Paris

First, we are going to the Eiffel Tower because it is one of the most popular
sightseeing in France. When people thinking of France, they think of the
tower, and it seems as if the tower represents France. During WW I, the Eiffel
Tower intercepted enemy radio communications, relayed zeppelin alerts and
was used to dispatch emergency troop reinforcements. It escaped
destruction a second time during World War II: Hitler initially ordered the
demolition of the citys most cherished symbol, but the command was never
carried out. Also during the German occupation of Paris, French resistance
fighters famously cut the Eiffel Towers elevator cables so that the Nazis had
to climb the stairs. Because of its wide historical background, it felt very
appropriate to visit.
The Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most famous pieces of Catholic
architecture in the city. It is recognized partially for flying buttresses,
gargoyles, and more importantly, its bells. In a more popular setting, it is
featured in Victor Hugo's novel, and Disney movie, The Hunchback of Notre
Dame. Because it is the setting for those stories, It would be fun to go there
and compare to the Disneys movie. The Cathedral featured in the movie was
magnificent, and it makes us want to see the bells that the hunchback rings
every day.
Versailles
The Palace of Versailles was the grand envy of Europe in the Absolutism age.
It is a beautiful and popular sightseeing location, castle is a main interest so
we decided to go there. It was built by the decree of Louis XIV to boast
France wealth, even though France is poor at the time. During the French
Revolution, the royal family was forced to move from the palace during the
women march on Versailles. It is not just a famous building but a symbol for
Absolutism.
Next, we would visit Thtre Montansier, a French theatre in rue des
Rservoirs, Versaille. "The theatre opened 18 November 1777, with Louis
XVI and Marie Antoinette in attendance. Since 2000, it has been headed by
Jean-Daniel Laval who, since taking on the role, has declared his wish to see
the Thtre Montansier opened up to a wider audience." We want to be a
part of that audience. If you want to go to France for culture then this is a
place. It contain historical value and culture. If a vacation is for sightseeing,
why not see some culture.

England
London

Big Ben, sometimes called the Great Bell, is the clock at the north end of
the Palace of Westminster in London. The reason we going there is because it
a famous sightseeing in London and magnificently shadow at Dawn. It hold
the fourth place in the world biggest clock. It is significant because during
1916 of World War I, the bells were silenced and the clock face darkened at
night to prevent attack by German Zeppelins. Then during World War II, the
clock was darkened to prevent guiding of blitz attack. It is a historical piece
that has gone through war.
London eye is giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River
Thames in London. The reason we're going there is because since 2015, it
been branded as Coca-Cola Ferris wheel. It also the world tallest Ferris wheel.
From the Ferris wheel, most of London can be seen. Its a sightseeing which
allows more sightseeing.
Manchester:
Hidden Gem: in 1794, it was a site dedicated to St. Mary. We're going there
because it one of the popular sightseeing in Manchester and its a Church,
we can probably pay our services. Its significance is that during the
Reformation it Henry V gave permission for a collegiate church dedicated to
St Mary, the Virgin of Manchester. Papal confirmation was issued by Martin
V in 1426. The church was dissolved during the reign of Edward VI, but was
re-founded by Mary I. It subsequently passed out of papal control, and it is
now the Manchester Cathedral of St Mary, St George and St Denys.
"Manchester's Chinatown is the second largest Chinatown in England. We are
going to be visiting both Asia and Europe at the same time. we already
visiting England, the last can be for visiting some China. It would be funny
atmosphere, here we are in England yet we in China. Let go taste China
culture mix with England in Manchester. I wonder what the accent going to
be, mix of British and Chinese would be funny." -Quang
Italy:
Florence:

The Medici Chapel is the first ancient style architecture in the Renaissance.
Were going here because it relate to that Medici video we watched in AP
Euro. It construction by Brunelleschi was painstaking process to celebrate the
Medici. The chapel would show the Medici prestige and open a new age for
patronage. If this project failed, the Medici reputation would have been
severely damaged. Without the Chapel the Medici could have not been the
most powerful family in Italy. Also we going here for the art, because its
Renaissance, we spent a lot of time learning this.
Ponte Vecchio is a Medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental bridge over
the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as
was once common. We would visit here because it displays a lot of culture. It
has shops on a bridge which is quite cool. Its view is beautiful to stare across
the lake. We can see the culture and heritage from long ago. We can even
buy some merchandise to remember this place.
Rome:
Sistine Chapel: a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of
the Pope, in Vatican City. Were visiting here because it shows a great deal of
Christian art. It historical significant is that it shows the mark of Northern
Renaissance art. It is also the palace where a new Pope is elected. It is a Holy
sanctum where a great deal of patronage is shown. It is a place for Papal
work to be process. Its official name is Vatican City.
Coliseum: is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city
of Rome, Italy. It is one of the most visited places in Rome so we going here
and jumping the bandwagon. It is also label as of 2007 the new wonder of
the world. We want to go here also because of the movie Gladiator. The
coliseum will bring the movie Gladiator to live better in head.
