SUNDAY SCHOOL:
After two meetings, the Sunday School Committee has a plan. We will begin on Sunday, September 20th
using a new curriculum, Workshop Rotation.org. With this curriculum, children study one lesson for four
weeks, using the arts, games, cooking and videos to understand the Bible. We encourage all parishioners to
view the www.rotation.org video on the internet to find out about this program. Children and parents will
gather with the congregation upstairs for the Collect and Prayer, then proceed downstairs to launch the first
of weekly children's chapel services, followed by active lessons.
We are starting a nursery for our smallest parishioners, hoping that all parents with babes and some willing
parishioners will form a caregiving rotation. We also welcome all parishioners to take a turn at teaching one
or two Sundays a year so that no one misses the service upstairs every Sunday.
On September 6th there will be three sign up sheets at coffee hour. The first to guarantee nursery care for the
first 12 weeks. The second will outline the first 12 weeks of rotation lessons so you can sign up to be a
teacher. In the spirit of our new curriculum, we want to name our Sunday School. In Ipswich, MA it is called
"The Beach" and each classroom is named for fish or shells. On the third sheet we will challenge you to come
up with a name for our Sunday School!
Please remember that we need art supplies and Legos. And on Sunday, September 20, coffee hour
refreshments will be ice cream sundaes.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
As requested, Prayer Request Cards are now on hooks in the pews, as well as on the table at the back of the
nave.
ALTAR FLOWERS:
Have a special event, birthday, anniversary or graduation you wish to mark? The Altar Flower sign-up sheet
is located on the table in the Narthex. A new sign-up sheet was added for August through October.
COFFEE HOUR SIGN UP:
A Coffee Hour sign-up sheet is now available on the ECW bulletin board for August-December services.
Anyone is welcome to host or co-host a coffee hour and the items offered to supplement coffee and juice can be
as simple or fancy as the host/hostess would like. It is always fun to buddy up and have someone host with
you. Please sign up if you are interested and ask Tracy, Leslie or Muffet for more information if needed.
IN OUR COMMUNITY:
Loaves And Fishes Needs Your Egg Cartons!
Please save and recycle your empty egg cartons and plastic shopping bags by bringing them to the church and
placing them in the "Little Red Wagon" or taking them directly to the Loaves and Fishes food pantry. Many
thanks!
Buddy Bag Backpacks for Foster Care
The ECW, in conjunction with the University College of Ellsworth, is collecting new backpacks through
Sunday, August 30. The backpacks will be given to the child foster care organization to help children, ages
infant 18, with immediate placement in foster homes. Often children are removed from their homes suddenly
and are not given the opportunity to bring treasured possessions. The Buddy Bag backpacks are filled with
new age appropriate items such as crayons, toys, stuffed animals, books, personal care items, etc. so that they
have some items to call their own immediately. Backpacks donated so far run $7 - $13. If you would like to
donate to this cause, please drop off your new backpack in the basket at the back of the church through August
30 or see BJ Fallica.
Remember to wear your nametags each Sunday!
