Welcome!
We extend a special welcome to our guests, visitors and all who join us in worship today. Please let us know of your presence or
any prayer requests you have by filling out one of the cards in the pew rack and placing them in the offering plate. We hope that
our church home becomes your church home and the spiritual place where you grow through the
Word of God.
Nursery care for children up to three years old is located on the main floor of the Welcome Center across from the library. Older
children attending the church service are encouraged to borrow a Toddler Tote filled with activities as you enter the Sanctuary.
Concerning the Sacrament of the Altar
We believe that Jesus offers Himself to us in the Sacrament His true body and blood, for the forgiveness of sins. We also share
the scriptural concern for those who participate in the Lords supper that they recognize what they are receiving
(1 Corinthians 11:27). Therefore, we ask that all who desire to receive the Lords Supper please carefully examine themselves
using the communion information card found in the pew rack.
Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at both services.
For those who desire, we offer gluten-free wafers (please indicate your desire to the Pastor or Elder) and
non-alcoholic wine (located in the rose colored cups in the center of the individual cup tray).

CONFESSION
P: O almighty God, merciful Father,
C: I, a poor, miserable sinner, confess unto You all my sins and iniquities with which I have offended You and justly
deserve Your present and eternal punishment. But I am heartily sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and
I pray You of Your boundless mercy and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter sufferings and death of Your
beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me, a poor, sinful being.

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

Ein Feste Burg Ist Unser Gott
In remembrance of our German Lutheran heritage, the beam above the altar testifies of Gods abiding presence (drawing from the
popular hymn of the same title) upon which we can rely throughout our earthly lives.

The Book of Judges - Gods Kingdom Revealed Through Flawed Heroes
It is human nature to want to have larger-than-life heroes--men or women who rise above the fray, and do great things. This is
how we often view Bible heroes, and yet reality is somewhat different than our desires. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than
in the book of Judges, an historical compilation of the leaders and rulers of Gods people from the time of the culmination of the
conquest of Canaan until the time of the Kings. What we discover in these stories is the furthering of Gods Kingdom even (and
especially?) through these flawed people. Join us on Sunday mornings this fall as we learn how He did and how He still does
today! Grab a cup of coffee and join Pastor Davis study group.
(Loomis Center)
The Great Deceiver This book takes a look at Scripture's most vile character: Satan. Though popular culture may paint the
devil as a buffoon-like character in a red jumpsuit, this depiction makes light of his sinister and diabolical nature. His approach is
straightforward; his objective is final: separate every man, woman and child from God forever. This class will be led by Pat Croll.
Please join us!
(Welcome Center - Library)
Gods Word for Today: Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah this continuing series tells of the call for God's people to repent
of their sins, to exercise justice among the oppressed, and to look to the Messiah. Although written against Nineveh, Nahum brings
"good news" to believers. In this evil world of ours, Habakkuk declares that "the righteous will live by...faith." Zephaniah points to
the "day of the LORD," when His people will be saved and the wicked punished. This study led by Tim Gandre and Tony
Rylander.
