Regardlessofwheretheywereborn,everyonehasaskeletonwiththeexactsamenumberofbones.In
thesameway,weallsharethesameluminousanatomy,whichincludesthechakrasandthe
acupuncturemeridians.Thechakrasareswirlingdisksofenergy.Thewordchakrameanswheelin
Sanskrit.Theyspinthreetofourinchesoutsidethebodyandlinktoourspineandcentralnervous
system.Thechakrasareadirectpipelinetothehumanneuralnetwork.Theyrotateclockwise,inthe

samedirectionthatthespiralarmsofthegalaxyrevolve.Eachchakrahasauniquefrequencythatwe
perceiveisoneofthesevencolorsoftherainbow.Thechakrasinanewbornchilddisplaytheirpure

adherestoachakradoesnotpermitittovibrateatitspurefrequency,andphysicalagingisaccelerated.

TheEarthChakras
Thefivelowerchakras,fromtheroottothethroat,arenourishedprimarilybytheEarth.Imagineatree
whoserootsgodeepintotheground.ThenutrientsitdrawsfromtheEartharecarriedupthetrunkto
thehighestbranches.Thesunlightitabsorbsthroughtheleavesisturnedintoenergythatinturnis
transferredallthewaytotheroots.ThefourupperchakrasarefedprimarilybytheenergiesoftheSun,
ourstar.Theskygodreligionsemphasizethedevelopmentoftheupperchakrastotheneglectofthe

THEFIRSTCHAKRA

Thefirstchakraislocatedatthebaseofthespine,betweentheanusandthegenitals.Itisthegateway
tothefeminine,extendingluminousfilamentsdownourlegsintothebiosphere.Likeataprootreaching
intothemoist,richplacesinMotherEarth,thefirstchakrasuppliesuswithessentialnutrients.
WhenwebecomedisconnectedfromtheEarth,webegintogetourlifenourishmentfromthesurface.
Asaresult,webecomelikeatreewhoseshallow,widespreadrootscannotkeepitfromtopplingduring
astorm.Weloseourstability,ourfoundation,andoursecurity.
WhenthefirstchakraisdisconnectedfromthefeminineEarth,wecanfeelorphanedandmotherless.
Themasculineprinciplepredominates,andwelookforsecurityfrommaterialthings.Individuality
prevailsoverrelationship,andselfishdrivestriumphoverfamily,socialandglobalresponsibility.The
moreseparatedwebecomefromtheEarth,themorehostilewebecometothefeminine.
Firstchakradrivesareprimaryandinstinctual.Weseekshelter.Weforageforfood.Westriveto

Thefourinstinctualdrivesfear,feeding,fighting,andsexaremirroredintheagendasofthelowertwo
chakras.
Anindividualoperatingoutofthefirstchakraisinastateofprimaryfusionwiththeworld.Heis
absorbedbythesensesandengagesthematerialworldexclusively.Hebelievesthattheworldowes
himsomethingandthatthosearoundhimshouldrecognizethatheisspecial.Hebecomes
selfcenteredandnarcissistic.
Thereareremarkablepositiveattributesofthefirstchakra.Itssurvivalinstinctsensurethecontinuation
ofthespecies:Theydriveustomateandbearchildren,andallowhumanstopersevereunderthemost
adverseofconditions.
THESECONDCHAKRA
Thesecondchakraislocatedfourfingersbelowthebellybutton.Itislinkedtothekidneysandtothe
elementwater.
ThesecondchakrametabolizesenergynutrientsintheLuminousEnergyField.Allformsofenergy
representfoodtothischakra.ItprocessestheEarthenergytakeninthroughthefirstchakraanddigests
emotionalenergiesinthenervoussystem.Whenthischakraisfunctioningproperly,itcanshed
negativeemotionssuchasangerandfearandexpelthemthroughthefirstchakraaswaste.

THETHIRDCHAKRA
Thethirdchakraislocatedatthesolarplexusandisassociatedwiththepancreas.Thisglandisthe

energybankerofthebody.
Thethirdchakraisthepowercenterintheluminousenergysystem.Itspowercanbeused
constructively,tomanifestouraspirationsintheworld.Whenuseddestructively,itcanrepressour
primarynatureorlibido.
Thefemininepowerofthefirstchakraandtheprimordialsexualenergyofthesecondchakraare

