What students say

Some students come only to do the digital courses. It is
amazing. We had students from Great Britain and Italy
coming just for this course. Also we had an older student
who had been working for some time as a freelance archaeologist, and he came just for the digital part in the
course so that he could add that to his freelance resume.
This part of the program is so unique that you just have
to come here if you want the really thorough hands-on
learning.

Funding of SEK 5 billion a year goes to research at eight faculties, which gives us one of Swedens strongest and broadest ranges of research activity. Over 30 of our research fields
are world-leading, according to independent evaluations.

Students come to us to learn more about the past and how

people have lived and worked during different periods in
history. They get to encounter the finds (everything from
small burnt bones to grand buildings) that archaeologists
have to learn to interpret correctly to approach the distant
past. We offer a wide range of courses and highly value
the practical focus of these. This means that our students
get to go on excursions around Skne, encounter and work
with archaeological finds, and take part in archaeological
digs. We have close cooperation with the Historical Museum
and Kulturen in Lund, and this also means that our students
