GUARD 1 and GUARD 2 drag JOHN SMITH into the court room.
JUDGE
John Smith, you have been charged
for theft. Your punishment is: 'the
program'.
JOHN SMITH
(desperately)
Not 'the program'! Kill me instead!
Anything but 'the program'!
JUDGE
Your fate has been decided. The
decision is final. You will
participate as the first member of
'the program'. I am sorry.
GUARD 1 and GUARD 3 drag JOHN SMITH away.
JOHN SMITH
(screaming desperately)
NO! Please! Anyone! Help! HELP!
HELP ME!
JUDGE
Justice prevails.
INT. TARDIS
CAMERA: IN THE TOP BACK LEFT HAND CORNER, POINTING TO THE
OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROOM.
Sparks fly. THE DOCTOR is frantically running around the
TARDIS console, just messing with it.
THE DOCTOR
(frantically)
Crashing! Why does she ALWAYS crash
after I regenerate? Where's the
Zero Room? No time! Why does my
voice sounder higher than usual?
Why is everything bigger than
earlier? WHY IS THE TARDIS
CRASHING?
THE DOCTOR tries to pull the dematerialisation lever, and in
doing so, more sparks fly.
THE DOCTOR
(frustrated)
SERIOUSLY! WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING!
THE DOCTOR pulls out the sonic screwdriver, points it at the
console, activated it and runs to the keyboard. THE DOCTOR
types frantically.

INITIATE EMERGENCY LANDING SEQUENCE
3! REPEAT, EMERGENCY LANDING
SEQUENCE 3! AND CANCEL DESKTARDIS takes off.
THE DOCTOR
-TOP REWRITE PROGRAM! I LIKE THIS
ONE! MAY BE A BIT SMALL, BUT
ANYWAY... Oh! We've taken off!
BADA-BING, BADA-BOOM-BA!
He runs around the console frantically messing with it.
FADE IN:
TITLE SEQUENCE
INT. COURT ROOM
CAMERA: AT THE BACK OF THE COURT ROOM, POINTING DEAD
FORWARD.
GUARD 2 helps JUDGE from their chair. TARDIS materialises.
CAMERA: POINTING INBETWEEN GUARD 2 WITH JUDGE AND THE
TARDIS.
GUARD 2
What the hell is that box?
JUDGE
It's... A friend of mine.
THE DOCTOR comes bumbling out of the TARDIS. Smoke billows
out of the doors. THE DOCTOR then locks and closes the
doors, and turns around.
JUDGE
Hello, Doctor!
THE DOCTOR
Who are you?
JUDGE
I'm- Oh! Wait! This is right after
your regeneration! Ah! I can't say
yet.
THE DOCTOR
Where am I?
JUDGE
We are on the Prison Satellite P.S.
Toyacker.
THE DOCTOR

THE DOCTOR
Who is screaming? Lets find out!
They are dead, surely, but I know I
can stop whoever killed them! New

JUDGE

some information I wouldn't tell

JUDGE

GUARD

except if you are River Song, his
wife.
GUARD 2
His wife? How can he legally have a
wife? He looks, like 15!
THE DOCTOR
15! I look 15! GET ME A MIRROR! I'm
The Doctor. I'm a Time Lord from
the planet Gallifrey. I fought and
killed in the Last Great Time War.
I ENDED the Last Great Time War. I
am over 5000 years old. Actually
around 5167. Or is it 5617? I don't
know specifically... I may of added
and removed a few years here and
there...
GUARD 2
How are you 5167?
THE DOCTOR
No more chatting! Now time for
running!
JUDGE

THE DOCTOR

INT. CORRIDOR
CAMERA: POINTING INTO THE TURN
THE DOCTOR, JUDGE and GUARD 2 are running.
CAMERA: POINTING AT THE DOOR.
THE DOCTOR, JUDGE and GUARD 2 run to the door.
GUARD 2
I have to codes for the door. What