children.
Theloveoftheheartchakraisneithertheaffectionthatweexchangewitheachothernortheromantic
lovewefallinto.TheheartchakrathrivesontheloveofCreation.Thiskindofloveisnot
objectfocused,norisitdependentonanotherforitsexistence.Itisnotsentimental.Itisimpersonal.
Christiantheologianscallitagape.TheInkacallitmunay.Thiskindofloveisnotameanstoanend.It
doesnotleadtomarriageorrelationships.Itisanendinitself.
Oneofthenegativeexpressionsofthischakraisaninfatuationwiththeself.Abalancedheartchakra
allowsustocommittointimacyinlove.Itintegratesthemasculineandfeminineprincipleswithinus,
andwenolongerseekourmissinghalfoutsideourselves.
THEFIFTHCHAKRA
Thefifthchakraislocatedatthehollowofthethroatandinfluencesthethyroidgland,thetemperature
regulatorinthebody.
Thefifthchakraisourpsychiccenter,responsibleforclairvoyance,clairaudience,clairsentience,and
theabilitytocommunicatewithoutwords.Adysfunctionalfifthchakracanresultinunwantedpsychic
experiences.Sleepdisordersarecommonwhenthischakraisoutofbalance.Whenthefifthchakrais
clear,webegintoachieverecognitioninourfieldsofendeavorandacquiremasteryinourchosen

THESIXTHCHAKRA
Thesixthchakra,orthirdeye,islocatedinthemiddleoftheforehead.IntheHindutraditionsitisthought
tobethethirdeyeofShiva,whograntsknowledgeofperfecttruthandnonduality.Weexpressthedivine
withinourselves,andweseethedivineinothers.Yourealizethatyouareaneternalbeinginhabitinga
temporalbody.

hehasattainedgreatspiritualtruths,whenallhehasisacollectionoffacts.Shamansknowhowto

THESEVENTHCHAKRA
ThecrownchakraattheverytopoftheheadisourportaltotheHeavens,inthesamewaythatthefirst

destinies.TheEarthprotectsusandnurturesuswithherlifeforce,andtheHeavenspropelustoward

Thelessonoftheseventhchakraismasteryoftime.Whenwebreakfreeoflinear,causaltime,weare
nolongerinthetyrannicalgripofthepast.Todayisnolongertheresultofanearlierincident,andwe
experiencefreedomfromcauseandeffect.Whereasinthesixthchakra,thehealeracquiresknowledge
ofpastandfutureevents,whensheawakensthegiftsoftheseventhchakrasheisabletoinfluence

THEEIGHTHCHAKRA
Theeighthchakraisthewiracocha,orsourceofthesacred.Thischakraresidesafewinchesabove

thehead,andwhenawakenedshineslikearadiantsuninsidetheLuminousEnergyField.
Theinformationfieldsintheeighthchakraactasthetemplatetocreatethephysicalbody.Thischakra
islikeacarpenterwhobuildsachair(thephysicalbody)andlaterburnsitinhisfireplace.Thecarpenter
feelsnoloss,asheknowsthathecansimplybuildanotheroutofnewwood.Theeighthchakrais
unaffectedbythedeathofthebody.Ifanimprintofdiseaseexistsinthischakra,itislikeadesignflaw
thatisreplicatedwitheachnewchair.
Thenegativeexpressionofthischakraiscosmichorror,suchasisexperiencedbythosecaught
betweentheworldsofspiritandmatter.
Theattributeoftheeighthchakraisinvisibility.InthiscenterwebecomeawareoftheBeholder(known
inBuddhismastheWitness)aselfthathasbeenpresentfromthebeginningofourspiritualjourney.
Nowdisengagedfromthemind,itisabletobeholdthemindwithallofitsdramaswithoutsubscribingto
them.TheBeholderwitnessesourlifeunfolding,andunderstandsthatallofthestoriesweuseto
describeourselvesareonlystories.Beholderperceiveseverythingbutcannotitselfbeperceived,
becauseitcannotbeturnedintoanobjectofperception.TheBeholderisinvisiblebecauseitcannotbe
beheld.
Eventually,theBeholderwillbegintorevealitsownsource,whichisSpirit,ortheninthchakra.
TheeighthchakraresideswithintheLuminousEnergyField.Ithoversabovetheheadlikeaspinning
sun.ItisourconnectionwiththeGreatSpirit,theplacewhereGoddwellswithinus.
WeseethischakraillustratedasthelightsurroundingChristandasthefirethatdescendeduponthe
apostlesatPentecost,whentheyreceivedthegiftoftheHolySpirit.Whenwedie,theeighthchakra
expandsintoaluminousglobeandenvelopstheothersevenchakrasinavesseloflight.Afteraperiod
