Fasting, Wisdom, and the Messengers

A Brief Word Study Using the Hebrew Misparim/Numbers

by Craig Peters

In Part 1 of the video series, The Messiah Teaches Fasting in the Beatitudes,
mention was made of the number connection between the Hebrew words for
fast/fasting, messenger/angel, and wisdom. The present paper is intended to display
these Inspired number connections for those who are still learning this amazing aspect
of the Word. The Hebrew letters and their number values are given to us from the
Most High and they truly further our understanding. Those who study will soon
realize they form a built-in and awe-inspiring Commentary over His very Word.
*

The Hebrew word for fast/fasting is Mwu/tsme and it has a place value (pv)
of 37:

(pv)

37 = (13) M + (6) w + (18) u = Mwu/tsme/fasting

Yet we so often see that a messenger (an angel), or messengers, is/are sent to minister
the Word and/or to strengthen those who have sought hwhy through times of fasting
and prayer.1 Amazingly, the Hebrew word for messenger/angel is Kalm/malak and
this word also has a place value of 37:

(pv)

37 = (11) K + (1) a + (12) l + (13) m = Kalm/malak/messenger

And the presence of these beings will not only impart physical strength in the Spirit,
but they also impart the spiritual wisdom, strength, and ability needed to know the
Word of the Most High and to do His will. Daniel received the visitation of
messengers and he was reputed for having great wisdom.2 Yet the Hebrew word for
wisdom is hmkx/chokmah and, yes, it also has a place value of 37:

(pv)

37 = (5) h + (13) m + (11) k + (8) x = hmkx/chokmah/wisdom

Messengers impart the Spirit, the power, and the wisdom of hwhy to those who have
sought Him by prayer and fasting; and Elohim is ever pleased to give a portion of His
wisdom to those who ask Him.3

Considering the numerous dire situations which now surround us, these are certainly
the days in which the people of the Most High need to seek and find hwhy, along with
any help and wisdom He will give us through His heavenly messengers.4

A letters place value, or what some people call the ordinal value, is simply obtained
by finding its numerical order, or position, within the ALEPH-BEIT. So, from first to
last, we have ALEPH = 1 while TAV = 22. Below are provided more compact Place
Value and Misparim Charts which readers may wish to print and cut out so you may
more readily confirm the calculations in this document as well as finding the MV or
PV of any Hebrew word.
