CHAPTER 2

A. Requirement analysis

Problem definition :
Monitoring, recording and computing the stocks of products are done manually and
slow. Checking of the expiration date of some goods are done in a slow manner and
can cause the staffs to forget the products disposal. Slow search speed because the
recording is done manually. Recording and checking of products are very time
consuming.

Major objectives in inventory system

General Objectives:
- To ensure that the supply of raw material & finished goods will remain
continuous so that production process is not halted and demands of customers
are duly met.
-To minimize carrying cost of inventory.
-To keep investment in inventory at optimum level.
-To reduce the losses of theft, obsolescence & wastage etc.
-To make arrangement for sale of slow moving items.
-To minimize inventory ordering costs.

Specific Objectives:
-To make faster the services to the costumers.
-To make sure that the store can't have a shortage in different kind of products.
-To monitor the expiration date of the products in the store.
-To have a quality services to the costumers.

Conceptual model
Prototype Model
A prototype is the sample implementation of the system that shows limited and
main functional capabilities of the proposed system. After a prototype is built, it is
delivered to the customer for the evaluation. The prototype helps the customer
determine how the feature will function in the final software. The customer provides
suggestion and improvements on the prototype. The development team implements the
suggestion in the new prototype, which is again evaluated by the customer. The process
continues until the customer and the development team understands the exact
requirement of the proposed system. When the final prototype is developed, the
requirement is considered to be frozen.

The prototype model will help in this system proposal because the prototype
model is fix in the system that we will propose. The first is Requirement Gathering in this
stage we will encompasses those tasks that go into determining the needs or conditions
to meet for a new or altered system. Taking account of the possible conflicting
requirements Including analyzing, documenting, validating and managing software or
system requirements. The quicker a prototype can be developed, the sooner it can be
used for demonstrations, internal or customer evaluation, to prove out certain
performance characteristics. Building prototype, in this step we will build a system base
in clients requirements. Costumer Evaluation, the client will have a opinion if he/she is
satisfy about the system that we will propose. If the prototype is to be retained and used
to produce the actual system, refinement will continue until the final system is
produced. However, if the purpose of the prototype is to resolve a technical issue, the
prototype is refined to the point where a solution, or insurmountable problem, is found.
The last step is Engineer product. In this step the model of the system is perfectly done
and it is usefull to the client.

Scope of the study

The scope of an inventory system defines which needs it addresses, including

valuing the inventory, measuring the change in inventory and planning for future
inventory levels. The value of the inventory at the end of each period provides a basis
for financial reporting on the balance sheet. Measuring the change in inventory allows
the company to determine the cost of inventory sold during the period. Together,
inventory values and level changes allow the company to plan for future inventory
needs.

User beneficiaries
The main beneficiaries of this study are the people and the company that have problem
in their inventory system.

7-eleven- The store will benefit in this proposal, because the system is for the

monitoring the sales and inventory of the store.

Company- the company will benefit a lot In this system proposal , because they
dont need to hire a lot of staffs in different branches of 7-eleven, and because of
the faster and good service that they have done the costumers will have a trust to
the store. And after that the sales of the store will grow up and its good for the
company.

Sales Manager- Sales manager dont need to monitor the sales and inventory of
the store manually. Because the system helps and faster monitoring of the

products of the store.

Staffs- The staffs dont need to do more works, cause the system helps to be

easy the tasks of every staffs of the store.

Client- Client also benefit this proposal cause the system Is produce for the
improvement of the store, that helps the client to have a faster and quality service

for the costumers.

Proponant- The proponent will benefit a lot In this system proposal, because if
the system will approved by the client and by the professor who give this task for
my group, the proponant will never have a fail grade.

Nature of study

B. Interview question

1) How can you monitor the stock product of the store?

2) What are the procedures did the cashier use when the costumer pay?
3) How much the sales of the store per day?
4) How can you monitor the expiration date of the product ?
5) If do you have a problem in monitoring the product of the store?
6) What is the existing system of the store?
7) Do you give a fast and good service for the costumers?
8) Do you think that you need to upgrade the existing system?
9) How can you monitor the incoming delivery of products of the store?
10) If the store have a good sale for day, month and per year ?
