Rules of the Competition
I. Team Composition
1. Team shall comprise of three members consisting of two
mooters and one researcher.
2. Secret codes shall be allotted to each team immediately after the
provisional registration form is submitted so that identity of the
teams is not disclosed.
3. The team code should be used for all further communications
and submission of the memorials.
4. Teams are expected not to disclose their identity in any manner,
which may lead to their disqualification from the competition.
Further no scouting is allowed.
5. Any discussion by the team members, in respect of competition
or moot problem or any substantive matter related with the
competition, with the other teams, their faculty (if there), their
own friends or any other person, after commencement of the
competition shall be held as breach of Code of Conduct of the
Competition and both such teams shall be liable to be
disqualified from the Competition.
6. Researchers will not be allowed to speak when court is in
session. Researcher shall be allowed to interact with the Court
Officers only. All reference materials shall be submitted to the
Judges through Court Officers only.
7. Participants are required to prepare from both sides of the case.
They are required to argue only for the side which they get as
per draw of lots.
8. Participants shall have to sit at the place provided by the
organizers and wait for their turn.

Language of Court and Eligibility


Language of the Court shall be English.
All Law Colleges, Universities and Law Schools in India can
send their team(s) for the Competition.
All regular students of three years (LL.B.) or five years
(B.A./B.Com./B.B.A./B.Sc./B.Tech./B.S.L.LL.B.) Law course
during Academic year 2015-2016 are eligible for the
Competition.
Participants shall comply with age criteria as per BCI rules.

III.
Venue and Date of Competition
Competition shall be conducted in Amity University Rajasthan,
Jaipur from 30th October to 2nd November,2015.

Registration
Participation must be confirmed through an email send to
alsmootjaipur@gmail.com by 30th Sept, 2015.
The Registration fee for the competition shall be Rs. 3000/(Rupees Three Thousand Only) per team.
The Registration fee shall be payable through Demand Draft
and the scanned copy of the DD along with the duly filled
registration
form
shall
be
sent
to
us
at
alsmootjaipur@gmail.com along with Registration form on or
before 30th September 2015.
(NOTE: The original DD and the Registration form (hard
copy) shall reach to us on or before 05th October 2015. The
DD shall be made in the favour of AMITY UNIVERSITY
RAJASTHAN payable at JAIPUR, and the same shall be
sent to THE CO-ORDINATOR, III AMITY NATIONAL MOOT
COURT COMPETITION 2015, AMITY LAW SCHOOL, 14,
Gopal Bari, Near Ajmer Pulia, Ajmer Road, Jaipur, Rajasthan
302006.
The soft copy of the written memorials shall be submitted on
23th October 2015 before 23:59 hours (IST).
Short listed teams should report on 30th October 2015 at 02:00
P.M. For final compulsory registration, failing which teams will
not be allowed to contest.

Submission of Memorials
1. Teams should prepare from both sides of the moot problem.
2. Six copies of the memorials from both sides in prescribed
format along with a soft copy of the same are required to be
submitted on or before 30th October 2015 at the Amity Law
School, Amity Education Valley Kant Kalwar, NH-11C, Jaipur
Delhi Highway, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

4. Memorials should be typed and spirally bound with soft cover.


5. Memorials should not exceed 20 pages excluding cover page,
table of contents, index of authorities and bibliography.
6. Name of the College should not be disclosed anywhere in the
memorials.
7. Color code for memorials cover page- the memorials for the
petitioners should be in blue, and for respondents should be in
red.
8. All citations in the Memorial must be made using the OSCOLA
(The Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal
Authorities) format.
9. Typing of memorial should be as per specifications given below:

11. Memorials should not contain anything else apart from the
above specified format.
12. Memorials once submitted shall not be returned back to the
participants in any case nor shall any amendment be allowed
after submission of the memorials. Organizers reserve their
rights to use the memorials submitted to them as and when
required in appropriate manner.
13. Teams are required to carry their own copies of memorials for
the reference during Competition. Organizers are not bound to
help teams in such case by providing the copies of memorials
submitted.

VI. Distribution of Marks Each teams performance will be assessed


on basis of total of 300 marks. The distribution of marks for
memorials, researchers test and oral round will be based on
criteria given below-

Marks shall be given by the judges separately for different rounds


and final marks shall be given as aggregate of the marks given by
the judges.

Draw of Lots
There shall be four rounds of Competition Preliminary
(Knockout), Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Final.
Lots for preliminary rounds shall be drawn on 30th September
2015 at the University Auditorium.

Oral Rounds (Preliminary, Quarterfinal, Semi Final and Final


Rounds)
In each oral round a team will be represented by two speakers who will
present the arguments. The researcher will not participate in the
arguments but will be seated along with the speakers.

Communication between the participators and spectators is strictly


prohibited during the Hearings.

The use of laptops during the Hearings is strictly prohibited.

Presentation by Counsels for the Prosecution for the preliminary round:


30 minutes (no speaker can exceed 15 minutes); for quarter-final round:
35 minutes (including rebuttal); for semi-final and final round: 40
minutes (rebuttal is at the discretion of the bench).
Presentation by Counsels for the Defense for the preliminary round: 30
minutes (no speaker can exceed 15 minutes); for quarter-final round: 35
minutes (including rebuttal); for semi-final and final round: 40 minutes
(rebuttal is at the discretion of the bench).

Prizes
The following category of awards would the there in the
competition:

1. Best Team

Cash price Rs. 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Only.)

2. 1st Runner-up Team

Cash price Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand Only.)

3. 2nd Runner- up Team

Cash price Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand Only.)

4. Best Speaker

Cash price Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand Only.)

5. Best Memorial

Cash price Rs.5000/- (Five Thousand Only.)

NOTE: These shall be the minimum prizes to be awarded to the winners in


the above mentioned category, the prizes mentioned are subjected to
increase depending on the courtesy of sponsor(s).

All participants will be given certificate of participation.

Top 10 teams (except the winner) shall also be awarded with


certificate of appreciation.

VII. Dress Code & Discipline


1. Dress code shall be as prescribed by the Bar Council of India
for the advocates, except gowns.
2. Participants are expected to follow the discipline while in
campus and the accommodation provided by the organisers.
3. Incidents of eve-teasing or any kind of misbehavior will be taken
cognizance of with the help of Police, and the teams will be
disqualified from further participation.
4. The participants shall not stray around once they report to the
College for participation.
VIII. Miscellaneous
1. No travelling & dearness allowance of the participants shall be
paid by the organizing colleges.
2. Accommodation shall be provided to the participants by the
organisers from the morning of 30th October 2015 (09:00 hours
onwards) till the evening of 2nd November 2015 (till 19:00 hours)
only.
3. The requirement of accommodation shall be conveyed at the
earliest as it will be provided on first come first serve basis due
to limited seats.
4. Participants must behave in a dignified manner and shall not
cause any inconvenience to the volunteers and organizers,
failing which the team shall be disqualified from the
Competition.
5. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the college campus.
6. The participants must carry with them photo identity card of
their college.
7. The decision of the judges shall be final in context of the results
of the competition.
