Course Reflections
This is a personal reflection on how the course will affect the
student.
Before the course
Before taking the course and after reading the course
description, I assumed it was going to be about learning
grammatical structures. Since I do not have a lot of knowledge,
I was very excited to learn these topics which would help me
improve my written skills.
At the beginning of the course, I felt like all the work was very
self-explanatory, but at the same time it seemed like if it was a
lot of work. However, I understood that the purpose of the
assignments included in the syllabus, were to help me improve
professionally.

Personal Research
What is research? In common parlance, research refers to
search for knowledge. Research is a systematized effort to gain
new knowledge
Now, personnel research can be defined as a systematized
investigation into the matters of employees with an objective to
solve their problems. According to Dale Yoder, personnel
research implies searching, investigation, re-examination,
reassessment and revaluation.

To maximize the students effectiveness

Clearly communicate to students your goals for any assignment or learning activity.
Inform your students of assignments as early as possible.
Give your students examples of "typical" exemplary assignments from past students,
but also of submissions that were both exemplary and unique.
Scaffold smaller activities and assignments towards large assignments so that
students understand the trajectory of their work.
Consider creating flexible intermediate deadlines.
If possible, allow students to share draft work with you and with their peers.
Offer students performative options.
Help your students appreciate the importance of formative feedback.
Discuss your own working process.
Use the learning management system to support students as they work on their
assignments.
Be sensitive to cultural differences.
Ask students to help you revise assignment prompts for the next time you teach the
class.
Consider having your program, department, or faculty implement an e-Portfolio
program for students.
Consider providing verbal feedback on student assignments using new
technologies.
Make large-print copies of all materials available.
