II. DESCRIPTION
TARGET POPULATION
All faculty who would like to create videos that can be used in the classroom or
accessed using internet resources.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Investigate video resources appropriate for the class and already
available for use.
Distinguish between video captured with an external device and a
screencast video.
Consider options for do-it-yourself recording devices such a Flip
video, digital video, webcam, or camcorder.
Plan video project to include Powerpoint instructional slides and
screencast or digital video footage.
Identify and use production equipment in the DLIT Mini Studio or on
computers equipped with Camtasia Studio.
Apply techniques necessary to edit a video project.
Identify options for video publication.

Explore best practices and discuss how videos can be used in
teaching and learning.
TEACHING STRATEGIES
ASSESSMENT
Throughout the training there will be periodic checks for understanding via:
Oral Quizzing
Hands On Self Assessments
Participants will, also, complete the standard Learning Academy for Faculty &
Staff learning opportunity evaluation form. Six to 8 weeks after the session,
participants will receive a follow up survey regarding the use of material covered
in the learning opportunity in relation to their college work.
Hours Equated to Longevity Training Credit, if approved as eligible. (15 clock hours = 1 LTC) 2/15th
