Confirmation… the journey continues

Sunday 14th March 10.15am

Some of us might never have stopped to think about
it and some of us will be more aware of it than others,
but that does not take away from the fact that we’re
all on one. We’re talking ‘Journey’s of Faith’.
Each of us will have very different experiences
throughout our lives, but it’s fair to say that we will all
have significant moments in our faith that stand out in
th
our memory. On 14 March several people will be
taking the next significant step in their journey –
making the decision to be confirmed in their faith.
It’s a decision to be celebrated by the whole church
and as such we will be having a joint service. There
will not be a 9.15am or 10.45am service, instead
we will meet at 10.15am. Bishop Robert will be
taking the service, which will include communion.
Children’s work will take place as usual, with the
exception of Engage. Engage (the yr5&6’s) will be
encouraged to attend the confirmation service.
Children can arrive at the Lifecentre from 10.00am
onwards for a 10.15am start.

During morning prayer I
noticed that today was
St Chad's Day. Therefore
I prayed for you and the
saints that are gathered
under the shelter of
Werneth Low!
My parents were married
at St Chad's and
worshipped there until
the late fifties, when
they moved to St Mark's
Bredbury.
As a child I remember
munching mint imperials
at the early morning
communion service whilst
my mum tried to worship.
Not an exactly inspiring
story, but the Holy
Spirit has to start
somewhere! May the
Spirit of the Living God
give you and the saints
a spirit of love and
power and self
discipline so that St
Chad's may be like its
patron- a by word for
holiness of life and
powerful evangelism.
