a) Tips of using Nortel Digital telephone.

Digital phone (M3902) guide in brief:


Make a call:

Lift the handset / press line key / press Hands free key.
Dial the number.
Put back the handset / press Goodbye key to release the call.

Answer a call:

When you receive a call, your telephone rings and LCD


Indicator flashes.

Redial Last no:

Lift handset and press line key once OR press Line key twice.
Press Goodbye to finish the call.

Call Transfer:

While on a call press Transfer Key + dial the no. of the extension ,
Where the call is to be transfer.

When you hear the ring tone OR a person answers, press the transfer
Key again to complete the call transfer.

While on a call press conference Key + dial the no. of the person
You want to add to the conference.

Press conference key when the person answers.


Dial another no. you want to add to conference and so on
Finally press conference key twice to include all in conversation.

Conference:

Place a call on Hold:

Press the hold key, the LCD indicator flashes beside


the line on Hold.
To retrieve the call from Hold, press the line key beside the
flashing LCD indicator.

Ring Again:

Dial a no & receive a busy tone or no answer.


Press Ring Again key.
When the person has re-used their telephone you hear
a ring again tone
Lift the handset and press Ring Again key.
To cancel Ring again press Ring again key a second time.

Forward calls:

Press the forward key + dial the no. where you want to
Forward your calls

Press the Forward key again.


To cancel forward, press forward key once.

Lift the handset + press Pickup key, to pickup calls from same
Pickup group.
Or
To pickup the call from a ringing telephone which is in the same
/ other group , dial 12+ the ringing extension number.

b) Feature code for Digital/Analog telephone:


Transfer:
If you wish to transfer a call from your Analog telephone press Flash + Desired extension
number , speak to the person and hang up the handset. The calls will automatically get transfer.
From digital telephone: - Transfer Key + Desired extension number,
Where the call is to be transfer.
Call pickup:
If you need to pickup the call of any other ringing telephone which is in the same group , dial 11

Station Direct call pickup:

To pickup the call from a ringing telephone which is in the same / other group , dial 12+ the ringing
extension number .

Call forward:
If you wish to get call forward, dial 18 + extension, wait for the confirmation tone, then put down
your handset.
To cancel the above dial 19, Wait for the confirmation tone, then put down your handset.

Conference:
From digital telephone: While on a call, press conference Key + dial the no. of the person
You want to add to the conference.
Press conference key when the person answers.
Dial another no. you want to add to conference and so on
Finally press conference key twice to include all in conversation.
From analog telephone: While on a call, press Flash + dial the no. of the person
you want to add to the conference. when the person answers press Flash again.
Auto call back :
From Digital telephone: Dial a no & receive a busy tone or no answer.
Press Ring Again key.
When the person has re-used their telephone you hear a ring again tone
Lift the handset and press Ring Again key.
To cancel Ring again press Ring again key a second time.
Auth code:
To call out side Dial * + five digit Auth code no + 0+ local no.
To call out side Dial * + five digit Auth code no + 00+ STD no.

c) How to logging in

system:

Following are the steps to log in to Meridian 1 system.

Open your PC and go toStart >programs>Accessories> communication >HyperTerminal.


Create HyperTerminal

For SDI port 0 select 9600, 8- N -1 , none


SDI port 1 select - 1200, 8- N -1 , none
SDI port 2 select -1200, 8- N -1 , none
When you are connected to the system, you would see the following on your terminal
screen.

This means the port 0 of card 5 is IDLE i.e free. and port 1 is BUSY , The type of port is shown in
parenthesis .for e.g , 3904 means the port is 3904 type of digital type of extension.
The explanation of various states of ports is given below:
IDLE means the port is free & extension is in idle state.
BUSY means the port is Busy state.
DSBL means the port is disabled state.
UNEQ means the port is unequipped, i. E nothing is defined or programmed on this port.
Enabling / Disabling port
To disable or enable a port use following command:
>ld 20
REQ: disu 5 4
( This command disables the port 4 of card in slot no 5 )
REQ: enlu 5 4
( This command en ables the port 4 of card in slot no 5 )
The general format of this command is
ENLU cc uu OR DISU cc uu where cc card & uu unit no or port no.
