1. Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) General


Scholarship -2011
---------------------------------------------------------------Qualifications:
(1)

Self-supporting

international students

enrolled/

will

be

enrolled

in

the

undergraduate course or graduate course as of April 2011.


(2) The GPA point in the previous year should be more than 2.60.
(3) The scholarship amount received from other institutions, etc should be 60,000 Yen or
less.
(4) Having previous experiences of volunteer/international exchange activities, or
having interest in these activities.
Number: 1
Scholarship amount per month: 30,000 Yen
Scholarship granted for a period: April 2011 ~ March 2013
Deadline: Apply until March 18, 2011 (Fri) to the International Student Support Team.

Applicants are expected to abide by the deadline and submit


application on time.
To apply, submit Form 3 (Application Form for Scholarships by Private Foundation)
directly to the International Student Support Team, send it by e-mail attachment to
ryugaku@ofc.a.u-tokyo.ac.jp , or fax to 03-5841-8168 (Ext.28168).

2. Docomo Scholarship for International Students -2011


---------------------------------Qualifications:
(1) Self-supporting international students from Asia who will be enrolled in the first
year of the masters course in April 2011.
(2) Research area should be one of the following:
Communication technology, data processing or other fields related with these two
areas.
Research areas in Humanities/Social Sciences for which communication or data
processing will be used.
(3) With a clear purpose for studying in Japan and able to make the most of their
research.
(4) Having enough Japanese-language proficiency to be able to adapt to the classes of
graduate school, etc.
Number: 1
Scholarship amount per month: 120,000 Yen
Scholarship grant period: April 2011 ~ March 2013
Deadline: Apply until April 1, 2011 (Fri) to the International Student Support Team.

Applicants are expected to abide by the deadline and submit

3. KANSAI PAINT SCHOLARSHIP -2011


---------------------------------------------------Qualifications (*):
(1) Self-supporting international students from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand,
Malaysia and China.
(2) Male students who were born on or after April 2, 1984.
(3) Enrolled in the third year of undergraduate course or in the first year of the masters
course as of April 2011.
(4) Must have Japanese language ability for daily conversation.
(5) Hoping to get a job in Japanese companies after graduation/completion.
*Veterinary Medical Sciences majors are not eligible to apply.
Number: 1
Scholarship amount per month: 100,000 Yen
Scholarship grant period: April 2011 ~ March 2013
Deadline: Apply until April 1, 2011 (Fri) to the International Student Support Team.

4. Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test (successful


applicant) scholars
---------------------------------------------------------------Qualifications:
(1) Those who passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test held in
Japan on October 24, 2010.
(2) Enrolled/ will be enrolled in the regular undergraduate course or graduate course as
of April 2011.
All eligible applicants will be recommended from the university.
Scholarship amount per month: 50,000 Yen
Scholarship grant period: April 2011 ~ March 2013
Deadline: Apply until April 6, 2011 (Wed) to the International Student Support Team.

Applicants are expected to abide by the deadline and submit


application on time.
Documents to be submitted:
(1) Application form (prescribed format, with a photograph attached)
(2) A copy of the test result of Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test 2010
(3) A copy of alien registration certificate

5. Nitori International Scholarship Foundation -2011 (2nd)


---------------------------------Qualifications (must satisfy all the following conditions) (*):
(1) Self-supporting international students enrolled or will be enrolled in the third or
fourth year of undergraduate course, or the first or second year of the masters
course in April 2011.
(2) Able to communicate in Japanese.
(3) 28 years of age or under as of April 2011.
(4) Not receiving any other scholarships.
(5) Able to participate in the international students exchange meeting held by the
foundation (twice a year).
*Those extending the regular study period are not eligible to apply.
Scholarship amount per month:
60,000 Yen (undergraduate students)
80,000 Yen (masters students)
Scholarship granted for a period: Until the final year of the course currently enrolled
(two years at the most).
Number: About 150
Application period:
Apply through the foundations website between March 1, 2011 and April 30, 2011.
The foundation may stop accepting application before the deadline if there are a lot of
applicants.
