Specialize in manufacturing products specified in this section with minimum 20 years
documented experience
Have service personnel available 24 hours per day through a toll-free phone number
Offer local standard and customized training courses

Supplier must be an authorized distributor of specified manufacturer with minimum


three years documented experience.

The operator interface terminal shall be designed to meet the following agency
approvals.
c-UL-us listed
Hazardous Locations Class I, Division II, Groups A,B,C,D certified (specific models)
CE marked for all applicable directives
C-Tick marked for use in continental Australia
KCC marked for use in Korea

The supplier shall conform to specified service conditions during and after installation of
products.
The supplier shall maintain area free of dirt and dust during and after installation of
products.

SUBMITTALS

The supplier shall provide catalog cut-sheets.

PART 2 PRODUCTS
Any general specifications (GENERAL) are design requirements for all PanelView Component
terminals covered in this document. Design requirements specific to each model start with section
2.08, which are in addition to the general design requirements.

The operator interface terminal shall provide visualization for control.


The operator interface terminal shall be designed with interchangeability provided for
similar PanelView Component models with 2-inch to 10-inch screen sizes.
C. The operator interface terminal shall have downward compatibility whereby all new
model designs can be interchanged with similar models to reduce obsolescence.
D. The operator interface terminal shall be designed for the following environment
parameters.

Operating temperature range of 0 to 50 C (32 to 122 F)

Storage temperature range of -25 to 70 C (-13 to 158 F)

Humidity range of 5 to 95% non-condensing

The operator interface terminal shall operate on power input of 18 to 30 VDC (24 VDC
nominal). A DIN-rail-mounted, AC-to-DC power supply 85 to 265 VAC, 47 to 63 Hz
option shall be available.

DISPLAY FEATURESGENERAL

The operator interface terminal shall have a flat panel display.


Touch screen operator interface terminals shall have the entire screen available for
object usage, and not be limited by specific templates or function keys.
C. Keypad-based operator interface terminals shall have function keys that the user can
program as required by application specifications.
D. The operator interface terminal shall be configurable for language, file management,
application, communications and display settings by means of a menu-driven setup
screen.
2.4

LOGIC FEATURESGENERAL
A.

The operator interface terminal shall interface as addressed in this specification or as


indicated on the drawings.

The operator interface terminal shall be able to communicate to MicroLogix ,


Micro800 and SLC controllers.

The operator interface terminal shall be able to connect directly to a component


device, such as a specified drive.

The operator interface terminals multi-vendor communication shall include Modbus


and Modbus/TCP.
B. The operator interface terminal shall have one Universal Serial Bus (USB) type-A
connector port to connect to removable USB flash drives for external storage.
C. The operator interface terminal shall have one Universal Serial Bus (USB) type-B
connector port (device port) to connect to a host computer using TCP/IP communication
and the USB function RNDIS client.
D. The operator interface terminal configuration programming shall be completed offline,
using a PC and Connected Components Workbench software.

PROGRAMMINGGENERAL
A.

The operator interface terminal shall have:

The operator interface terminal shall have built-in programming software for on-screen
application design and setting adjustments without a PC.
C. The operator interface terminal shall be able to accept applications designed on a PC
with programming software.
D. The operator interface terminal shall be able to secure information with user name and
password protection.
E. The software package shall offer such features as cut, copy, paste and object
import/export capabilities in and between various PanelView Component application
files.
F. The operator interface terminal shall be able to display information in various languages,
including:

Chinese

Portuguese

French

Italian

German

Spanish

Korean

Arabic

PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUESGENERAL
A.

The operator interface terminal shall be capable of being configured offline, using
Connected Components Workbench software.

B.

Connected Components Workbench software shall:

Be available for installation on a PC as a free download.

Require at least an Intel Pentium M 1400 MHz processor with 512MB RAM and with
.NET framework 3.5 installed.

Be supported in Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP SP3 environments.

Create applications that can be transferred to the operator interface terminal using a
USB flash or Secure Digital (SD) storage card.

C. Connected Components Workbench shall act as a single software package for various
Component products, coordinating the programming of controllers, the configuration of
devices and the screen design of the operator interface.
D. The operator interface terminal shall have a user-configurable alarm system capable of
popping up an alarm banner on a user screen and presenting information that is critical
to the user and of immediate use.

