1. SETUP WIRING
1.1) Connect the following to the rear of the Rapid Eye Unit
Power cable
USB keyboard/mouse
VGA cable
Crossover cable from PC LAN to (Rapid Eye Unit under test or Test fixture LAN).
TLS-4 Line 1 (or equivalent telephone line simulator), using a RJ-11 phone cable, to

2. NETWORK CARD IP SETTINGS


2.1) On the Test PC, set the network card properties to the
following and press the OK button. Verify that the IP
address is set as shown below:

3. SETUP TEST PC , ADMINVIEW (NETWORK and DIALUP SETTINGS)


3.A) NETWORK SETTING:
3.A) 1 Double Click on : Rapid Eye Multi-Media Admin
3.A) 2 Click on OK at the Login screen

3.A) 3 Click on + button to add a site.

3.A) 4 Enter the site name (PRODUCTION) and Click on the +


button to add a connection type.

3.B) DIAL- UP SETTING:


3.B) 1 Click on the + button again to add a dial-up connection site
3.B) 2 Select the Dial-up Networking option, enter U.S.A. in the
Country Code, and enter 102 as the phone number. Save and
Close the settings.

3.A) 5 Enter 172.25.2.1 into the IP address. When complete Click


the Save and Close button.

3.B) 3 Once complete the PRODUCTION site will look


like the following:
Press the Close button to exit the PRODUCTION
site.
Press the close button (X) on the top right of the
ADMIN software to exit.

4. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION


Check for any scratches, marks or dents on chassis.
Check for all screws to have no damage and torque
properly.
Check all internal cabling for proper connector
registration, proper insertion & latching.
Check for possible loose hardware and debris inside
unit. (shake the unit side to side).
Perform Hipot test (see Hipot Test.pub)

Make sure all fans are running (blades on
fans must be spinning when power is
applied). Use a flashlight for fans that are
harder to see

5. BIOS CONFIGURATION
Press the power switch on the rear of the unit and check BIOS
revision.
The BIOS version should read H.1.00, if 1.01 please power down
unit and go to Appendix A to downgrade otherwise press the
"Delete" key on the keyboard of PC to get into the bios setup.

Security menu
5.1 Enter the Standard CMOS Features by
pressing ENTER and use the Page
Down and Page down keys on keyboard
to change the date and time.
5.2 Use ESC key to exit Standard CMOS
Features screen and use the arrow keys
to select Load SetUp Deaults, type Y
and press the ENTER key.

5.3 Use the arrow keys to select the Set Supervisor Password
and press the ENTER key.

5.7) Type Y and press the ENTER key on SAVE to CMOS


and Exit (Y/N)? and the unit should reboot.

5.4 Enter monaco7 in lower


case and press the
ENTER key.

PROGRAMMING:

6.1) Unit should boot off from the CD.

5.5 You will be prompted to Reenter the password. Enter


monaco7 and press the
ENTER key again.
5.6) Once complete, insert the Rapid Eye Manufacturing CD/
DVD.
Please make sure you have the latest SW CD/DVD according to the BOM.
5.7)

Use the Arrow keys to select the Save & Exit Setup menu
option.

6.2) Verify the correct number of video channels are showing


for the unit (if not, follow the onscreen instructions to change)
6.3) Type q to go to the prompt
6.4) Type ./mfg.sh and press the ENTER key.

6.5) Scan model number and serial number of unit when


prompted (UPPER CASE LETTERS)
6.6) The software installation will eject the CD when completed
and reboot the unit.

7. MANUFACTURING MODE
7.1) While booting youll see the following display

you get a FAIL, please contact
Test Engineer.

7.2) Once the loading process is done and the prompt Press m key
to enter manufacturing mode shows, immediately type the m
key to enter manufacturing test mode (must be entered
within 5 seconds)
7.3) Type mfg (lower case) when prompted Manufacturing
login and press Enter.
7.4) Type q15919777 (lower case) when prompted Password
and press Enter.

7.5) At command prompt type or scan: testAll, press Enter


7.5.1 If all hardware checking passes: Local View will launch
at the UUT. Any failure will stop the auto-testing.

7.6) UUT should boot up to the Local view:

7.7) Enter no password, press OK to view Rapid Eye login.


7.8) Click close on the Welcome to Rapid
Eye LocalView message popup.
If testing a PAL unit, please proceed
to step 16.
7.9) View video images (camera amount depends on model)
from VGA monitor connected to VGA of UUT.
7.10) Verify Video images are (1 image per second) cycling on
PIP connected to the UUT spot monitor output.
7.11) Check that each video stream image
have no defects such as (fuzzy, blurry,
too bright or dark, fading in and out,
lines going across, etc)

8.

