Brochure
Description:

A two sided (duplex) folding brochure.

Date:
07/12/2015

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Jason Reeder

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign

Objectives:

Set up a two sided document in InDesign with proper alignment.

Wrap text around an image and know how to use paragraph styles
in InDesign.

Process:

First I created my design in Illustrator. I used a shark fin as

reference and decided to make that focal point of my logo design.
I think added some blur to the outer brush stroke to give it some
depth. I wanted to make my logo pop from the blue background of
my brochure so I mounted it on a light blue circle.
In Photoshop I used the selection tool to cut out my images. Since
I was doing a shark brochure I wanted to make it look like the
sharks were coming out of the page so I put them in the text to
give it that feel that the sharks were swimming.
In InDesign I laid out my design and used the rulers to guide my
design so that it would be evenly spaces. I then put everything
together and played around with color and fonts.

high qulaity image, and be able to use the basic tools in Photoshop
enhance the image.

Process:

I first chose my color scheme, I knew I knew I wanted to do

something simple and fun so I chose a monochromatic color scheme
and my color is blue. Luckily I had friends with a camera and
was able to borrow it, I was able to take a picture of their daughter
playing on a climbing frame. I got her in focus and blurred the
background, a technique I learned earlier on in the week. I then took
the photo to PhotoShop and started editing it. I used eyedropper
and took a blue out of the original photo for my backbackground.

to mess around with the settings and figure out which worked best
for the particular technique I was going for. I took the image to
Photoshop and altered the brightness and contrast of the image. I
also used the sharpening tool to clear up some of the rough areas
of the phot.

make it blend with the overall look and feel of the project.
