**vSpace Client is supported for desktop session delivery only and does not include the
advanced management options available for other access devices.
Supported Server OS Variants includes Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter.
Note that only 64-bit systems are supported.

vSpace Server 8 introduces new features and functionality to support NComputing


oneSpace for Android and iOS. This release is targeted towards customers of L300 or
oneSpace. vSpace Server 8 requires the management services provided by vSpace
Management Center 3.6 and existing vSpace customers upgrading to vSpace 8 will also
need to install vSpace Management Center 3.6.. The following notes contain important
information, please read this entire document to ensure that your installation and
deployment process goes as smoothly as possible.

Installation Instructions:
Note: vSpace Server 8.1.1.5 requires the management services features of vSpace
Management Center 3.6. Installation of VMC 3.6.0 is required to support vSpace
Server 8.1.1.5. For full deployment instructions, please consult the Deployment
Guide provided by NComputing sales representative.
1. Ensure that your OS and system drivers have been fully updated.
2. If you have not done so already, download vSpace Server 8.1.1.5 from the link provided
by your NComputing sales representative.
3. After unzipping the downloaded file, launch the installer. This will take the form of a .msi
or .exe file, depending on the version of software downloaded.
4. Run the installer with privileged user
5. On the last page of installer:

Uncheck Reboot when the installation/removal has finished. (Recommended)

6. In registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NComputing\Managed


Component

Add Multi-String value named MS address with IP address of VMC/MS server,


e.g. 192.168.1.2

7. Restart computer
8. Once the installation has finished, reboot the system when prompted to do so. This will
complete the installation process.

L/M-series Updates and Configuration:


L300 Firmware v1.9.301-3
Included with this release of vSpace Server 8 is a firmware update for L300 access devices.

M300 Firmware 2.1.1


Included with this release of vSpace Server 8 is a firmware update for M300 access devices.

Updating Firmware
While devices can pull firmware updates individually via the device GUI, the recommended
update method is by pushing new firmware from vSpace Management Center or the NCConsole.

Updating L-series Firmware from Version 1.6.3 or Older


L-series access devices with firmware as old as 1.6.3 or older lack certain features required to be
managed by vSpace Server 7 in the usual manner. In order to manage or update these devices

from the server end, Direct Management must be used. This management mode is outlined in the
following KB article:

NOTE: Direct Management should NOT be used for managing devices running 1.8.2. Once a
device has been updated to the latest firmware, they should be managed using the standard
server console environment. Direct Management is for use with firmware 1.6.3 and older, or
version 1.7.0.

Video streaming enhancements for vSpace Client

Landscape and auto-rotate support for oneSpace mobile clients

Adds support for multiple Windows File Shares in oneSpace deployments

Provides support for enhanced mobile app UX features (touch pointer/magnifying glass)

Recently Fixed:
The following known issue has been recently resolved for oneSpace deployments:

Fixed an issue that could cause remote Windows applications not to launch on mobile
clients in a oneSpace deployment (RDSL-5004)

Fixed an issue for oneSpace deployments that could cause Windows applications
running on Windows Server 2008R2 to intermittently not start (RDSL-5152)

Resolved an issue that caused a missing DLL error message to appear during installation
of vSpace 7.2.1 (RDSL-4492)

Resolved an issue that prevented Internet Explorer from closing correctly (RDSL-4944)

Fixed an issue that intermittently prevented LibreOffice from successfully launching


(RDSL-4975)

The following known issue has been recently resolved for vSpace deployments:

Resolved an issue that created a new management zone during a silent installation of
vSpace 7.1.3 while there is already a Master vSpace in the current zone. (RDSL-3877)

Fixed an issue that caused a Windows BSOD when using the Windows snipping tool in a
vSpace Client session (RDSL-4810)

Fixed an issue that caused vSpace Clients to crash during streaming multimedia
playback (RDSL-4756)

Fixed an issue that caused a semi-transparent grey bitmap being applied to images on
M300 devices during multimedia media playback through a browser (RDSL-5026).

Additional Notes and Known Issues:

OP2 protocol doesn't work properly with new vClient ver. 1.8.0.3 (RDSL-5154)

Windows sessions sometimes disconnect when running multimedia files on an M300 (RDSL5027)

A black screen can occur momentarily when a high resolution (1920 x 1080) display is used
with L300 devices and the user is using the mouse scroll up/down functions within the
Chrome browser (RDSL-5183)

A problem exists that prevents administrators from installing vSpace by right clicking on the
*.msi file and clicking on install (RDSL-4835)
Workaround: Run cmd as Administrator and run setup.exe

The uninstall wizard does not ask the user to close the application if the NC-Console GUI is
open when running the uninstall wizard.(RDSL-1763)

Using the Windows Safely Remove Hardware or the Eject button for USB memory devices
has no effect (RDSL-829)
