JUDICIAL-AFFIDAVIT OF ROCEL GRACE LAHOYLAHOY
This Judicial Affidavit is executed to serve as her direct testimony in the instant
case. This Judicial Affidavit is offered to prove: (1) all the allegations in Criminal Case
No. 001 entitled PP vs. Sorongon; (2) including all the ANNEXES appended thereto,
which she respectfully requests to be correspondingly marked as EXHIBITS in this case;
and (3) all matters related thereto, with reservation to present additional exhibits in the
course of the proceedings of the instant case.
Questions were propounded by plaintiffs counsel, Atty. Philip Owen
Binayas, in English, which the affiant fully understands, and answers were also given by
witness Rocel Grace Lahoylahoy in English.
1. Question (Q): Do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?
Answer (A): I do.

Are you aware that you may face criminal liability for false testimony or
perjury if you will not tell the truth?
A:
I am.

A:
I am Rocel Grace Lahoylahoy, 18 years of age, a resident of Brgy.
Poblacion, Sebaste, Antique, but currently staying at Lopez Jaena St, Jaro, Iloilo
City. I am a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Second Year Student at Central
Philippine University.

Was there any untoward incident which happened between you and the
accused?
A:
Yes. He raped me.

What did you do there?
A:
I went there to meet my boyfriend, Joshua Sorongon, together with his
brother, Ardyl Sorongon, for a dinner.

Who planned for the said dinner?
A:
Ardyl. According to my boyfriend, Ardyl insisted that we should have
dinner with him.

What time was the dinner set to happen?
A:
The three of us were supposed to meet at 9:00 in the evening at the Ocean
City Restaurant.

By the time you arrived, were your boyfriend and Ardyl already there?
Ardyl was there, but not my boyfriend.

Why did he not come?
A:
Because of work. He phoned his brother at around 9 in the evening and
informed him that he cannot come because he was called in for work as a Nurse
Reliever.

Upon knowing that your boyfriend cannot come, what happened next?
Ardyl told me that my boyfriend wanted us to continue with the dinner.

Did you agree?
A:
Yes because he was the brother of my boyfriend. There was no malice
whatsoever.

You said no malice. What did you mean by that?
A:
I considered Ardyl as a friend. And I trusted him being the brother of my
boyfriend.

What did you order?
A:
We ordered for Grilled Tanigue, Sizzling Crabmeat, Yangchow Fried Rice
and Frozen Iced Tea.

After the dinner, what did you do?
A:
Shortly before we left, I went to the Wash Room. And when I came back
to our table, I was asked by Ardyl to finish my drinks so we could go.

Having felt dizzy and nauseous, what did you do?
A:
I informed him about it but assured him that I can manage myself and that
I just needed to rest.

So, what did you do?
A:
I just rested my back in the front seat of his car. After several minutes, I
suddenly felt that the car stopped and I was transferred to the back seat.

After that, what happened?
A:
At around 5 AM, I woke up and found myself lying on bed at my
apartment with my white skirt stained with blood and I was experiencing severe
pain in my vagina.

So, what did you do?
A:
I called my mom, painfully crying, and relayed what happened. She
advised me to ask for help and proceed to the nearest hospital. She also assured
me that she will immediately travel to Iloilo City to be with me.

What did you do next?
A:
I called my best friend, Darenn. Then she went to my apartment and she
brought me to Iloilo Mission Hospital.

While at the hospital, what did you do?
A:
I was examined by Dr. Maricel Peniero. And she advised me to undergo a
Drug Test.

Do you have any idea why she requested you to undergo a drug test?
A:
Yes, she was suspecting that I was drugged, as shown by the symptoms I
manifested.