THE DOCTOR

to the door, it sparks and beeps.
GUARD 2

THE DOCTOR

GUARD 2 pulls open the door and THE DOCTOR, JUDGE and GUARD
2 continue running.
CAMERA: ON THE WALL NEXT TO THE DOOR, SLIGHTLY AWAY FROM THE
DOOR, FOLLOWING THE DOCTOR, JUDGE AND GUARD 2.
Door opens. More running.
CAMERA: MOVING, BEHIND THE DOCTOR, JUDGE AND GUARD 2.
THE DOCTOR
THIS IS IT!
GUARD 2
Door K14? That's a storage
cupboard...
THE DOCTOR
Why was someone in a storage
cupboard? The voice was too low
pitched to be female, so it was a
male.
JUDGE
No clue, Doctor.
THE DOCTOR
Guard, go in! First, wear these.
THE DOCTOR pulls out a pair of glasses.
THE DOCTOR
So I can see what you are seeing!
In! Now!
INT. STORAGE ROOM
CAMERA: LIKE ONE OF THE ITEMS ON ONE OF THE SHELVES
GUARD 2
Oh dear. Doctor!
GUARD 3
I loved him. Why did he?
GUARD 2

himself, well that is what it seems

GUARD 2
What? How is it impossible?
THE DOCTOR
Either the other guard did it, or
the killer is IMPOSSIBLY good at
hiding. Plus, how?
(pause)
What's that in the corner of your
eye? A bug? Oh, this room is filled
with bugs. It's them... They didn't
decide to attack until they had
you. I think they don't register
females. Lucky...
GUARD 3
I am not lucky... John Smith got
away, sir.
THE DOCTOR
Who's John Smith? I'm John Smith!
GUARD 3
He can't be!
JUDGE
He goes by John Smith sometimes. We
called the prisoner John Smith
because he didn't have a registered
name. We got him because he was
found, unconscious at the crime
scene.
THE DOCTOR
Sheesh! Unconscious at the crime
scene... Continuing on... GET OUT!
GUARD 2
The door won't budge, sir.
GUARD 3
Why are you calling him sir?
JUDGE
Anyone associated with the head
enforcer shall be called by either
sir or ma'am, depending on their
preference.
A gas fills the room. GUARD 2 and GUARD 3 choke and fall to
the ground and die.
THE DOCTOR
WHY? Why attack the staff on this
prison? What is the name of the
closest planet?

Planet Earth, Doctor.
THE DOCTOR
To the escape pods!
INT. CORRIDOR
CAMERA: RIGHT NEXT TO THE KEYPAD, POINTING AT THE DOOR IN A
CLOSE UP.
THE DOCTOR runs to the door, slides it open and JUDGE
follows.
JUDGE
Why are we going to Earth?
THE DOCTOR
To get some help from a few friends
of mine...
JUDGE
I have an idea. Instead of those
friends, we can contact UNIT!
THE DOCTOR is ignoring JUDGE. He is fiddling with a radio in
the escape pod.
THE DOCTOR
Contacting UNIT, this is The
Doctor, scientific advisor.
JUDGE
Wait... What?
THE DOCTOR
UNIT are the 'friends' I was
talking about! Do you know about
Torchwood?
JUDGE
HOW DO YOU?
THE DOCTOR
Captain Jack sure was annoying when
he traveled with me. He remade
Torchwood in my honor. I hated
Torchwood, they were evil.
JUDGE
Are you making stuff up?
THE DOCTOR
Ever seen the list of the dead in
the battle of Canary Wharf? Rose

THE DOCTOR

JUDGE

Contacting Toyacker Escape Pod 13.

THE DOCTOR
The Doctor, loud and clear.
RADIO
I mean it. The ACTUAL Doctor! You
sound 15!
THE DOCTOR
Regeneration went all wobbly... I
am a 5000 year old man in a 15 year
old body. Time is funny. Today is
the time when I got younger, so I
must get older again.
RADIO
Any proof of your actual identity?
THE DOCTOR
I can recite everything that has
happened to me... Although it will
take a long time... Over 10000
years! And then I have 10000 years
of material to work with... I have
forever to do this! Wait, I DON'T!
Can you let us land at UNIT HQ? I
left my TARDIS on Toyacker, since I
have just regenerated. My TARDIS
seems to crash after I regenerate a
lot, don't you think?
RADIO

Doctor. I am the Brigadier.
THE DOCTOR
Not MY brigadier.
RADIO
He died along time ago... But you
know that. We have scanned the
Toyacker, there are 15000 more life
forms than an hour ago, sir. Plan
of action?

