Personal Statement of Purpose

Benjamin Michael Doyle

Masters of Business Administration/ Masters of Science in Information
Dear Gentle-person:
Class of December 2012, I have been following industry news closely in order to hone my skill set chomping
at the bit crunching code consisting of HTML5 and, CSS3 as well as JavaScript and jQuery. I have a keen interest in IT as it relates to visual communications and graphical user interfacing end user experience design
and user interaction design. And, with that, finishing my professional portfolio by pursuing a in a Masters
in Business Administration and Science in information.
Important major and career goals pertaining towards a Human and Computer Interaction program are:
Applying abilities, broadening horizons and spanning skills gaps in the public school system.
Concentrating efforts, focusing concentration with Human Computer Interaction & Design.
Expanding skill sets and, prototyping devices software programming/ web development in alternative ed.
Though interested in continuing education in one of the areas as listed as follows: information technology;
software programming; web development and, community informatics as it relates to graphical user interfacing in user experience interaction designI intend to continue developing a professional portfolio with
an independent Masters of Arts & Design in Interdisciplinary Studies with Human Computer Interaction
and Design Engineering.
As an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, I did a clothing, food and fund-raiser for the BABES:
Beds and Britches Etc. Store in 2004. It was a service project providing food and formula for young mothers,
abused and battered women and their children at no cost but, a voucher earned at corresponding volunteer
workshops and programs in Elkhart, IN available only to Women, Infants and Childeren, WIC of Indiana
Agencies teaching mind, body, health, nutrition and wellness for their young mothers.
A Program Aide in 2008 at Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington, IN, I was responsible for assisting ancillary
office and administrative tasks; offering instruction to new assistants, providing training opportunities to
other volunteersI managed to mentor children K-6 and kids coaching extracurricular activities, coaching
and refereeing games in teaching indoor team sports, tutoring teenagers as well as mentoring for the atrisk
youth of Monroe County.
As a unit commissioner for the BSA I am obligated to be responsible for recruiting adult leadership and
nominating Cub/Scout Master candidates. I identify unique opportunities, people or places of interest,
maintain access to information on potential webelos/ eagle scout service projects and provide training materials to units for scouts to organize themselves with the tools they need to connect with the community in
order to complete a successful service project.
In the past, I have been a Senior Program Leader in the Crossroads of America councils flagship after
school program: a host to extracurricular activities for cub scouts; teaching life skills and learning strategy. I
ran a program and, served low income areas, abating gang related activity and curbing youth unemployment
for at-risk youth of multiple ethnic originsas I am interested in sponsoring urban development, community enrichment and, promoting neighborhood revitalization.
One thing I noticed in running programs as an aid at different West side neighborhoods of these IPS
schools: BatesHendricks, Cold Springs, Haughville, Riverside and, Speedway are its multicultural student
body, its socioeconomical diversity as well as its international community. I am curious to know and, I
wonder at how global information systems can abate crime, youth homelessness, decrease skills gaps and,
increase demand for equal opportunity in public education.

However, one way to promote ethics in a morally adverse society is a culture of courtesy in communication
and understanding of a ethnically diverse community... Programming applications and devices to connect
people to unknown resources via knowledge mapping, heuristics, teaching learning and, introducing customs in between different ethnicities, connecting students to teachers and, faculty to parents with a wealth
of information in a community knowledge web.
Meanwhile, as I have been researching higher education, I have became a 2014 Candidate in: February, for
AmeriCorps Corvallis, OR; March, for Public Allies Chicago, IL; and, May, for INRC Indianapolis, IN; as
well as, August, for St. Barnard Project, New York, NY. With experience in Youth Advocating Leadership &
service Learning Biloxi, MS, and, Baton Rouge, LA, since 2010, I am pursuing doing further public service
and continuing education for city, state, nation and, country.
I filed an application in for a position with the Peace Corps awaiting approval. It is for a youth development
leadership role teaching English as a second language, reading comprehension and computer literacy. However, in the future, I am intent on practicing my Spanish speaking ability in cultural immersion to teach ESL,
life skills & learning strategy to the youth from Ecuador, I aim to improve my language understanding and
aid in preserving the Kichwa & Quechua dialects.
I intend to take away knowledge gaining experience building capacity and creating a platform for the delivery of customized educational programming, specializing in built environments as well as constructive reality... To engage eager young minds to interact with other people who play key roles in their communityto
encourage youth pursuing postsecondary education or, develop special interests early on, to take charge in
public service and challenge each other to succeed.
With a Masters of Arts in Independent Studies with Human Computer Interaction & Design(Mdes) or
rather, a Masters of Design in Interaction Design in a School of Fine Arts, I aim to see change in bridging the
skills gap with customized instruction in education reform. Now with the approval from the administration
of AmeriCorps VISTA program promoting the FIRST sponsoring STEM, to make a valuable contribution
to community, providing delivery of quality content in a knowledge web mapping community interactivity.
Respectfully,
Benjamin M. Doyle
