SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION
a. Course Description
This course is a survey of contending ideas, theories, and arguments. It provides a
foundational understanding of the various theories in ethics such as Divine Command Theory,
Ethical Egoism, Subjectivism, Social Contract Theory, Utilitarianism, Deontology (Kantian Insights),
Feminism, and Virtue Ethics. It is also concerned with the methodological considerations and
approaches regarding some fundamental thinking and practices related to the pursuit of the good life
and enhancement of TIP values.

SPECIFIC GOALS FOR THE COURSE
a. Course Objective
This course aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of the various
theories in ethics to enable them to observe moral uprightness and develop a sense of social
responsibility.
b. Course Outcomes
1. Describe the philosophical study of ethics

3. Identify, analyze and evaluate the ethical dimensions of various personal and social issues
4. Enhance the ability to read, think, and write in a critical/philosophical manner