The alarm banner shall be configured to include the following buttons:


a) Clear Alarm
b) Acknowledge Alarm
c) Close Alarm
E.

The programming format shall involve placing input and output objects via the offline
programming and configuration package or the web-enabled software.
F. Input and output objects shall be linked to the logic controller via tags that contain
addressing information to access the data in the logic controller.
G. Capability shall exist for the following:

Trending/datalogging (which can be stored to SD, USB or emulator which maps to a


local Document & Settings folder)

Recipe management (at least one recipe is supported, more options with DataSets)

Reporting (which provides a detailed report of the PVc application including, but not
limited to, screen shots of all screens present in the application, list of tags,
connections, data usage, etc.).

Going online and then downloading the application to the PanelView terminal or
transferring it via USB/SD.

2-INCH COMPONENT TERMINAL

The operator interface terminal shall be Allen-Bradley Series 2711C, PanelView


C200.

The display area shall be 49 mm wide by 14 mm high (1.93 inches wide by 0.55
inches high).

The display shall be 2-inch monochrome transflective STN.

The operator input shall be one of 2 types:


a) 4 function keys.
b) 10 function keys and numeric keypad.

Communication shall be RS-232 (DF1), RS-232 (DH-485), RS-485.


The operator interface terminal shall have a real-time clock.

3-INCH COMPONENT TERMINAL

The operator interface terminal shall be Allen-Bradley Series 2711C, PanelView


C300.

The display area shall be 67 mm wide by 33 mm high (2.64 inches wide by 1.30
inches high).

The display shall be 3-inch monochrome transflective FSTN.

The operator input shall be one of 2 types:


a) Touch screen.
b) 10 function keys and numeric keypad.

Communication shall be RS-232 (DF1), RS-232 (DH-485), RS-485.


The operator interface terminal shall have a real-time clock.

C. 4-INCH COMPONENT TERMINAL

The operator interface terminal shall be Allen-Bradley Series 2711C, PanelView


C400.

The display area shall be 95 mm wide by 53.9 mm high (3.74 inches wide by 2.12
inches high).

The display shall be 4-inch color transmissive TFT.

The operator input shall be touch screen and 4 function keys.

Communication shall be both:


a) RS-232 (DF1), RS-232 (DH-485), RS-485.
b) Ethernet.

The back of the operator interface terminal shall have a diagnostic status indicator.
The operator interface terminal shall have a real-time clock with battery backup. The
battery is replaceable.

D. 6-INCH COMPONENT TERMINAL

The operator interface terminal shall be Allen-Bradley Series 2711C, PanelView


C600.

The display area shall be 115 mm wide by 86 mm high (4.53 inches wide by 3.39
inches high).

The display shall be 6-inch and one of 3 types:


a) Monochrome transmissive FSTN.
b) Color transmissive TFT.

The operator input shall be touch screen.


Communication shall be both:
a) RS-232 (DF1), RS-232 (DH-485), RS-485.
b) Ethernet.

The back of the operator interface terminal shall have a diagnostic status indicator.
The operator interface terminal shall have a real-time clock with battery backup. The
battery is replaceable.
The operator interface terminal shall have a slot for a Secure Digital (SD) memory
card for loading the application, for upgrading firmware and for external storage.

10-INCH COMPONENT TERMINAL

The operator interface terminal shall be Allen-Bradley Series 2711C, PanelView


C1000.

The display area shall be 211 mm wide by 158 mm high (8.31 inches wide by 6.22

The display shall be 10-inch color transmissive TFT.

The operator input shall be touch screen.

Communication shall be both:


a) RS-232 (DF1), RS-232 (DH-485), RS-485.
b) Ethernet.

The back of the operator interface terminal shall have a diagnostic status indicator.
The operator interface terminal shall have a real-time clock with battery backup. The
battery is replaceable.

The supplier shall coordinate size and configuration of enclosure to meet project

CLEANING

The supplier shall unload, unpack and transport equipment to prevent damage or loss.
The supplier shall replace damaged components as directed by engineer.
The equipment shall be protected from dust and other harmful materials.

The supplier shall clean units as recommended by manufacturer.

SPARE MATERIALS
A.

For each size operator interface terminal being installed, the supplier shall provide:
Antiglare overlay kit
Backlight lamp where operator interface terminal has a field-replaceable backlight
Real-time clock replacement battery where operator interface terminal has a
replaceable battery
