Darton College Governing Body

The college will close on Friday


October 23rd at 3.30pm for the
Half-Term Holiday.
The college will re - open on
Tuesday 3rd November
Monday 2nd November is an
INSET day and the college will be
closed to all learners.
Year 9 Parents Evening will take
place on 10th November 4.30pm
- 7.30pm.
Year 8 Parents Evening will take
place on 26th November and
3rd December 4.30pm - 7.30pm.

The staff at Darton College will be familiar to you as you will have met
several during parents evening and other events held at the school.
You may not be aware that the college has an active Governing Body.
The role of the Governing Body and the Chair of Governors is to support
the Principal with setting the strategic direction, vision and ethos of the
school. Their role also involves ensuring the school meets its statutory
responsibilities and will challenge the progress of the school in achieving
its priorities. The team of Governors consists of the following members Mr R Holmes - Chair of Governors

Res-Start a Heart - whole school CPR Training

Re-start a heart day held on Friday 16th October and involved all
learners and staff. The training was delivered by volunteer health
professional from across the region. Everyone had the opportunity to
practice on mannequins to learn valuable life saving skills.

Bulb planting
On Thursday 15th October learners from
Darton Voice took part in planting bulbs
along
with
volunteers
from
the
community and Councillor Linda Burgess
from the Darton West Ward Alliance. The
bulbs were kindly donated by the Rotary
Club and are to represent the successful
immunisation programme against polio in
Africa.
