Pie charts are best to use when you are trying to compare parts of a
whole. They do not show changes over time.
a Bar Graph.
Bar graphs are used to compare things between different
groups or to track changes over time. However, when trying to
measure change over time, bar graphs are best when the
changes are larger.
an Area Graph.
Area graphs are very similar to line graphs. They can be
used to track changes over time for one or more groups.
Area graphs are good to use when you are tracking the
changes in two or more related groups that make up one
whole category (for example public and private groups).

Statistics
Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. It
deals with all aspects of data, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design
of surveys and experiments. Statistics is alternately described as a mathematical body of science that
pertains to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data, or as a branch
of mathematics concerned with collecting and interpreting data. Because of its empirical roots and its
focus on applications, statistics is typically considered a distinct mathematical science rather than as a
branch of mathematics. Some tasks a statistician may involve are less mathematical; for example,
ensuring that data collection is undertaken in a way that produces valid conclusions, coding data, or
reporting results in ways comprehensible to those who must use them.
The median
This is the number that falls precisely midway in the set of numbers and is another way to describe it. You
can easily arrive at the median by arranging the numbers in order.
The mode
This is the number that occurs most frequently in a set of numbers but it does not tell us anything more
about the data.
The range
This is the difference between the highest and lowest values in the set of numbers, but, like the mode, it
does not tell anything much about the data.
The standard deviation
This is a number that tells you how closely the various scores are clustered around the mean in a set of
raw data.
KIND OF GRAPHS
A diagram displaying data; in particular one showing the relationship between two or more quantities,
measurements or indicative numbers that may or may not have a specific mathematical formula relating
them to each other. Graphs are pictures that help us understand amounts. These amounts are called
data. There are many kinds of graphs, each having special parts.
Circle Graph
A circle graph is shaped like a circle. It is divided into fractions
that look like pieces of pie, so sometimes a circle graph is
called a pie graph. Many times the fractional parts are
different colors and a key explains the colors. A pie chart (or a
circle graph) is a circular chart divided into sectors, illustrating
relative magnitudes or frequencies. In a pie chart, the arc
length of each sector and consequently its central angle and
area, is proportional to the quantity it represents.
