Bivariate Hypothesis: The amount of individuals who like rap music will be affected in large
amounts by age. The relationship between age and rap music likability is significant to this study. If
all individuals like rap music then there is no need for this study in relation to comparing data for the
multivariate study. Rap music is separated amongst ages 18 and above. Individuals 40 and over do not
like rap music. Rap music will be most popular to age groups that are younger and range between 18-
29. Respondents in the study that are 30 and over may show some small amount of likability towards
rap in some cases but we will not know what those causes are.
Multivariate Hypothesis: The demographics of this study will affect the outcome of respondents
attitudes toward rap. Race will have a dramatic affect on the amount of respondents that like rap. Race
will show that there is a significant amount of people that are black that like rap dealing with younger
respondents. White respondents will like rap but not in large numbers. Blacks and Whites will
respond in large in large numbers between the ages of 18 and 29. Respondents that are 40 and above
will show little interest in rap and the percentages will be low for both races.
Bivariate Discussion: The amount of respondents that like rap that were ages 18-29 were higher than
any other age category. The amount of respondents that dislike rap varied in ages, but was highest for
respondents 40 and older. The amount of respondents that disliked rap coming second to 40 and older

were individuals ages 18-29 surprisingly. The results also show that respondent 30-39 were not far
behind the leading categories with 44.2 percent of respondents disliking rap. The individuals involved
in the bivariate discussion are those of all races and were only separated on views. There were no
know variables that may have affected the study for respondents and their attitudes about rap.
Multivariate Discussion: The results of the multivariate study vary by race. The two races that were
involve include black and white. The study shows that the two do not vary as expected in the
hypothesis. The amount of whites that like rap are in between the ages of 18 and 29 but the amount of
individuals that like rap in for black respondents reaches a larger group. The ages of blacks that like
rap are between 18 and 39. The respondents that were black do show a larger interest in rap than those
that are white for all ages. The amount of respondents who like rap for whites extend to 7.8, but small
numbers are shown across the other sections in relation to those who like rap. All ages of blacks
identify differently with liking and disliking rap. More blacks identify with the category of individuals
regardless of age that dislike rap. The same variant applies for those who were white respondents as
well. Overall one can see that the discussion of rap in regards to race may have little affect on results.
