CDSS Post Installation Check List

I. CDSS Client Pre-requisites:

II. CDSS Client Installation Notes:


1. CDSS-File-Download Location:
http://adeassvir02-sdc.nhg.local/CDSSFileDownload/

2. CDSS installer contains installers for prerequisite-items.


To install CDSS, please follow CDSS Desktop Application Deployment Guides available at CDSSFile-Download location.
3. Important: For Win7, additional steps are required. Please read and follow Notes for Win7
installation.pdf available at CDSS-File-Download location.

III. CDSS Post Installation Check List:


1. Restart computer after CDSS installation.
2. Verify CDSS Client version.
Click [here] to check the latest CDSS version.

If CDSS version is not updated to the latest, Please run CDSS Updater from C:\Program
Files\NHG\CDSS\Updater folder.
Important: Please do not run from C:\CDSS\ServiceUpdates folder.

2.1. Verify that a successful CDSS UIC update has taken place:
a) Go to C:\Program Files\NHG\CDSS\Updater\Logs
(if not available go to C:\Program Files (x86)\NHG\CDSS\Updater\Logs)
b) Open yyyymmdd_UpdaterLog.txt , where yyyymmdd refers to the date when CDSS Updater was
performed.
c) Look for these lines in the UpdaterLog,

hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Download Complete.


hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Activation Initializing.
hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Activation Started.
hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Activation Completed.
hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Update Process Successful.

if found, continue to Step No. 3.


d) Otherwise if you encounter this message in the UpdaterLog:
[ERROR] hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Error in Update Process.
Repeat step No.2 to Update CDSS UIC again.
3. Verify that the required components are installed for Win7.
Skip this step and continue to step 4, if you are verifying on Win XP computers.
3.1. Do the following folder and file exist?

3.2. Does the Window > Start up folder contain CDSS AutoRestartUIC"?

If the answer to 3.1 or 3.2 is NO, please re-install CDSSAutoRestartUICSetup.msi


(refer to Notes for Win7 installation.doc). Then, restart the computer and return to this step.

Open and logon to CPSS2/eIMR with your


user ID and password.

3.1 Download the latest CDSS-SimulationProgram from CDSS-File-Download location.


3.2 Refer to the steps in How to run CDSSsimulator.pdf from CDSS-File-Download
location.

Upon login to CPSS2/eIMR, If your user id is


assigned to CDSS, you should be able to see
activated (red) CDSS Icon ( )

You should be able to see CDSS Icon activated

General trouble shooting:


If
If you see the following error from
CPSS2:

If you cannot activate CDSS icon after


logging into CPSS2
If CPSS2 is not available in the client
computer.
If you cannot active CDSS (CDSS icon
remain grey) after simplified method.

remain grey) after standard method.

5. Verify that NHG Updater Service is running.


(Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services)

Please change to start this service automatically if its startup type is not automatic or its status is
not started.
If this NHG Updater Service is not installed, please download the latest NHG Updater Service
and install. The installer file: NHGUpdaterServiceInstallation-Production.msi is available at
http://ccoeprdupd/auroradeployment/
6. Verify if CDSS configuration is available in the NHG Updater config file.
i.
Open folder C:\Program Files\NHG\NHG Updater Service.
ii.
Right click file NHGUpdaterService.exe.config and click Open With > Notepad.

iii.

Check if the nhg updater configuration file contains CDSS.


(Check if the highlighted in blue text in below screenshot is available in nhg updater
configuration file)

iv.

If the answer to (iii) is NO, download RefreshNHG Updater.zip utility tool from
<here>
For WinXP, double click the NHG Updater Clear utility tool.
For non WinXP, right click the NHG Updater Clear utility tool and Run as administrator.
Restart NHG Updater Service twice.
(Control Panel > Administrative Tool > Services)