Bug spray. Lots of bug spray. And
LET ME LAND!
RADIO
Bug spray?
THE DOCTOR
CAN I MAKE MYSELF ANY CLEARER? WE
NEED BUG SPRAY! TRANSMAT US DOWN!
RADIO
Right away, sir.
THE DOCTOR
Stop saying sir! It's annoying!
RADIO
You are the second highest ranking
member of UNIT, to be fair, sir.
Over and out.
JUDGE
Doctor, you never mentioned that
you have the SECOND MOST IMPORTANT
JOB IN THE AGENCY THAT I DREAM OF
WORKING IN!
THE DOCTOR
I don't think there would have been
a need for me to have mentioned it
in the past, do you?
JUDGE
Point. Now, we have to get back to
EarJUDGE slumps over and stops breathing. THE DOCTOR then gets
out his sonic screwdriver and scans him.
THE DOCTOR
What the hell? He seemed fine!
Scans say: Heart Attack, cause of
heart attack: Unknown. Most
probably what the bugs emit that
kills humans. He's had prolonged
exposure.
The room shakes.
CAMERA: SHAKE!
EXT. PARK
CAMERA: POINTING AT A WHITE SPHERE OBJECT IN THE GRASS.
THE DOCTOR comes walking away from the sphere, holding a
device that looks like it was made in 3 minutes.

Doctor, come in. Can you read?
THE DOCTOR
There! Got it! Loud and clear!
RADIO
Someone accidently edited the
transmat path off by QUITE a bit.
THE DOCTOR points his sonic screwdriver at the screen of the
device, and activates it.
THE DOCTOR
Fantastic. I'm in blooming
Australia! You are in the UK, I am
in AUSTRALIA!
RADIO
We have a branch of UNIT in
Australia, so do not worry. And we
are now residing in the middle of
the ocean, at the bottom of the
Mariana Trench.
THE DOCTOR
Oh goody! Useless information!
RADIO
(distantly)
Sir! Toyacker has been destroyed. I
repeat, Toyacker has been
destroyed. We don't know how, it
just erupted in a burst of flames.
THE DOCTOR
The bug's gas! It's combustible!
That's how! MY TARDIS!
RADIO
Just wait for the AIT to arrive.
They won't be long.
CAMERA: MOVING, FOLLOWING THE DOCTOR AS HE ACTS IN A NORMAL
FASHION FOR SEVERAL HOURS.
Cars pull up to the sphere.
OFFICER 1
Excuse me, teenager, did you see a
man leave that sphere.
THE DOCTOR
Who are you?
OFFICER 2
We are the taskforce of the AIT.

a subdivision of UNIT, the Unified
Intelligence Taskforce. You are
here seeking The Doctor, who has

THE DOCTOR
Of course! No-one from UNIT has
ACTUALLY SEEN me, so I'm just
described by what my voice sounds

a hearing test. I've mentioned it
5-6 times in the past 5 minutes! I

mathematicians, and scientists, and
anyone else who is smart! We need
to figure out what those bugs are,
what is in the gas, and why they
are killing the males.

AIT didn't care about that.
THE DOCTOR

PERSON 1
I am a hacker, who is in charge of
maintaining the hard drive storage
system of the AIT. We use localised
files instead of using the
internet, because of our internet
speeds.
THE DOCTOR

PERSON 1

CAMERA: FACING 2 COMPUTERS.
THE DOCTOR and PERSON 2 sit down in front of the computers.
THE DOCTOR
Let's hack... Torchwood!
PERSON 1
You know Torchwood?
THE DOCTOR
Captain Jack changed it to what it
is now in honor of me.
PERSON 1
How long ago?
THE DOCTOR
2007-ish?
PERSON 1
That's over 2000 years ago!
THE DOCTOR
And he's still the head of
Torchwood!
PERSON 1
3, 2, 1, Begin!
THE DOCTOR and PERSON 1 begin typing furiously on their
respective keyboards. After a minute or so:

the second firewall!

I may have realised that I made
this, forgot that I made it, gave
it to Jack to use, remembered that
I made a complicated security
system for servers/websites. I made
it easy for someone who wrote the
code to know how to remove the
firewalls.

The bugs only seem to target males.
BRIGAIDEIR
We need to get the team on that.

nothing to kill The Doctor.
OFFICER 1

BRIGAIDEIR
I am not allowed to disclose that
information.
THE DOCTOR runs into the room.
THE DOCTOR
Something you aren't telling me?
There seems to be information on
the drives about these bugs.
BRIGAIDEIR
There is? I don't remember any
previous encounters.
THE DOCTOR
I never mentioned that this was an
encounter file. I was just a study
file, with the threat level being:
Low to None.
OFFICER 2
Is anything wrong, Doctor?
THE DOCTOR
No, just suspicious. I just want to
know if anything is going on.
