    Three Redwood City parks will host artist Michael Koliner as he works with community members to build "Cob-Adobe Benches" -- functional pieces of art that are visually distinctive and also convenient for park-goers. Everybody in the community is invited to participate in a "Harambee" (which means "all pull together" in Swahili) event. Food, refreshments, and music are included. What you will need to bring to participate is your grubbiest clothes, because in order to build these pieces, as many people as possible will need to join a mud dance (stomping in mud) in order to ready the cob-adobe needed to finish these functional art pieces. Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to volunteer and be a part of the art installation!

    Meet Curator Lance Fung and Artist Michael Koliner

    Lance Fung, an International cur ator who recently returned home to the Bay Area to continue creating
    world famous public art exhibitions, shares his vision for the Bay Area and will introduce emerging artist
    Michael Koliner from Pittsburgh, PA. Both are excited to share with you about the interactive, functional, and
    great art they have planned for Redwood City this October.

    At each Harambee, we will have the following:


    Refreshments, Craft Activity, Music, Info Booths will be provided
    Join artist, Michael Koliner, neighbors, and friends,
    in all pulling together to create something fun in your park
