2.1 Summary of manuscript structure:
A structured abstract should be included, comprising approximately 250 words for an original article. You should also list four to six
key words.
Manuscript structure should be in the following order: Title page, abstract and key words, text, acknowledgments, references,
tables, figures, figure legends. It is important to ensure that you submit the title page, abstract and main text, images, tables
and figures as separate files.
TITLE PAGE

The complete title should contain no abbreviations and must not exceed 80 characters, including spaces. A short title to be used
as the running head should not exceed 40 characters including spaces. Authors' names should be listed in full, with the surnames
(family names) underlined, followed by one single highest academic degree. We recommend no more than 6 authors and for
submission to be handled by the primary or corresponding author. If there are more than 6 authors their details should be listed on
the submission title page. If the paper has been or is to be presented at a conference, provide the name, location and dates of the
meeting. State the telephone number, email address and postal address of the contact author. Any conflict of interest must also be
stated on the title page. The Title Page should contain a short but catchy title, centered in bold letters, font size 14. This is
followed by the author[s] (first name, middle initial, family name) with superscript number after each family name for multiple
authorship to indicate the institution or agency affiliated. The institution or agency of affiliation follows, printed in italics with the
superscript number appearing before each one. Give the complete name, e-mail and postal address of the corresponding
author.
ABSTRACT AND KEY WORDS

Original articles must contain a structured abstract using the heading format Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions, and
not exceeding 250 words must precede the text. A brief abstract no more than 100 words must be included for case reports. No
abbreviations are allowed in the abstract. Four to six key words must be listed for subject indexing. Keywords should be taken from

the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) list of Index Medicus; if suitable MeSH terms are not yet available for recently introduced
terms, present terms may be used.
TEXT

The main text should be anonymous - containing no author information. The text should be written concisely. It must be continuous
and should not contain lists. Original Contributions should include: Introduction, Material/Patients and Methods, Results and
Discussion. Case Study and How-To-Do-It articles should not exceed 750 words, excluding abstract and references. Do not
abbreviate terms used less than 4 times. Full terms of abbreviations or acronyms should be stated at first mention, with the
acronym following in parentheses. Use standard abbreviations only. Measurements should be in metric units (meter, kilogram,
liter). Temperature must be in degrees Celsius. Blood pressure should be in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). All hematological and
clinical chemistry data must be in Systeme International (SI) units. If in doubt, refer to a recent published article. The manuscript
should be prepared in MS Word typed all throughout in Bookman Old Style, font size 11 (except when specified later) with 1.5
spacing and margin of 1 on four sides of short bond paper. The page numbers are centered at the bottom, printed consecutively
from the Cover Page until the last page of the manuscript.
The body of the article should be in 2 columns as follows:
a) Complete Research Study
a.1.Introduction containing the background of the study, review of related literature and objectives. References should be cited
following the author-year format using only the family name of the first author.
a.2.) Materials and Methods This part should contain the research design, procedures and statistical tools used. Write-up
should be complete without being wordy to enable another researcher to duplicate/validate the steps used. Measurements should
be in S.I. units and follow only standard abbreviations. Observe confidentiality of data and include the steps that were adopted in
dealing with patients, respondents as well as procurement, handling and disposal of laboratory animals and other biological
materials.
a.3) Results and Discussion These should be presented in textular, tabular and graphical forms. Print every table or figure in
Aerial Narrow, font size 12 on a separate sheet of paper to allow reduction in size. Make tables using Grid 1. Avoid using the
same data for a table and figure. Place the table number and label above the table but figure number and label below the figure.
Number all tables or figures consecutively. Photographs must be large enough (i.e., 5R), clear in black and white or colored. Cut
only the spot that is necessary for publication. Indicate the total magnification of a photomicrograph. Pictures downloaded from the
Internet or taken from copyrighted materials should not be included unless prior permission from the publisher or author was
obtained. Copy of the permission should be included in the submission of the manuscript. Show only the results of statistical tests
and levels of significance used. Conclusions should answer the objective(s) of the study and recommendations should be
included.
a.4.) Acknowledgement These should be brief mentioning only the agency that gave the research grant, institution(s) that
allowed the conduct of the study, and person(s) who helped in writing or editing the manuscript. Acknowledgments of financial or
personal assistance should be placed at the end of the text. All papers prepared in consultation with a statistician who is not a coauthor should contain an acknowledgment indicating the name and a single highest academic of the consultant statistician.
Individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the paper but do not fulfill the criteria for authorship may be
named in this section.
( a.5.) Notes on the Authors - A very brief information about the educational qualifications and research interest(s) of the authors
should be included.)
a.6.)Bibliography Follow the Standard Uniform Requirements format (www.icmje.org/index.html). The maximum number of
references is 20 for Original Contributions, 8 for Case Studies and How-To-do-it articles, and 5 for Letters to the Editor. References
cited should be from journals which are Medline indexed. Works accepted for publication but not yet released should be indicated
by "in press" in parentheses after the name of the publication concerned. Do not cite personal communications or unpublished
work. Avoid using abstracts as references. References must be numbered and cited in the text. Authors are solely responsible for
the completeness and accuracy of the references. References should conform to the format outlined below:
Journals - list the first 6 authors' surnames and initials, followed by "et al." (if more than 6 authors), full title of the article, correct
abbreviation of the journal name (conform to that used in Index Medicus), year, volume number, first and last pages.
Books - list authors' surnames and initials, chapter title, editor's name(s) and initial(s), book title, edition, city, publisher, date, first
and last pages.

