KAS NOTEBOOK INDEX (/kas-notebook-index.html)

1. When Jupiter is in a trine with Saturn and also related to Mars and Rahu, the person has a greater chance of contracting cancer.

2. When checking the financial status of a chart, look to the 11th house to see if the points are high. Then total all the sarva points for the planets
and compare them against an average of 72. Also check the points for the 3, 6, 10 and 11 houses. If they are high, then the financial status of the
person is good.

3. For being a successful businessman, the 3, 6 10th and 11th house points should be in increasing order in the sarva chart, from the Ascendant
and/or the Moon. This also gives authority, good position of authority or ownership with people working under him / her.

4. House A shows the Karkatva or the "responding" planet. The house that indicates having the karkatva for any event, also indicates the ending of
that particular thing.

5. The Karkatva for the ending of anything is represented by the 3rd house from that house. EXAMPLE: The 5th house indicates a child, so the 3rd
house from the 5th indicates the Karkatva for the death of a child.

6. The 9th house indicates the father, so the Karkatva (House A) for the death of the father is indicated by the 3rd house from that one or the 11th
house.

7. Rahu and Ketu become Samdharmi to the significator for the planets in whose sign and/or constellation they are situated. They can also be
significator for the event shown by House B if they are placed in House D and/or E.

8. For example, if Rahu is in 18 Scorpio 57, it means that it is in the sign of Mars and in the constellation of Mercury, so it is Samdharmi to Mars
and Mercury. It can give the results for both of these planets. Similarly, Ketu can represent Venus and the Moon.

9. The reason why Jupiter and Mercury cannot be natural Samdharmi to each other is that when Jupiter aspects the 4th house from itself, at the
same time, it places Mercury in direct opposition to the other house of Jupiter. Planets having lordship of the 1st and 7th houses are enemies and
therefore cannot be Samdharmi to each other.

10. Please note that when a person gets good points for a particular house, it will be at the expense of some other house. He will have to lose
something. EXAMPLE: If a person has points in the 4th, 7th, 11th and 12th houses in increasing order, we can say that his marital life will be good.
At the same time though, his expenditures will be more than his income, so although he may have personal happiness in his marriage, he will still
be in debt at a financial level.

11. The first step in narrowing down a person's occupation is to look at the lords of the 10th house from the Lagna, then 10th from the Sun and
10th from the Moon as well as any planets in these houses.

12. Once we find these planets, we locate them in the Navamsha chart and use their lords as indicators. This will give the line of work connected to
the planets or their Samdharmi.

13. A person can be in a line of work that is connected to a weak planet, but of course it will not give good results for the house it is weak in during
the duration of the sub period of that planet.

14. If the sub period of a weak planet is in progress at the start of a new job, or a series of weak planets in succession are in play, it will act as a
disturbing influence on the mental capacities of the person.

15. Even if planets are weak but are not connected to finance or the line of business that the person is in, he can still have the help of those
planets.

16. To see whether or not a person can run his own business, we look to the 3, 6, 10 and 11 houses.

17. When we see a zig zag pattern of points as they go from the 3, 6, 10 and 11 houses in the sarva chart, it indicates that the person will have to
expend more of an effort in order to make his business succeed. It will be the equivalent of "swimming against the tide" in order to make things run
smoothly.

18. If the points are in a zig zag pattern from the 3, 6, 10 and 11 houses, it indicates that the person will be in some sort of service work .

19. If the points are all in rising order from the 3, 6, 10 and 11 houses, it indicates that the person will do very nicely in his own business and that
things will run very smoothly. If only TWO houses are in rising order, then his job will be satisfactory. If there is only one, then we can say that the
person is doing well but constantly worries about work.

20. We do not include the Rashi chart when we look to find the sharpness of a person's mind. The Dreshkona chart denotes the 3rd house and the
Trimsamsha chart denotes the 6th house. As we know that the 3rd house is House D and its lord plays an important role, while the 6th house is
house B, we check ONLY these charts. The Navamsha chart has equal value to the Rashi chart here.

21. Both Rashi chart and the Navamsha chart have equal status.

22. Samdharmi planets are those listed in the sign or constellation of other planets. This should be observed from bot Rashi and Navamsha.

23. The constellations are ruled by a particular planet. So if two planets are in the constellation of the same planet, they should be treated as
Samdharmi.

24. There can be more than one Samdharmi. In that case, we have to select the one that's most powerful.

25. A malefic planet means a planet having less than 4 points. The Moon is never considered malefic under any circumstances - even if it has less
than 4 points.

26. The Sun and the Moon CAN give good results - even when they are 12th lords from B.

27. The Sun and Moon should never be considered negative - even if they have lordship of the 6th house.

28. A planet is considered debilitated when it is lord of the 12th house from B and cannot bring forth results.

29. Rahu and Ketu become Samdharmi to the significator for the planets in whose sign and/or constellation they are situated.

30. Rahu and Ketu can be significator for the event shown by House B, if they are placed in the Houses of either D or E.

31. The death of any person is indicated by the 8th house ( where we then place 'B' as the focus house). House C from there indicates the type of
result as it is always the 12th house from the person.

32. For the father we look at the 9th house. For the father's death, we look at House C (or the 12th house from the father). Counting forward 12
houses, we come to the 8th house, which also indicates hereditary property.

33. Therefore, when looking at the death of the father, House A will equal the 11th, House B will equal the 4th, and House C will equal the 8th.

34. The mother is indicated by the 3rd house in the KAS system. Therefore House C ( or 12 houses forward from the 3rd) for the death of the
mother is indicated by the 2nd house, which is also the house of wealth for the occupation.

35. From this we can conclude that the death of the parents has a definite effect on the life of chart owner. The greater the attachment to the
parents, the greater will be the effect on that person at the time of the parent's passing and vice versa.

36. The Mahadasa is important at the time of death since it shows the Karaka and the reason for the death.

37. The Antardasa (AD) is generally the strongest significator in the worksheet as well as the lords of D and E. ( for example, Lagna lord or 5th lord
or the planets in either the lagna or 5th with more than 4 points).

38. The 8th house indicates death. The 3rd house indicates the reason for the death and the 12th house indicates the type of death.

39. If death occurs in the 3rd lord's Mahadasa or its Samdharmi, then it may be an indicator of a more natural death than by some other means.

40. Retrograde planets enhance the results of an outcome. For example, even if Venus is less than 3 degrees from the Sun, it will sometimes still

have enough power left in it, if it is in retrograde motion.
