The National Center for Mental Health is located in Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City. It sprawls on a 46.

7 hectare land, which comprises almost half of the


Welfareville Complex. It is bordered on the south and west by the communities of Welfareville, to the north by Nueve De Pebrero St., and to the east by Dr. Jose
Fabella Road. NCMH's main access road is Nueve De Pebrero Street. Jeepneys with Libertad-Kalentong route, with terminals at Edsa-Shaw Crossing and Gen.
Kalentong St., passes through this road. Tricycles are readily available in the surrounding area of the hospital.

The hospital has a total of 35 pavilions/cottages and 52 wards, occupying an

area of 46.7 hectares. Facilities include a medical infirmary, library, chapel, conference rooms, tennis court, basketball court, multi-purpose hall and dormitories. As of January 2011, NCMH has a human resource
complement of 88 doctors, 890 nursing staff, 116 medical ancillary personnel, and 446 administrative support staff.For 2010, it has a government budget allocation of Php 523,982,000, which translates into an
average cost of Php 118.61 per patient per day.

Classified as a tertiary teaching/training hospital by the DOH, NCMH offers training programs for medical and allied fields. It has two formal training programs:

Psychiatric Residency Training Program for Doctors - 4-year course leading to a specialization in Psychiatry.

Psychiatric Nursing Program - 2-year training program for nurses specializing in Psychiatric Care.
The hospital also offers affiliation programs for students in the fields of psychology, pharmacy, medical social service, nursing, and others. NCMH is actively involved in several researches and clinical trials and is
an accredited by US Food and Drug Administration as a research site.In addition, its personnel conduct researches as part of their training programs.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Psychiatric ER - caters to psychiatric patients who needs emergency interventions.

Specialty clinics - special clinics for the treatment of the elderly and demented patients, outpatient substance abuse.

Women and Child Protection Unit - offers holistic health care to women and children who are victims/survivors of violence.

Public Health Unit - promotes total health care for patients and their families through psycho educational activities; includes the promotion of DOH priority programs.

Drug Detoxification Unit - provides early detection and management of drug dependents.

Outpatient Service - offers a wide range of mental health services (psychiatric consulations, counseling, neuropsychiatric of NP evaluation, domiciliary, etc) on outpatient basis.

Acute Crisis Intervention Service (ACIS) - provides acute crisis intervention that promotes early social integration of patients through the control and abatement of psychiatric symptoms within 3 14 days.

Hospital service

Adult Section (includes Geriatrics, Cost Recovery and Rehab, Pay Unit) - provides care, treatment and rehabilitation to acute, chronic male and female psychiatric patients.

Child & Adolescent - provides treatment and care for psychiatric patients 19 years old and below.

Infirmary - "a hospital within the hospital," offers medical and surgical care.

Forensic Section - provides forensic services and psychiatric evaluation and/or treatment to court referred or committed patients.

Dental Section - provides dental health care to NCMH community.

Laboratory - provides laboratory services; is an accredited drug testing facility.

Radiology Section - offers x-rays and ultrasound services.

conference rooms, tennis and basketball courts, and ample parking spaces. A small hospital within the hospital, the Infirmary is equipped with X-ray and
ultrasound facilities. Philhealth accredited 100 beds and classified it as medical center.Rooms are always and readily available throughout the year.
