We have carried out a survey about our project, Automated Clotheshorse System, as a

part of our marketing analysis. From the survey we can know that if our project will be
contributing to the society, and most importantly solve the problem and benefits people.
A total of 79 respondents have submitted the survey form we have conducted using
Google Form. As below are the summary of the response we received.
1. Do you dry your clothes outdoor?

Firstly we
need to
know if
people
hang their
clothes
outdoor for them to dry, this is because if they do so, they will be having the risk of their
clothes being wet when it is raining. From the result we got, 70 out of 79 respondents do
so, which makes out project have a higher chances to be accepted by the market.
2. If you are living in an apartment, do you face any problems reaching the clotheshorse
to hang your clothes because it is too far outside of the window?

3. In what time of the day do you dry your clothes?

4. Do
you

often worried about your clothes getting wet because of rain when you are away from
home?
Most of
the

respondents will be worrying of their clothes which are hanging outside for drying will
get wet when it rain when they are not at home. We think that people should focus on
what they are doing outside and forget about this issue and should not let it ruins their
performance on work or study. So by the time our project goes into the market, people
may appreciate what it can do for them.

5. Do you need to re-wash your clothes that are soaked in the rain?

68 out
of 79

respondents re-wash their clothes when their clothes get wet because of raining. This is a
proof that people need to waste energy and water to clean their clothes again. If we can
prevent their clothes from getting wet even if its rain, we can definitely make their life
easier, and at the same time saving water from being wasted.

6. Are you interested in a clotheshorse system that can retract indoor automatically when
the sky gets dark?
We have
mounter a

LDR sensor (Light dependent resistor) on our Automated Clotheshorse System, which
will sense the changes in brightness, and when the sky gets dark, it will automatically
retract indoor even before the rains come, to avoid the clothes having chances of being
soaked in rain. This function will fulfill the need of 92.4% of the respondents based on
the pie chart above.

7. Are you interested in a clotheshorse system that can retract indoor automatically when
it is raining?

There
will be
time that
it rains
even
when the
sky is
still bright, and the LDR sensor itself may not be enough to pretend the clothes from
getting wet, so we included a rain sensor that sense rain and retract the clotheshorse
indoor. 94.9% of the respondents are interested in what our project able to do.

8. Are you interested in a clotheshorse system that can retract indoor or outdoor according
to your preferred time?

9. Do you experience that your clothes get wet outdoor when raining because there is no
one home to keep the clothes?

94.9% of
the

respondents have face issue of clothes getting soaked in rain because there is nobody
home to keep the clothes when it starts to rain. With the rain sensor mounted on our
Automated Clotheshorse System, it can retract indoor automatically when it rains, and
this can solves the problem, which is quite critical and people will start to look at the
significance of our project.