b.) Review or Current State of the Art Follow exactly the same format for the cover page, abstract, presentation of tables and
figures, acknowledgment, notes on the authors and bibliography. The body of the paper can be divided into parts according at the
discretion of the author(s).
c.) Short Note A condensed form should be presented for the introduction, materials and methods, result and discussion while
the rest follow exactly as described.
Informed Consent. If the manuscript reports the results of an experimental investigation of human subjects, state formally that
consent was obtained from the subjects after the nature of procedure(s) had been fully explained. Include a signed statement of
consent from the patient (or, if the patient is a minor, from both parents or the legal guardian) with all identifiable photographs.
Consent forms must contain a specific statement that photographs and information related to a case may be published separately
or together, and that the patient's name will not be disclosed.
Ethical Requirements. For human or animal experimental investigations, specify in the "Methods" section of the manuscript
what protocols were followed, eg, "Institutional guidelines regarding animal experimentation were followed." For those investigators
who do not have formal ethics review committees (institutional or regional), the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki
should be followed.
2.Peer review policy
Submissions are reviewed by invited referees and selected editors. It is our policy to provide blinded reviews. Neither reviewers
nor authors will be identified, so there is no possibility of bias in any editorial decision. Accepted material may be revised by editors
for clarity, length, and style, without changing the meaning. One set of proofs is sent to the contact author for final confirmation
(only minor alteration is permitted). Rejected articles are disposed of properly to preserve confidentiality.
Cover Letter. The information provided in the cover letter will not be supplied to reviewers. Provide the full names, highest
academic degree obtained, and affiliation of all authors. If an author's affiliation has changed since the work was done, also list the
new affiliation. The editorial office reserves the right to review the number of authors on all submissions. All co-authors should
have contributed to the study and manuscript preparation. They should be thoroughly familiar with the substance of the final
manuscript and be able to defend its conclusions (also see the authorship responsibility section of the accompanying authorship
form).
Designate a corresponding author and provide a complete mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address
for this author. Specify the address to which requests for reprints (if available) should be sent. If the manuscript was presented at a
meeting, specify the complete name of the meeting (spell out association names), the city where it was held, and the exact date on
which the paper was presented. Briefly acknowledge financial support provided to the authors for the research presented in the
manuscript. Provide the name and affiliation of any statistical reviewer consulted.
All authors must complete and sign the copyright, authorship responsibility, and financial interest statements shown on the
accompanying authorship form. Manuscripts cannot be accepted until this completed form is submitted.
The Corresponding author will be notified by e-mail within two weeks after the receipt of the manuscript. At least six weeks will
take for peer review.
Comments from the peer reviewers and a copy of the manuscript will be returned with the note whether the paper will be
considered for publication or not.
If advised to revise, instructions, comments and suggestions from the Editor and peer reviewers should be followed.
