliptic plane, commonly referred to as the "Ecliptic of the
Sun," is created by Earth's annual orbit around the Sun.
Experientially verified by sky watchers throughout the ages, the
ecliptic plane or "Solar Ring of Power" is the most significant
plane in the Heavens used to map the relationship of
astronomical events and their effects on Earth. This plane is a
primary energy field for Earth - where occurs equinoxes,
solstices, solar and lunar eclipses, and all other planetary and
stellar alignments that we demonstrably experience in everyday
life. The ecliptic plane is the mediating plane between Earth's
equatorial plane and our galaxy's equatorial plane. The ecliptic
plane, or solar plane, is the plane of the soul, where as Earth's
equatorial plane is that of the incarnate personality. The ecliptic
plane provides the stage upon which Earth's Precessional Cross
occurs.
Just as Earth nests within our solar system, so too does our
solar system nest safely within the care of our galaxy. The
ecliptic plane lies at a unique angle in our galaxy, tilted and

nesting within our galactic plane. The galactic plane is the disc
of our whirling galaxy. The galactic plane provides the greater
evolutionary context for the incarnating soul participating on
Earth's experiential plane.
These three intersecting astrophysical planes, the galactic

plane, the ecliptic plane, and the Earth's equatorial plane, all
tilted at unique angles to one another, create the geometric
orientation of the two intersecting lines or cross members of
Earth's Precessional Cross. Due to Earth's precession of the
equinoxes, one cross member (the vernal axis) rotates around
the ecliptic ring while the other cross member (the galactic
equatorial axis) remains stationarycreating the ~25,000 year
"Cycle of Earth's Precessional Cross." The timing of this cyclic
movement determines when the moving cross member is
perpendicular to the stationary one, thus creating the perfect or
erect cross. There are two erect crosses occurring in the cycle,
both create primary transition points in the cycle and in our
evolutionary unfoldment. One cross occurred about 12,000
years ago, the other is the astrophysical event occurring NOW
(~2000 AD). The following illustration shows the movement of
the vernal axis with respect to the fixed galactic axis in the
ecliptic ring over the last couple thousand yearsthe erection of
the current cross.
Spheres of Consciousness
There are three equatorial planes of three rotating astronomical
spherical systems responsible for Earth's Precessional Cross.
The Celestial Equator (which is Earth's equatorial plane
projected into space), spins around and is perpendicular to
Earth's pole. Similarly, the ecliptic plane, and the galactic
plane are also perpendicular to their respective poles. Thus one
spherical system (along with their poles and equatorial planes)
nests within another system. The Earths spherical system nests
within the solar (ecliptical) system, and the solar system nests
within the galactic spherical system. When we recognize these
are spherical aspects of one unified cosmic order (intelligence),
and that harmonic resonance occurs through the geometric
relationship of these spherical systems, we can come to
understand how the ever-changing geometric relationship of
these spherical systems reveals an evolutionary process
occurring in this greater intelligence or consciousness to which
we belong.
As Earth's plane reorients itself with respect to the galactic
plane during the precessional cycle, so to is Earth's pole
reorienting its angular relationship to the galactic plane.
Observing the angular orientation of Earth's pole with respect
the the galactic plane provides key insight in to the nature of
Earth's Precessional Cycle and that of the "Evolutionary Cycle of
the Soul" collective on Earth.
Currently, Earth's pole lies over the same ecliptical longitude as

the "Gate of Man" (the anti-GEN at 5 sidereal Gemini), which is
one of the two nodes of the galactic equatorial axis. Note that
the ecliptical longitude of the polar axis is always 90 in ecliptic
longitude to the equatorial nodes (vernal axis). Thus, when
Earth's North Celestial Pole (NCP) resides at 5 sidereal
Gemini, the Vernal Point resides at 5 sidereal Pisces.
If we continue another 90 in the precessional cycle, Earth's

NCP moves to 5 sidereal Pisces and the Vernal Point moves to
5 sidereal Sagittarius. Several key things occur at this
precessional position. Earth's polar axis lies nearly parallel with
the galactic plane. This is significant because Earth's polar axis
is submersed in or imbued with the light of the galactic plane. In
addition, Earth's vernal axis becomes one with the galactic
equatorial axis in the ecliptic plane; and the Vernal Point nests
upon the Gate of God (at 5sidereal Sag), the primary galactic
equatorial node (which is also closest to Galactic Center). Thus,
this is the most unified and illumined position for Earth's pole
and Earths magnetic field in the precessional cycle. Earth
backbone is at one with the galactic plane (galactic
consciousness). It is for this reason that I consider this to be the
alpha-omega point (the starting point) in the precessional cycle
with the NCP lying at its Primordial Origin, the primary fiducial
in Earths Evolutionary Cycle of the Soul.
From here, as we continue in the precessional cycle, Earth's
pole lifts itself from its slumber in the plane of galactic light and
the vernal axis begins its separation from the galactic equatorial
axisand cycle of Earth's Precessional Cross begins.
As we move another 90 in the precessional cycle, Earth's polar

