alsoaftercompletion.

1.CheckLoadedQuantity:Afterthecompletionofcargoloading,theloadedquantityofthecargotanks
shouldbecheckedandconfirmedbyaresponsibleofficerandalsobyarepresentativeoftheshore.Any
kindofdiscrepancyinthequantitymustbeinformedtothemasterandconcernedauthorityimmediately.
2.InformEngineRoom:Notifytheenginedepartmentafterdischargingisoverandensurethatthe
surveyorhasissuedtheDryTankCertificateorEmptyTankCertificatetothevessel.
3.KeepTheLogbookUpdated:Ensurethattimesofalleventsoftheloading/dischargingoperationare
recordedintheCargologbookandmainpointsare
transferredintheDecklogbook.
4.CloseAllValves:Afterthecompletionofthecargoloading/unloadingoperations,allcargovalves
involvedintheprocessshouldbeclosed.Shorecontrolvalvesshouldbeclosedbeforethetanker
valves.
5.RemovetheCargoHosesByAvoidingOilSpill:Aftercheckingthatthevalvesareclosed,cargo
hosesshouldbetakenoffbyensuringthatleakagesfromcargoleftinthehosesiscollectedintocargo
pans.Thisisextremelynecessarytopreventanykindofoilspill.
6.CheckBreatherValve:Thebreathervalvesshouldbecheckedtoensurethattheyarecorrectlyset
tomaintainpressureinsidethetank.
7.ChangetheFlangePosition:ChangethefittedpositionoftheSpectacleBlindflangetoitsblank
sidetoisolatethelineandpreventoverflowing.
8.CloseTankOpenings:Allappropriatetankopeningsshouldbeclosedbyusingthedesignatedtools
afterthecompletionofthecargoloading/unloading.Thisoperationistobecarriedoutbypumpmanor
bosunundertheguidanceofchiefofficerorotherresponsibleofficer.Also,cargomanifoldsandmarine
armsorhosesshouldbesecurelyblankedafterbeingdisconnected.
9.RemoveEarthBondingCables:TheEarthBondingCablesshouldbetakenoffafterthecargo
hosesaredisconnected.
10.OpenDrainCocks:Thetankermanifoldandshorevalvesshouldbeclosedandthedraincocksat
thetankersmanifoldshouldbeopenedtoallowdrainingofcargointofixeddraintanksorportabledrip
trays.
