Calling Line Identification Presentation on Call

Waiting (CLIPCW)

1 Definition
The Calling Line Identification Presentation on Call Waiting (CLIPCW) feature expands the possibilities of the Call Waiting (CW) feature. The subscriber for whom a call
is waiting receives a display of the call data of the waiting subscriber as additional information.
Requirements for the CLIPCW feature are the Calling Line Identification Presentation
(CLIP) feature as well as the activated Call Waiting (CW) feature and authorization for
FSK transmission.

Interactions
For interaction with other features, see Feature Interactions.
Standards
The feature is based on the following standards:
ETS 300648
ETS 300659-2

2 Mode of operation
With the Calling Line Identification Presentation on Call Waiting (CLIPCW) feature,
a subscriber receives information about another subscriber who would like to set up a
connection to the subscriber during an existing call. The network node transmits the call
data of the waiting subscriber after the call waiting tone. The feature uses the FSK method (frequency shift keying) for transmission. A modem tone generator (MDTOG) is used
as the signal source. The speech path is briefly interrupted for the duration of nonrecurring transmission. A special information tone or a spoken announcement is not made
available for the subscribers during the transmission.
The maximum length of the data to be transmitted is 20 digits.
Should the feature be authorized, it will be active permanently.
Transmission is possible if the calling and the called subscriber are in the same network
node or if the signaling systems MFC-R2, SS7 or QSIG are available between the network nodes.
To display the call data, the waiting subscriber needs a terminal with an FSK receiver
and a display or corresponding subscriber add-on equipment (CPE).
To protect data transmissions (e.g. fax, modem), the feature Voice Data Protection
(VDP) can be use. The transmission of CLIPCW data will be prevented.
Capacity
The percentages indicate the number of authorized subscribers for the feature within the
network node and their simultaneous application.

3 Subscriber controlled input

Subscriber controlled input is not possible for this feature.

4 Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with:
Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration
Pulse Metering
Message Detail Recording (MDR) for GeoCENTREX
Flat rate
Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and
Pulse Metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for
pulse metering.
Charges for feature input and feature usage
The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature
usage are assigned to the subscriber.
The following call charge registration is possible:
Facility input by operator (FAIO)
Facility input by subscriber (FAIS)
Facility usage (FAU)

Call charges for connections

Call charges for connections are assigned as follows:
as long as the calling subscriber is in the call waiting mode, the call will be free of
charge
once the called subscriber has accepted the waiting call, the calling subscriber will
be billed for the connection to the called subscriber
