Key Poll Findings Michigan Congressional District 7 Survey

Electoral Environment
An overwhelming majority of likely voters in Michigan CD 7 say things in the country are on the wrong track (70%,
right direction 24%). On the generic ballot for Congress, a Republican candidate (43%) has an eight-point
advantage over a Democratic candidate (35%). Independents choose a Republican (30-18%, 21% someone else,
31% not sure).

A majority of voters have an unfavorable opinion of Hillary Clinton (39% favorable, 57% unfavorable), with 47%
having a very unfavorable opinion. Clintons image is a net negative among women (46% favorable, 51%
unfavorable), men (30%/65%) and Independents (31%/59%). Most voters also disapprove of the way President
Obama is handling his job (41% approve, 56% disapprove).

Candidate Images
Incumbent Republican Tim Walberg has a solid image, nearing 50% favorability (48% favorable, 34% unfavorable).
Walbergs image improves significantly among Republicans (72%/13%) and remains positive among Independents
(43%/36%). A Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, Gretchen Driskell is a relative
unknown to likely voters in the district (21%/21%, 58% not sure).

Walbergs 17% lead over Driskell doubles the 8% lead for a Republican on the generic ballot.

Walberg Job Approval
A near-majority of voters in the district approve of the way Tim Walberg is handling his job as Congressman (49%
approve, 32% disapprove). Independents (45%/37%) and Moderates (41%/34%) give Walberg positive reviews on
his job performance.


METHODOLOGY:
The sample size for the survey is 404 likely voters in Michigan Congressional District 7 and the margin of error is +/-4.96%. Cell phone
interviews were conducted using live operators and land line interviews were conducted using Interactive Voice Response (IVR).The survey
was conducted September 12-13, 2015 by Harper Polling. The demographic profile of the survey sample is as follows: Female 53%, Male
47%; Republican 33%, Democrat 30%, Independent/Other Party 37%; White 83%, Other 17%. The total percentages for responses may not
equal 100% due to rounding.
