B. COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE COMPONENTS:


WARM UP
Ask students what clothing words they know in English. Ask what are you
wearing today. Elicit responses and have students point to each item can
name. Elicit or teach the spilling and write it on the board. For family items
students miss, you may want to have a student stand, point an item of
clothing, type of footwear, piece of jewelry, or accessory the student is wearing
and ask.

USING THE LARGE PHOTO


Have students look the photographs of the boy and girl. Tell them to look over
the clothing vocabulary and find clothing words that are new Give students a
minute or two to do this.

VOCABULARY
Have students look at the pictures of the boy and girl. Tell them that will label
each of the numbered items. Point to the first two or three numbers on the
illustration and elicit the name of the accessory or clothing item. Have students
copy these words into their textbooks next to the numbers.

C. UNIT RATIONALE:

This unit gives students an opportunity to talk about activities and


places, using prepositions of location with the classmates.
