from 01.04.2007 after restructuring of erstwhile West Bengal State
Electricity Board in compliance with Electricity Act, 2003. WBSEDCL

in the business of distribution of electricity and hydro-generation.

WBSEDCL announces recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Electrical)
through GATE-2016. WBSEDCL is looking for young, dynamic, talented &
technology driven individuals to join us in Powering Bengal. Electrical
Engineers/Power Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineers
intending to join WBSEDCL as Assistant Engineer (Electrical) are required
to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016).
Only GATE-2016 Score is valid for this recruitment exercise in WBSEDCL
under this advertisement. Score from GATE-2015 or from any previous
GATE examination is not valid.
The basic eligibility criteria details, vacancy available and other details are
mentioned below:

Name of the Post :- Assistant Engineer (Electrical)

No. of Vacancy :- 50 (Category-wise Reservation applicable)
Pay Band & Grade Pay :- Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- & Rs. 5,400/Age Criteria :- Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as on
01.01.2015 with relaxation of 3 Years for OBC (A) & OBC (B) and 5 Years
for SC & ST candidates of West Bengal only.
Educational Qualification:- Full Time 4 years B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc
(Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical & Electronics
(Combined)/B.Sc (H) in Physics with 3 years B.Tech in Electrical
Engineering/Power Engineering/ Bachelors degree holders in
Electrical/ Power/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Technology (3
years after Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) from any Institute
approved by AICTE/IITs. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

GATE-2016 INFORMATION
Online application process for GATE-2016 commences from 1st
September 2015 and closes on 1st October 2015.
Eligible candidates who wish to apply for the position of Assistant
Engineer (Electrical) in WBSEDCL will be required to first apply
for GATE-2016 and thereafter, appear in GATE-2016 as per
instructions and timelines notified by GATE-2016 Organizing
Institute in the relevant GATE Examination Paper:

getting GATE-2016 Admit Card.
WBSEDCLs ONLINE application process will commence after 17th
December 2015 and will be duly notified through press notification
for the intending candidates.
