Description
into the front door of a UN staff members
house. Once inside the house they robbed
the staff member of his wallet which
contained all his ID cards, bank ATM cards
a mobile phone and cash to the amount of
50 SSP. The staff member attempted to
resist but was assaulted and sustained a
minor injury to his upper lip. Afterwards the
offenders left the house.

Overnight between the 15th and 16th of


September in Juba, (location not reported)
unknown persons entered an NGO
compound and broke into an office. Entry
was gained from an adjoining residential
compound by climbing over a fence after
cutting the razor wire. They entered a
second floor office through a window by
climbing up and cutting the security bars. A
safe and two laptops were stolen. The safe
was smashed open within the adjoining
compound and the cash (undisclosed
amount) was removed. The theft was
discovered by NGO staff on the morning of
the 16th of September.

At about 1220hrs 16th September in Juba


one of the PoC Community Watch Groups
received a complaint from a Sudanese male
alleging that two IDPs had stolen his
motorcycle and had brought it into the PoC.
A search was conducted by UNPOL/FPU
and the CWG and two suspects were
arrested. It was not reported if the
motorcycle was recovered. UNPOL are
investigating.

SSNPS

On the 15th of September in Pageri Town,


reportedly two persons were shot by an
unknown offender. Both victims are said to
have passed away as a result of their
injuries. A person who subsequently
reported the matter was later suspected of
being involved and was himself shot by
SSNPS in unknown circumstances. He also
passed away.

to steal cattle. The attempt was detected by
some of the local civilian population and as
a result both groups exchanged small arms
fire. The offenders left the area and no
cattle were reportedly stolen. No injuries
were reported either. CID is investigating.

in the Puolcuum area of Jiir Payam one
male foreign national civilian was shot by an
unknown person. The victim passed away
due to injuries sustained. SSNPS are
investigating.

September an UNMISS patrol heard heavy
machinegun fire on the eastern side of
Rubkona in the vicinity of an SPLA position.
The firing appeared to be one way attracting
no response and could have been

Payam arrived at the main gate of the
UNMISS Malakal compound seeking
protection at the POC site. The persons
stated they were seeking protection due to
the current insecurity in the area of MakalShilluk. They also confirmed that the island
also reported as simply Makal is neither
occupied nor controlled by SPLA or SPLA
iO.

On the 13th of September in Mayen Gumel,


Kuajok, reportedly a man was beaten by a
mob after being suspected of stealing. As a
result of the assault the victim is said to
have passed away. SSNPS are reported to
have arrested eight suspects in relation to
the incident and are conducting further
investigations.

At about 0700hrs on Wednesday the 16th of
Armed Men September reportedly a convoy of SPLA
soldiers in two vehicles were travelling from
Mundri town to Gullu in order to verify the
shooting incident which is said to have
occurred on the evening of 15 September.
The convoy was ambushed by unknown
armed men. As a result of the incident six 6
SPLA soldiers are reported to have passed
away. Further details are still being sought
at this time.

fighting reportedly broke out at Maridi
Junction, Mambe, allegedly involving SPLA
soldiers moving from Maridi to Juba and the
local population. Three civilians were

On the 15th of September in Gullu, Mundri


County, reportedly a convoy of SPLA
soldiers moving from Lakes State to Juba
via Western Equatoria began firing shots
randomly into the air causing residents to
flee the village in fear of a suspected attack
from the SPLA troops. The convoy however
continued through the area with no attacks
or further disturbances taking place. No
injuries were reported.

On the 15th of September in Jambo Payam,


reportedly SPLA soldiers from Central
Equatoria attacked local civilians by beating
them and by looting the area. As a result
the local population are said to have

At about 1600hrs on Wednesday the 16th of


September in Maridi Town a private fuel
tanker laden with fuel overturned. Members
of the local population congregated at the
overturned vehicle in order to steal fuel
when one of the people dropped a
cigarette. This resulted in an explosion of
the fuel tanker and large fire. Reportedly
about seventy persons are said to have
passed away as a result of injuries
received. The number of injured is currently
unknown.