LOCAL VIEW SESSION


8.1) Honeywell Rapid Eye Local View

8.4) Check that each video stream image have no defects such as
(fuzzy, blurry, too bright or dark, fading in and out,
lines going across, etc)
8.5) Left mouse click on Alarms tab located toward the bottom
right of GUI.
8.6) Right mouse click on Alarm table and click on Rearm All.
Note: Disregard if UAS unit (UAS unit does not have tab)

8.2) Right mouse click on any of the video images on the grid
and click on the show info box
8.3) Verify the name of each video image (example: Camera1,
Camera2, etc.)
Note # of Cameras depends on what model of unit (example: 4
channel unit will show 4 cameras only)

9.

TEST DVD-ROM WITH VIDEO CLIP FOR UNITS


WITH DVD-ROM ONLY

9.1) Open the tray and insert the SAMPLE


CLIP CD.
9.2) In Honeywell Rapid Eye
Local View; Click on Clip tab:

10.MAINTENANCE SESSION USING ADMIN AND VIEW


SOFTWARE

10.4). On Maintenance Message; click on OK and then click on


Set Multi-Media Units Clock to grey out the button.

10.1) Using the PC: Left mouse double click on the RapidEye
Multi-Media View Icon and login as Administrator
with no password
10.2) Click on Maintenance tab:

10.3) Select Network


Connection, click on OK

10.5). In the System tab, make sure that Use DHCP is


unchecked and that the following IP address and subnet
mask information is as follows:

10.7) Verify the following, [UUT] features against the current


BOM and work instructions.
a) Serial Number (tag, unit barcode and internal s/n)
b) Software Version (check against BOM)
c) Memory
d) Storage Capacity
e) SSD Capacity
f) Date of Manufacture (must be current date)
g) Number of Capture Cards
h) DVD ROM
i) Main Board
j)OS Location

10.6) In HARDWARE tab verify that the information shown,


matches the Hardware configuration of UUT:

11. LIVE VIDEO SESSION USING ADMIN AND VIEW


SOFTWARE
NOTE: Run RapidEye Multi-Media View Software (installed on test
PC) to detect Live Video Streaming through LAN connection.

11.1) Left mouse click on Live camera icon at top left of screen

11.2) Confirm all channels are


highlighted and press OK

11.3) Verify that all video images have no defects such as


fuzzy, blurry, too bright or dark, fading in and out, lines
going across, etc)

11.5) Remove the cable from spot monitor output and connect
it to each camera output. Verify that camera image
shows on the VGA monitor with no defects and then

disconnect all cameras.

11.4) Verify the name of each video image (example: Camera1,


Camera2, etc.)
Note # of Cameras depends on what model of unit (example: 4 channel unit will
show 4 cameras only)

12. ALARM SESSION USING ADMIN & VIEW SOFTWARE


12.1) Click on Alarms

14.5) Click on the statistics tab.

14.6) Check the storage of the unit. Every camera must


indicate a start time and end time

15.2) Verify you can see the local view login screen without the
remote maintenance (at least 10 second wait) as shown below
and power down UUT (Press the power button to turn off the unit).

15.3) Remove all cables from the unit.

16.2) A Maintenance Message appears, left mouse click on


YES and the unit will reboot .

15.4) Give passing unit to Quality Dept.


16. EUROPEAN UNITS (PAL) INSTRUCTIONS
16.1) For PAL: While in the General screen below: Select
the PAL radio button
16.3) Once the loading process is done, Press the m key to
enter manufacturing test mode
16.4) Type mfg (lower case) when prompted Manufacturing
login and press Enter.
16.5) Type q15919777 (lower case) when prompted Password
and press Enter.
16.6) Type: testVideo, press Enter
16.7) Once in Local View, proceed with step 7.9 using the
PAL set of cameras.

Appendix A

Immediately press button on UUT DVD drive


tray to open and place the Win98 Boot CD in
and close tray.

C) Long tweezers

1.

Connect USB Drive to an available USB port on the UUT.

2.

Power up unit

On the Microsoft Windows 98 Startup Menu, type 1 and


press ENTER.

Turn off and remove power cable from UUT.

11. Reposition the jumper connector on CLRTC1 from


pin 2-3 to 1-2.

10. Clear the CMOS by relocating the jumper on header


CLRTC1 from pin 1-2 to pin 2-3 for at least 30
seconds. Use the long tweezers since area is small
and tight.
Note: CLRTC1 is located right next to the coin battery socket, with
dark blue color jumper connector on it.

12. Reconnect power cable to unit and turn on.


13. Continue with section 5 to check that BIOS revision
downgraded to 1.00 and enter BIOS setup.
