Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all peoplefor kings and all
those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Tim. 2:1-2, NIV).
When Paul wrote these words to Timothy, they were not living under godly rulersbut they were to intercede for them.
Many areas and nations today live under Islamic rulersand we must pray for them. Let's pray this week for their salvation
and for their favor toward God's people, that they may live quiet and peaceful lives and freely minister to others.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

COTE D'IVOIRE and OTHER NATIONS FACING ELECTIONS: An alumnus writes from Remember us in
your prayers during this period of elections here in Cte d'Ivoire. Presidential elections are slated for October 25. The
current president, in power since 2010, is a Muslim. Presidential elections will also be held in October in Guinea
(11th), Burkina Faso (11th), and Central African Republic (18th). Election times are often fraught with tension and even
violence. Already the interim president of CAR is calling for postponement after fresh Muslim/Christian violence
erupted this past week in the capital city. Pray that God's people would be beacons of hope in these countries, that they
would seize opportunities to talk of the eternal Kingdom that ultimately rules over all earthly kingdoms. Pray for each
candidate and president, that they might come to know their true Master and Lord.
NIGERIA: A student asks for prayer for a new convert. This young lady's Muslim family sees the positive changes in
her life and admires the faith she displays, but she fears their reaction if she presents Christ to them. Pray that the Lord
would give her boldness and the opportune moment to share the reason for the hope that is now in her.

In the News
Six churches in northwest Tanzaniathree of them Assemblies of God churcheshave been burned down by Muslim
extremists within the past ten days. The arsonists have not been caught; in fact, no suspects have been arrested in any
of the church burnings in the area over the past two years. Please intercede for these pastors and churches, that their
firm faith would be a witness. Pray for those who seek to destroy God's work to please Allah; may they come to know
His love and intentions for them. See more details at http://bit.ly/1N0YCYw.

From Global Initiative*

Intercede for the small Christian community in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Islamic group Hamas controls this
small strip of land along the southeastern Mediterranean Sea, bordering Israel on the north and east and Egypt on the
southwest. Fewer than 2,000 of its 1.9 million people claim Christianity as their religion; the number of evangelical
believers is fewer yet. Pray they would sense the precious presence of the Lord in their lives, strengthening their faith.
Pray that, despite the opposition, they may reach out to dissatisfied people around them.

For Muslim Women**

Pray that God would raise up female apologists/theologians whose messages would speak specially to Muslim women
in the decades to come. Women can speak more freely to and ask questions of other women. Christian women who are
able to succinctly explain and defend the faith are a blessing to seeking hearts. May the Lord raise up many who will
accept this call and pursue the training needed to minister in this way.