axis aligns with the galactic equatorial axis, with Earth's NCP
aligning with the GEN (Gate of God at 5 sidereal Sag), and with
the vernal point at 5 sidereal Virgo. Here, the vernal axis lies
perpendicular to the galactic equatorial axis creating the "first"
erect (90) cross in Earth's Precessional Cycle. Note also that
Earth's polar axis begins to lean away from the galactic plane of
light (marking "The Fall" from Unified Awareness), and which
begins a 180 (~12,000-year) period of temporal darkness.
Thus, "The "Fall" occurred about 12000 years ago.
As we move another 90 in the cycle, as the NCP moves to 5

sidereal Virgo, Earth's polar axis tilts furthest away from the
plane of galactic lightthe furthest point of separation from
Source / unified awareness.
The cross members (vernal axis and galactic equatorial axis)
reverse and collapse at this point, with the vernal point on the
Gate of Man. Here we are a the midpoint in the 180 period of
temporal darkness, which started at the first (90) cross and
which ends at the second (270) cross.
This occurred about 6000 years ago (circa 4000 BC).
Moving another 90, we return to the spherical geometry

occurring now in precessional cycle, with Earth's pole lying over
the "Gate of Man" (the anti-GEN) and the vernal point at the
5sidereal Pisces, creating the "second" (270) erect cross in
Earth's Precessional Cycle. Notice also that at this point, Earth's
pole beings to lean back toward the plane of galactic light
beginning our re-illumination in consciousnessour return to the
galactic field of unified awareness.
Thus we are now leaving the last 12,000-year period of temporal
darkness and entering a period of re-unification, where we begin
to awaken to galactic or unified awareness.

Revelation of Earth's Precessional Cross

The revelation of Earth's Precessional Cross transcends the
past and the future, uniting the esoteric teachings of ancient
secret religious orders and the quantum science of today's
world. Why this cycle, and the erect cross occurring now within
it, is of such importance to us all, is found in the quantum
principle that matter, energy and consciousness are aspects of
One Unified Creative Intelligence. Cosmic energy is, in fact,
"Evolutionary Intelligence" that is responsible for the unfoldment
of this Universal Consciousness of which we are intimate parts.
Subtle cosmic energy translates from one astronomical system
to another through geometric resonance occurring in interacting
spherical rotational systems. For this reason, and for additional
reasons elucidated in this work, it becomes clear that the Earth's
Precessional Cross is catalyst for a tremendous acceleration of
change on Earth.
As we delve into a deeper exploration of the entire Cycle of
Earth's Precessional Cross, we come to see how primary
geophysical events are governed by specific transition points, or
phase changes, occurring in this Great World Cycle. The Great
Flood is but one example. The Great Flood is said to have
occurred around the last, but reversed, precessional cross, circa
12,000 years ago. In this exploration we can see how this cycle
defines the tides of human experiencethose that destroy
civilizations, as well as those that create cultural renaissance
and rebirthings in consciousness. The more we examine this
dynamic astrophysical geometry, the easier it becomes to
acknowledge it is the underlying timepiece governing our
Earthian experience. The phase transitions occurring within the
Great World Cycle create an intelligently ordered progression of
evolutionary unfoldment in consciousnessan evolutionary
spiral supporting the maturing and spiritual fulfillment of
incarnating souls. This evolutionary spiral occurs in the
relationship of the astrophysical and gravitational vectors that
determine our temporal experience as durative and evolving
souls participating in the spiritual unfoldment of Divine
Intelligence.
The precessional orientation of Earth's polar axis with respect to
the galactic plane reveals exactly where we are in this unfolding
spiral in consciousness. It defines the timing of this cycle. The
occurrence of Earth's Precessional Cross now marks a primary
phase transition in this embracing precessional cycle. This
specific cross creates a paradigm shift in Earth's natural
evolutionary unfoldment of consciousness. As Earth's pole now
re-orients back toward the galactic plane, and the precessional
cross becomes active, it marks the time where we return from
12,000 years of temporal darkness, from our experience in
duality consciousness, from the separation of the fallen feminine
and masculine principles, to a re-unification in consciousness
where emerges the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine
principles on Earth; and where we can now demonstrate the
Divine Union of the feminine and masculine, both within our
selves, and in our relations with each other and with all of life.
This transition has just begun, ~2000 A.D., and so too our return
journey into unified field awareness. The time leading into this
270 transition point in the cycle creates an "inner need to
change," and the time immediately afterward is one of "initiating
change"which we are now in.
