Picasso (1881 1973) of Spain was the most prolific of all
professional painters in a career which lasted 75 years. It has
been estimated that Picasso produced about 13,500 paintings
and designs, 100,000 prints and engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300
sculptures and ceramics. His oeuvre has been valued at 500 million (US$ 788
million).
Picasso was a master fully erratic pioneer with a hand in every art movement of
